My Poolโs New Metal Bouncer (No Copper Allowed)
This CuLator Metal Eliminator PowerPak sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie, but in reality it just sits in my skimmer quietly doing its job like the most overachieving lifeguard on Earth.Copper, iron, rust, manganeseโapparently my pool had more โguestsโ than I thought, and this thing politely shows them the door. Waterโs clearer, stains are gone, and I didnโt have to negotiate with a single mineral.

Actually removes metal from water
Since I bought my first home with a pool a number of years back, I have strived to find the easiest, lowest-chemical way to keep the water crystal clear and fully balanced. Three products make my life easy. When I filled my new pool, I added this product Culator to my pump basket for a few days to remove (not sequester but actually remove) all metals from the water. Then I pop it out and add PoolRX to my skimmer basket which sanitizes my pool and 100% prevents any and all algae using chelated (non-staining) minerals such as copper, zinc, and silver. Buy the real stuff on Amazon and not the knockoff that looks just like PoolRX. Then I added a Poolsmith CO2 unit to control PH without muriatic acid (I have a pebble pool). Voila. Easy peasy. Water is perfect as is the surface of my pool. Back to the Culator, metal stain prevention agents only sequester metals to prevent them from staining but poor water chemistry and even shocking the pool can cause those metals to fall out of sequestration and stain. Culator removes the minerals altogether. When I drain about 1/4 of my pool once a year, I add Culator again and let it do its thing for a few days as well.

Completely Ineffective
I have very small amounts of metal in my fiberglass coated pool. Untreated, they become very visible stains after a few months. I tried several these Culator bags in the skimmer, and the basket version in the circulation pump, several times over the course of more than a year. They do absolutely nothing to improve the situation. My primary metal of concern is iron. When I remove the bags and cut them open after months of use they have no color indication at all. Once I add a treatment of any standard sequestrant (pro team metal magic, jacks pink stuff, pool stain tread, or plain old vitamin C i.e. ascorbic acid) the stains lift and the pool looks amazing. Unfortunately sequestrants wear off and need to be constantly added to keep the metal suspended. Hence my obsession with trying to make this Culator product work.It does not surprise me that the Culator is useless. It's tea bag sized, and not very porous. So the water that flows near it just goes around it rather than the path of most resistance which would be through the bag. And it has so little area that the gallons of water that passes near it is a miniscule fraction of the pool's water volume. You might as well place a few magnets in a sock and drop that in ... at least that might result in a pull-in effect from the magnetic attraction.I feel quite foolish for having raised hopes for this product based on the reviews of others. It amazes me how wrong they can be.

Well Worth the Money!
I had the vinyl liner in my pool replaced in May. After the pool was filled, I had issues with staining on my white fiberglass steps and the frames around the skimmers. I had used products recommended by my pool company; however, they were not working. Ascorb-X would remove the stain; however, it would return as soon as I added chlorine back into the pool. I used another product with the Ascorb-X that was supposed to bind the metal in the pool. I read about CuLator 1.0 and 4.0; and I contacted the company. David McLaren, VP, Product Development, Periodic Products, Inc., was extremely helpful with advice about how to use the CuLator (very easy). Although I still have some staining on the steps, the water is finally crystal clear. It may take a bit longer for the stains to go away completely because the CuLator keeps changing color. I highly recommend this product. Another customer remarked on the cost. I had spent over two hundred dollars on products that did not work so I consider the CuLator (I purchased the 1.0 based on the size of my pool) a real bargain!

Worked, and quickly!
Donโt ask me how this works, but just know it does. I was skeptical, even went and bought a $30 bottle of metal remover, but so glad I never had to use it. This little bag of magic dust absorbed the copper in less than 2 days with the pump running 24/7. I will keep these on hand from now on.

Reliable application instructions
I tried looking up additional information on this and found my questions went unanswered. For the most part I don't know if the one I purchased was the correct one for my issue but it did help somewhat. Needed more basic info on how long to leave it in and if I needed to add another

It really does what it says.
I use it on every new fill of the hot tub, and it removes all the iron, this really works.

Will be buying again!
AMAZING! I filled my small 12ft pool with well water through a water softener. The second I shocked it, it turned the most disgusting shade of brown. I was distraught. There were tears. This magic bag made my pool CRYSTAL CLEAR in two days. Summer saved!

Useless product !!
We bought this product to do exactly what it claims. Unfortunately for us, it didn't work... as a matter of fact, we got more yellow stains when we installed the pouch in our skimmer. It also came apart in the skimmer. For the money we paid for it, it is not only very expensive but totally useless !! Very disappointed. Cannot even send it back as it disintegrated in our skimmer. Not happy at all !!!

These are very effective in removing metals from pool water!
I topped my pool up with well water, and it was crystal clear until I shocked it with chlorine. It almost instantly turned yellow, as the chlorine binds with the iron in well water. I did some research on how to resolve the yellow color, and decided to try this. I put it in my pool skimmer, and the water was crystal clear again in just over 24 hours. They are very hard to come by. The seller shipped it quickly, and it arrived within a few business days. I highly recommend this product.
