Televes DATBOSS LR Mix Hi-VHF UHF
if you live in fringe areas this is the antenna for you! Through the years I have tried many antennas, through the analog days to digital, and now atsc 3.0. This has a built in amplifier and is designed for better reception for both hi VHF and UHF frequencies. In the mountainous terrain here it's hard to get many channels, bu the DAT Boss pulls them in from Charlotte, Greensboro, and Asheville. It's very light weight but has held up through Helene and other major wind storms. Bar none best outdoor antenna you can get imo.

Possible Problems with Your TV Reception
64 mi to Tv towers with little change in elevation. After clearing interferences and positioning on pole 6 feet above the ground, it picks up all of the stations from the tv towers in that direction pointed. If you do not get the desired reception, what possible interferences could you have ignored. Ignorance they say is bliss.... Uhhh not today...1. Make sure no electrical lines above antenna (including in house if indoor installation) or in direction of tv tower and close to antenna for less interference and best reception.2. Any structure between antenna (metal, concrete, wood including trees, etc. etc. etc.) and tv towers will interfere to a degree.3. I would make sure the antenna is not touching the antenna pole except with rubber and/or plastic parts.4. Make sure antenna is not touching any other structure near it.5. If all of the above are ok and you plug in your amplifier and still no reception, temporarily remove remove remove your ground (caution as lightening may get you) and see if suddenly your amplifier is sending signal to preamp and antenna is hopefully now miraculously receiving a multitude of tv channels. If so, figure out a new grounding path or get someone to help you as you now know it is not your antenna/amplifier/ or preamp.6. At this time if all is working, I would now turn off your amplifier to see how many stations you get if the amplifier should actually go out in a few years.IMO a great matching amplifier/preamp/and antenna combination for receiving tv receptions in one primary direction from long distances.Correctly redoing the grounding is recommended if reception failure occurs.

Great Build Quality, Great Reception, Straight Forward Assembly
All the parts are fabricated well. Assembly is fine if you stick to the instructions, and go about it slowly. I watched a video on Televes put out that greatly assisted the assembly and I used it (with lots of pausing) along with the printed instructions. I used an RCA mini yagi antenna prior, and while that unit was nice when I first installed it, we've since erected a large shed that got in the way, and a neighbor built a large house and shed that further inhibited the signal. Even with an amp, we weren't able to split the signal, and only got a handful of channels after the shed and the neighbor's buildings went up. That and all the channels I wanted were in the vicinity of 50-60 miles away. I could only draw one of the major network channels, and even they were spotty. I assembled the Televes and placed it in a terrible location (front porch, and lower than the RCA). It's tilted sort of downward to boot. This is a temporary location; don't need a big honkin' tv antenna on my front porch. Either way, I plugged two coax cables to two separate tv's and immediately got nearly double the channels I had been getting, and all the major network channels are now crystal clear on both tv's. This antenna is the real deal in my opinion.

More Joy Than I Expected
First off I should note that my box arrived with a puncture at one edge, which someone had taped over. And sure enough, inside one of the elements had been broken out of one of the VHF wings. As it was one of the innermost elements, and for the lesser-used VHF band, and as I didn’t fancy going through a troublesome return process, I calculated that this one element would probably not seriously affect the performance of the antenna. (Which, thankfully, turned out to be the case.)I live some 70 miles or so from my nearest broadcast stations, which I have been able to receive for decades by using a very large, long-range rooftop antenna. And when broadcasting switched over to digital transmission, the same antenna continued to work just fine.So that was a pretty sweet deal. But this year I was feeling that it wasn’t going to last forever, and the signal amplifier was getting pretty old, so it might be a good time to future-proof my setup. So for less than $200 I picked up this Televes antenna.Frankly, the assembly could have been a giant headache to figure out, but for the fact that the company provides a great video on YouTube that depicts the entire process visually, step by step. They seriously did a fantastic job with this, so be absolutely sure you fire up the video before attempting to put this thing together. After assembly, I wrestled my big old legacy antenna down from the roof. I suppose this Televes unit is considered large by modern standards, but it is a positive breeze to handle compared to my old one. It was a snap to carry it up the ladder with one hand, then clamp it to the existing mast. With my preferred orientation, this antenna did not bring in any additional stations — my old giant antenna was already getting everything available from that direction. But when I consulted the reception meter on my TV, the signal strength I was now getting on these channels was much stronger than I had been used to. I also believe this sleeker unit is going to make out better in high winds, and will certainly collect less snow than the old one.Bottom line: a sleeker installation and a stronger signal, at a modest investment.Installation note: if you are running a new coax up to your antenna, there is an included cable end with a weather-proof sleeve, and the instructional video shows the process of splicing it all together. In my case, I already had a suitable coaxial cable running to the old antenna, so switching that over was simple.

68 miles from TV towers, CBS strong.
Outstanding reception at 68 miles from broadcast TV towers CBS comes in clean and clear. Works very well with the Tablo DVR.

It works great
We only use antenna tv and streaming. We get the channels we want and considering we have it extremely high, we use a rotator when we want a different channel. It functions very well. Considering how high we have it, we need my son to help installing it which was easy. Just heavy.
