Are the numerals (1,2,3,4...etc) engraved into the wood or just printed onto the wood?

Hi, there. In this version of our Counting Pegs, the numerals are printed onto the wood. The numbers are big enough for children to trace easily though!

Would 1” felt poms fit in the peg holes? Also, what is the size of the square filling?

Hi there, thank you for the questions! Unfortunately, 1" felt poms are a bit too big to fit in the peg holes, however, they could definitely fit in the bottom compartment. We recommend 1/2" pompoms for the peg holes as the holes are 1/2" wide. The rectangular cut-out on the bottom is 3.25" x 1.75". You can use this space to place the matching square number tile or put a variety of counters/fillers such as beans, pebbles, sand, or rice. Let us know if you have further questions! What kind of finish/sealer is on this? Is it water based?

Great educational fun toy!

My 2.5 year old loves this, just doing the basic counting at the moment but I love how this will be useful for years to come. She loves sorting the different pegs. It’s excellent quality too. Buy a lot of wooden toys and a lot aren’t nice quality but this one is beautiful.

Quality resource!

Lovely resource for my preschool children. Love it but my only complaint is that it hasn’t got a child friendly ‘4’ digit. It’s like a 4 on a calculator. Not easy for young children trying to learn numbers. I’ve had to adapt the pieces with a sharpie. Other than that it’s a good quality resource!
