It seemed to add just enough sweetness to the fresh cranberries, mango, almond milk, canned pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice and fresh turmeric combo. It has sturdy packaging and the product appears fresh. It was recommended by Dr Michael Greger, author of "How Not to Die", as a way to cut back on sugar, especially processed sugars. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good product, good price *by B***D on Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2017* I'm a dentist and found Erythritol information at a recent dental convention, and then investigated recent research. This natural sweetener can rationally help prevent sugar-related tooth decay and bad breath -- it isn't just a marketing gimmick. In addition to substituting it for glucose or fructose, you can also dissolve it in water and use it as a mouthwash if you have dry mouth or just want the mouth to feel better in the morning. It has a low glycemic index, relevant for diabetics. One Big Plus of Erythritol is that unlike Xylitol, it is supposedly non-toxic to pets (although it can cause fluid balance problems if the pet eats too much). This brand is labelled as being made in the USA, so it should be safer than that made in the "people's republic" of you-know-where.I'd try a little bit from a packet available at restaurants or health food stores before buying a pound of it because it does have a different taste from sucrose or fructose and is not as sweet. I personally think Xylitol tastes better (regular sugar tastes better too, but leaves a poor aftertaste and can cause bad breath, because the mouth bacteria which eat sugar don't smell very good once they multiply).Many dental patients complain about bad breath and cutting down on sugar is one thing that helps. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not great for coffee *by M***T on Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2017* I got this to sweeten coffee and it took A LOT to have an effect and left an odd taste. Sort of cool like Xylitol, just not as much. Maybe this is good for baking.
