Hidden Garden: An Adult Coloring Book with Magical Floral Patterns, Adorable Animals, and Beautiful Forest Scenes for Relaxation

The media could not be loaded.  This is a lovely book of coloring designs based on gardens. The designs are whimsical with gates, fountains, birdhouses, animals, fairy houses, and even a young girl on a swing. There are all sorts of elements which bring me right into the garden setting while I am coloring in the book. Having a wide variety of green pens/markers/pencils will make coloring in this book even more fun.The designs are detailed and a few have intricate and rather small areas to color. The projects will be fun and take some time to finish so there is a great value here. There are 25 designs but the publisher has included two of each design for a total of 50 coloring pages. I have to decide whether I will color the designs two ways or share the book with my husband and see how differently we color the same designs.While you can have access to .PDFs when you purchase this book, my review is based on the book as it is received from Amazon. That way you will know what the pages look like and how they accept color. I like that the publisher provides the digital version as well so you can choose the paper you wish to use and/or to color the pictures as many times as you choose.This is what I found while coloring in this book and testing the paper with my coloring medium:25 x 2 Detailed Garden inspired designsDesigns are printed on one side of the pagePaper is typical of CreateSpace: white, thin, slightly rough and non-perforated. The back of the page is printed black which is something I am find typical of Jade Summer coloring books.The designs do not merge into the binding. There is a heavy framing line at the outer edges of the design to give the project a more finished look, especially for framing.Glue Binding (there is room to cut the pages out if you choose to do so.)Though you cannot see the bleed-through easily due to the back of the page being printed in black, I recommend the use of a blotter page when working in this book. I use a page of card stock or several sheets of heavyweight paper under my working page. It keeps seeping ink and marring dents from ruining the pages below.Alcohol-based markers bleed through the page quickly.Water-based markers bleed through in spots.Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows on back of the page. India ink can bleed through if you apply heavily or multiple coats.Coloring Pencils work well with this paper. I found that I could layers the same color for deeper pigment or multiple colors and I could blend easily using a blending stick. I tested both oil and wax based pencils. I also found that hard lead pencils leave dents through the paper.

I absolutely love this book. Has a bit of everything. Some have butterflies a bunny frogs millipedes fish birds and ladybugs. Lots of fun coloring this one. Great quality doesnt bleed thru. Only thing i wish it was spiral as the book can be a little stiff getting the pages flat. Oh and lots and lots of leaves. Its beautiful.

I chose this book because it is designed to allow me to use my ink pens which you cannot do with a regular coloring book because they leak through to the other side. Each page has a black backing which is supposed to keep the ink from bleeding through to the page behind it. It is about 98% to 99% effective, however sometimes a slight bit of color will come through. It hasn't bothered me too much so far, as it is just a hint of color in some spots. I enjoy the pictures, and they are fun to color. I would not allow this small issue keep me from ordering this book, it is delightful and the concept is appreciated.

Plenty of pictures to color. Thick pages.

This is a wonderful coloring book! If you are a fan of Secret Garden, then this is a book for you. The illustrations are lovely and fun. Very whimsical. All are printed on one per page so bleed through shouldn't be an issue. I would still use a bleeder sheet for fine liners and markers. The paper quality is average. It's not bad, just not super thick. This is a lovely, enjoyable book that I am having a great deal of pleasure coloring in.

This coloring book has excellent pages with black that helped tremendously with bleed through HOWEVER I WOULD RETURN IT IN A HEARTBEAT if I not already colored two pages. There are so many leaves on almost every page, sometimes taking up half a page but I found it not only overwhelming ridiculous. How many shades of yellow green brown can I use over and over before my pens are gone by the time I'm done with one coloring book? Anyway I don't have the patience to color leaves over and over. The pictures themselves were pretty. I've gone through the coloring book many many times looking for something to color after completing two pages, admiring the pictures but not wanting for one moment to color them because there's so many leaves and trees and I'm not going to waste up to 6 pens just on leaves and trees. Sorry if I repeated myself but this was very disappointing but then again that's just my opinion.

Very fun pictures to color! Lots of flowers, leaves, gardens, birds, gazebo, bridge, fountain, etc. I use colored pencil and alcohol makers. The back of each coloring page is black so the alcohol markers don't show on the other side. The book includes two copies of each design so you can color them in two different versions. It also includes a PDF of the book that you request from the author's website with the access code and title of coloring book. I received the PDF version in less than 24 hours.I colored these pages with Copic alcohol markers.

I love Jade Summers color book, and I am excited to purchase her color books of the adorable little girl sorry I forgot the name already. But the pictures are so adorable I cannot wait to order the three of them and get started coloring them as soon as I get extra money The Hidden Garden is an adorable coloring book. I have been using Winsor and Newton Watercolours, my Prismacolor Colored Pencils, Staedtlers triplus fineliners and my Prismacolors Premier Colorless Blender with coloring these beautiful coloring pages ❤💕💖😍

Questo libro è stupendo .. pieno di particolari e fa viaggiare con la fantasia , i disegni sono raffinati e delicati .. c e tanto da colorare 💗 ne ho preso un altro anche per regalarlo ed è stato apprezzatissimo ... In piu il libro ha doppia copia di ogni dusegno .. percui si puo regalare delle pagine ..o utilizzarle per colorarle diversamente .. è stupendo ! .

Ich liebe Gartenmotive zum Ausmalen und dieses Malbuch gefällt mir super. Die Motive sind nicht so furchtbar kleinteilig sondern genau richtig für mich. Mich stört überhaupt nicht, dass die Motive doppelt vorhanden sind, dann kann man z.B. das Motiv nochmal mit anderen Farben malen oder andere Maltechniken probieren. Der Preis ist auch günstig. Ich mal derzeit nur mit Buntstiften, meist günstige Markenstifte (z.B. Faber Castel Classic Color, Staedler, Castle Art), und dafür ist das Papier völlig ok. Wie es sich mit Filzstiften verhält kann ich jedoch nicht beurteilen.

Ce livre de coloriages est superbe ! J'adore les dessins ! Le seul bémol, c'est que toutes les images sont en double. Donc en réalité il y a deux fois moins d'images qu'on pourrait croire.

Los dibujos están bien, son bonitos, pero se repiten. Por eso le doy 3 estrellas.

For the price you can't go wrong with this really, nice variety of pictures and not all tiny patterns. There are a couple of repeat pictures in this book but again for £4.99 I'm not bothered. Each picture is on its own individual page and I wish they would make these books easier to remove the picture....not just this book but all colouring books. I will be buying more from this range.
