Great processor, esp. when matched to a Pent. 4 Board.
I used this processor on the motherboard I purchased from the same vendor (see other review) and it has worked great! It was easy to install, works fast as lightening, and works smoothly with Windows 7 with no problems. Be patient during initial setup, as this process is a little time consuming, but well worth it. Fantastic upgrade for older slower units without having to buy a completely new system. I used this processor to upgrade my HP Pavilion 510c from a Pentium 3 board and processor, to a Pentium 4 board and processor. WOW! What a difference! For $159, this is the best fastest and cheapest computer I have ever owned! Great vendor, ships fast, well packaged, and new is new! I will buy again!

Decent Processor For Overclocking
I bought this processor in June of 2010 to replace an older processor for my brother's computer to play WoW(World of Warcraft)with decent performance and with a tight budget at that time. Over time this processor has done decent to run older games and just for everyday use. This is not a high end gaming processor but with overclocking it is very good in over all performance. My brother and I overclocked this processor to 3.2 GHz on the stock heatsink it came with and the temp was idling around 42ยฐC and higher. We were also able to overclock this processor even higher to 3.8 GHz with arctic silver 5 thermal compound and a cool master aftermarket cooler Hyper 212 Plus put in a Antec 900 gaming case. Pros- 1. Good processor performance. 2. Good for everyday use. 3. Easy to overclock with stock heatsink. Cons- 1. A tad bit pricey for an older processor. 2. Its good for everyday use but if your into gaming look for a Intel Core i5/AMD Phenom II X2 processor or higher for decent gameplay for today's PC games. Over all I give it a 7.9/10

Running Call of Duty 4 at 60 FPS, at 3.0 Ghz, at 59 degrees C.
Installed this processor on a Zotac G43 ITX motherboard, easily over-clocked to 3.0 ghz at stock voltage, stable. Coupled with a Galaxy Geforce 240 GT, and 2 GB of DDR2 RAM it can play Call of Duty 4 with every setting maxed at 60 Fps on a 720p monitor, and still stay below 60 C. even with the stock Intel Cooler. I played the Crysis demo and it stays well above 35 Fps. Great Processor at a very reasonable price.

Not as advertised
The processor was supposed to be new however, the processor was marked and there were indications it was used, not new.

Warning f672cr mobo owners (ie. acer 1610)
This chip does not replace the stock E2140. Bus speed match. Socket match. Is in Acer's compatibility list, but NOT COMPATIBLE. Upgrading bios didn't work. Intel tech support said they didn't know, ask Acer. Acer said, "Sorry for the inconvenience." Additional commentary unpublishable.

It was and is still one of the BEST socket 775 dual cores EVER MADE...
This lil guy is a TROOPER.. and I'm told when paired with a decent ASUS / high-end motherboard, it is easily overclockable up to 3.5-4 ghz if you have a robust enough heatsink / fan on it. With water cooling? Perhaps even better. I'm not currently using it, but I MIGHT reassign it to a small bitcoin mining machine. We shall see...

Runs very cool and performs well.
Got this CPU for a Mediacenter PC that will be used only to stream HD content and it works very well. A passive heatsink is ok as this CPU won't generate much heat. Worked right out of the box with default BIOS settings.

Excellent processor! Happy Intel customer!
I've always been with Intel since my first computer. I've always been happy with their products not only because they can perform well, but their products are built to last. I bought this processor to use in a DVR computer system that I was building. The DVR computer holds and plays Media Center recordings as well as high-definition TV shows and movies. So far, this processor can play all these videos (both SD and HD) with no problems. When I'm playing a HD video from iTunes at full screen, the processor doesn't go over 40% and never exceeds ~87 degrees F. This is a great processor. Intel has never disappointed me and that is why I continue to be an Intel user. This is an excellent processor for the price and performance!
