EGO POWER+ 21" Electric Snow Blower, Cordless, Includes (2) 56V 5.0Ah Batteries and Rapid Charger - SNT2102

I bought this after a failed attempt at saving a few $ and getting a SnowJoe. This was a much better investment. I had no issues "assembling" this after the unboxing, as there were 2 screws needed to attach the chute. That was it. Both batteries arrived with some charge on them and took perhaps an hour total to top them both up to 100%. When the next snowfall came I carried it outside (very light) and went to work. The scraper bar bit down into the snow to the pavement. The blower chewed through the 3-6 inches of snow that had drifted around the driveway and sidewalk. The chute direction was easy to change with the cable-driven handle on the controls (no electronics here, just simple and reliable). The discharge height stayed set because it locked in position with the toggle on the grip-handle. Everything about this just worked, no issues at all. After we finished the 2 car driveway and all of our sidewalks (corner lot) I was very happy to see I was still at 5/6ths on the batteries. I could do a lot of the neighborhood with this as well, without a recharge! I'm ecstatic to have this replacing the unit I had to return to Amazon from SnowJoe. (Thanks, Amazon btw... very nice of you!)

Works exceptionally well for the size it is. Regardless of my gas blowers starting reliably on the first or second pull, somehow everything just gets done faster. I assume because it’s much lighter I’m less fatigued over time allowing me to keep a quicker pace. After testing how much can get done in 23in of snow/snow drifts I’m very happy with it (about 10 car spots worth). If you have around 6in of snow you could expect to get around 26 cars worth of space done. It’s not a miracle snowblower but it’s close. The only issue is also remembering to charge batteries or deciding what areas matter most first if you have a bunch of snowfall you can’t get through in one go. Haven’t had any issues or anything break even after eating some rocks and sticks. A bit pricey but very worth it.

On the whole this on one of the better moderate duty snow blowers you can buiy, but there are a few areas where it needs design improvement. First it needs to come with properly designed skids or wheels in the front that are height adjustable. I added my own but honestly they should be properly designed into the machine from the outset. The lid for the battery compartment does not ope fully and won't stay open on its own. That means you have to keep holding the lid open while you are releasing the batteries which is not in any way convenient. Honestly it's flat out dumb. another poorly designed aspect is the snow deflector at the top of the chute. You need to pull a trigger to raise it up, but it can be pushed down on its own. If feel it should just permanently lock into place with the trigger in both directions. Having to fool with it is annoying and as an 83 year old, I tend to want to use it to steady myself on the slick sidewalks. If you touch it, it goes down so it's not any help. From a storage point of view, it would be nice if the entier chute could be snapped off with some sort of quick release mechanism. The handle and chute end up being bulkier and consuming more space than they should when stored. Another very important aspect would be a replaceable steel plate with tungsten wear protection teeth as is found on bulldozer blades and buckets. This is an improvement all manufactures' machines need. The all plastic blades can wear out very quickly. All this said, I'm positive about this machine, but is it is far from being brilliantly engineered. For that reason, I only gave it 4 stars. It works well, but could be improved considerably as described above.

Let me start off by saying I have 1 corner property house, a corner property commercial building that I rent and another corner property investment house. It has now snowed twice, once 8 inches and second 12 inches. This snow blower has been a gem. It's not as powerful as a gas powered but the pros outweighs that cons by a lot. It only snows significantly in New York, 4-5 times a year on average. At most 8 times. No need to have a behemoth of a machine eaching up valuable garage space or buying a shed just to put the blower in.Pros - it weights somewhere around 40 lbs so it's super light- handle folds in so I can easily put it in my SUV by myself, no help needed- powerful enough to throw soft snow approx 15 ft- no filling gas,oil- no pulling the string like a maniac or pressing stupid rubber button a million times to start the engine- don't need a ramp to haul around to different locations, simply chuck in that back of your car and your good to go- saved money on buying a ramp to transport a glass blower- so light and easy, my wife can use it.Comes with a 5 year warrantee. That's good enough for meCons- has a replaceable rubber blade, not sure how long it will last but has been solid for now- not as powerful as a gas blower but that's fineSo far I love it

I live in Minnesota. I have a 3-car garage, so my driveway is of average suburban length, 3 cars wide tapering to two at the bottom. It's a little steep at the bottom -- be careful when it's icy. Santa gave me one of these for Christmas. I'll share my thoughts.I got the two-battery option with 5-AH batteries. I thought the difference between 1 battery and 2 would be longevity of a charge, but I think 2 might also have a little more power. I'm not sure.We've had one significant snowfall, and I was out of town. It was 4-6 inches of powder but compacted down to about 2 inches of crunch, crunchy snow by the time I plowed it. I'll update this review after we get a serious storm.This guy did great, for a 1-stage blower. When aimed ahead and not blowing into the wind, yes, it will make it (estimated) the 35-feet advertised. It does not throw that far when diverted to the side. I'm guessing I lose about half the range. This meant instead of going up and down the driveway like I do with my monster 2-stage, I went side to side. The blower handled that just fun, clearing the driveway easily.It does not clear as well as a shovel, but it probably did a little better than my two-stage and didn't take any longer. It was way, way faster than shoveling, and I didn't put my back out. And it's not remotely as hard to move about as my 2-stage, but as I said, that guy's a monster (larger than necessary for the size of my driveway).Assembly was trivial. There's almost nothing to do. It took me 15 minutes. Operation -- well, if you actually read the manual, also trivial. The batteries are huge but go in easily To start, "press and hold the button and squeeze the handle". Then it's like your lawn mower -- release the handle and it stops. You must press and hold the button first, or it won't run.There's a fairly nice headlight if you're out at night.Compared to any gas-powered device, this guy is a lot quieter. It's not silent. There's a definite whir, and it sounds crunch against the crunchy snow. But I didn't feel like I needed hearing protection. It might be quiet enough not to wake the neighbors; I'm not sure. Maybe I'll ask them.It comes with a single-battery charger, so you have to charge one at a time. The charger is huge. This isn' t and electric drill, after all. It can be mounted on the wall. I put it downstairs -- they'll charge faster when they're not out in a cold garage.This is reasonably light. After I finished my driveway, I hauled it through the house and did my deck, too. I don't even try with the gas guy.There's a lever to rotate the discharge chute, although you have to step to the side of the machine and use a handle on the chute if you want to change the up/down angle. Up for further distance, down if it's windy and blowing back in your face. I forgot the lever was there and was rotating it side-to-side by hand. Silly me.I am estimating batteries will last 4 or 5 seasons before needing replacement. If so, this might cost me $100 in batteries a season. Compared to paying for a service -- or even taking the two-stage for annual tuneups -- that's either cheap (compared to a service) or not bad (tuneups). As long as I don't let the batteries get to old, it will always run, which is a nice bonus.So far, the only downside would be if I wanted to also plow my neighbor's driveways, which I would frequently do with the two-stage. I don't think a single charge would last through two driveways. And I'm not sure if they'll last through one with a significant snowfall, but if not, I'll just take a break and let them charge. It doesn't take all that long.

I figured I'd try an electric snowblower since Amazon is the distributor. I bought this item from Amazon on Dec 18th, 2020. I used it on the first snowfall on Jan 28, 2021. It worked fine. I was happy. On Feb 6, 2021, new snow expected so I figured I'd clear some remaining snow with my new EGO-2102, but the unit is dead batteries are fully charged but the unit will not start. No power indicator light or headlights. Amazon indicates that the return window expired on Jan 31, 2021. To boot I had already ordered another charger and battery (10 Ah) for it.Feb, 19, 2021; EGO sent me a second unit under warranty. I have the first dead unit boxed and ready to go. I received the second unit on Fed/17/2021 it snowed overnight so time to use the replacement blower. All was fine until about 20 minutes of use when like the first unit it just cut off and would not restart. Now I have two dead EGO-2102 in my possession. You can't make this stuff up. EGO says they will send the third unit and have both dead units picked up at my home. So far customer service has been responsive and courteous but something is definitely wrong with their quality control and I suspect they know it.Jan 2024; The second unit EGO sent to under warranty amazingly died as the other units did after a few minutes of use. This one has been unused since I got it in 2021. Now they don't want to replace it but want me to take it to their service center expectingme to pay if deemed not caused by a manufacturing issue. I would say it appears to be an engineering issue at this point. I will not pay a dime to repair this lemon of a product.

Got my unit today, put together and noticed that the screws holding the "scraper bar" are too long.I didn't have to put the screws in. They came that way. So, took it out on our wheel chair wooden ramp for a test... And lo and behold... it gouged the wood.I called support, they said nothing they can do and that I shouldn't use it on wood.I told them that there is nothing on their websites indicating this issue and or not using it on wood.So, either I come up with a way to fix this or return it.I then put an aluminum plate on the bottom to cover the screws. But that got stuck in cracks on the ramp and slowed the blower down. But, I was still getting the gouges on the wooden surface. So, its not the screws. It's the ridges on the scraper bar.So, I added some wheels (see image) to the blower housing which raised the blower 1/8".That work... no more gouges. However, it does leave and 1/8" layer of snow I have to manually shovel. Which is no problem.I also read/watched reviews on here and youtube where this scraper bar wears out every 3-4 storms when used on asphalt. It's made of regular plastic. Yet, I have a shovel that is made of hard plastic that doesn't wear down until 3 years or so.I am not an engineer, but the product engineer(s) (or whoever) is at EGO that came up with this faulty scraper bar needs to be replaced. They say they have no solution for the scraper bar, yet there are solutions they can do like; use hard plastic, wheels, or skid shoes. This is not rocket science. They don't want to fix this because they make $20 off of each sale of the scraper bar. Slick move EGO!!!So, I wouldn't use this machine on ANY wooden or anything else you don't want gouged unless you add wheels or are willing to be fleeced $20 every 3-4 storms because the scraper bar has to be replaced.Anyways... The blower itself works pretty good. Doesn't shoot out of the shoot very good on light fluffy snow under 2-3". Does better with 4"> snow. It does moderately wet snow good too. This may not replace your gas snow blower for large storms, but for anything 1)" under you should be good to go.I rate this only at 3 stars because the engineering debacle that is the scraper bar. It is very flawed and they want it this way to fleece customers of more money.

We only had to use our snowblower once, but was very happy with its capacity to move snow. Here in zone 5, we don’t tend to get more than a few inches at a time, so mostly bought this as a precaution. But we live on a corner lot and there is a lot of sidewalk to clear, not too much driveway. More than we want to shovel and we are ladies of a certain age. ; )

I was miffed that it came late but that was UPS fault I suspect not the seller. On the unit, it cuts through 7” moderate snow easily, my driveway is about 60’ long and there was still 50% charge left. It’s not self propelled so I think it would be work with greater than 10”. But it’s light, really easy to use and it’s a single stage direct drive, mostly plastic so should be much more reliable than the conventional 2 stage belt driven units. Only used it twice but so far looks good. PS handle folds for easy storage.
