The unit works well and as I had expected. I have only good things to say so far. I will update if my view changes. I purchased 2 heaters as I am away from home working on a contract and I don't need to heat the whole place very often, just the 20x20 bedroom and/or 15x12 bathroom. I will get a little wordy here and try to debunk some of the armchair junk science being thrown about and maybe make it a little fun for some. In short let noise-level and cycling temp swings decide for you, unless you really just like something about one as another - but don't fool yourself. Odor There is an initial odor as the paint cures and any coating/film burns off. Wiping it down carefully might possibly reduce this period of odor (off-gassing). Those that say there is no initial odor, simply do not have optimal senses (and how many people have you ever heard say that their senses are dull - none!) - people don't know what they dont know. Think about that for a moment, or.longer. Trust the canaries - they are mostly unbiased and they ARE telling you something. Just because one can't sense something doesn't mean all is just fine and dandy. Heat Output The heat output is as expected - not because I say so, but because the laws of physics say so. Those laws rarely change, and rarely from armchairs. Power is power, or said in one type of unit, wattage is wattage (exluding of any minor deficiencies). With that in mind, a (100V x 15A) 1500w ceramic heater and a 1500w oil radiator will produce the same heat transfer (one may be more directionally focused or dampened/diffused or quieter than the other). All the oil and fins do is difuse the direction of the heat dispersion/transfer and dampen the relative temp swings when the unit cycles - smooth temp graph over time or a spikey one (other characterizations are generally imaginary). 1500w for an hour, is 1500w for an hour - barring no major losses somewhere (sinewave, squarewave, rms aren't real differences here). Losses here in the heater, itself would produce HEAT - heaters are interesting devices, they can be crude and yet they are pretty consistent in behavior for a given power consumption. This is in contrast to say an air conditioner where Ineffeciencies (less heat evacuated) produce counter-productive heat (heat = bad). This oil-filled heater unit provides no more or less heat transfer into a given size sealed room then any other heater, based on what we silly humans can realize (some minor inefficiencies, those produce waste heat as well, a loss is a win!). Any fixation otherwise is mostly irrelevant to use mere humans. Temp The temperature setting works fine (assuming no defect in your unit). The temp settings here are probably not best stated in F or C - as this misleads some. A better (relative) scale would be 1-10. The marketers over-ruled the engineers, again. :( Here is why a temp setting is silly; To start with, these type of units at best use a cheap DS1820b 20 cent sensor, or perhaps even something less accurate than that, like bimetallic coils in older thermostats - not sure here (I didnt read the details, not important to me). These bimetallic coils even work well enough unless defective (100+ years of experience there). The next level up of semiconductor temp sensor costs 5+ dollars. But it doesn't matter how accurate they are, for many other reasons. First, you are an error-prone subjectively-influenced human (think speaker cables, what a topic that ignores blind testing). If one had a 100 dollar temp sensor it would be of no more benefit (OCD excluded) to us silly humans. Where is one measuring the temp? On the oil tank? Near it? What does "near" mean? 6" away? 10' away? Is the unit in a 10x10 room? 30x30? Is there forced circulation in the room, or into or from other rooms? How about the humidity (5% vs 95%) and its the impact on heat transfer across a given space? So many variables to consider. Having 10 "highly" accurate temp sensors spatially placed in the room, and averaged, still wouldn't mean much in the real world - are you really concerned about keeping the spider in the corner nice and comfy? Our human concerns here are mostly silly, biased and subjective. There is no concept making everyone happy here, beyond those who understand the science here (formally or informally). If one is the type that thinks there is such a concept of something being exactly 85F, or something being exactly 1 ft long, or that stepping one half the distance to the wall will eventually get one to the wall (head in palm), then they will be dissapointed by any and every type of heater (and only subjective "feelings" will rule). You can have 12 eggs, but you will never have 1lb of eggs (near a pound yes, but not an exact pound). Ask yourself, setting the heater to 80F means what? 80F where? Ponder that. The science majors at the manufacturer cannot accurately answer this, and 99% of the marketing majors surely cannot answer more accurately - but they might in turn make you feel better with their product specs and nicely crafted literature. They did "produce" a lot of product info - being kind there. Timer The timer seems to work fine for me but I have not tried every setting. Again time accuracy/precision is relative, and close enough is plenty good enough (99% vs 99.9%). Just like with temperature, one could add a microcontroller to get really close timing (remember, nothing is exactly X days, hrs or milliseconds in duration) but that costly higher precision would mean nothing to us mere humans in the real world - it just perhaps make a few consumers "feel" better. I am happy with my unit so far, as in my case I wanted a quieter more-difused heat with cycling (less temp swings) but I too am being subjective - and probably spending double for little gain. A heater that produces 1500w at 50% duty cycle vs 750w at 100% duty cycle is no different (you just have the spikes that may affect your comfort). You might tolerate the cycling spikes, or not. With respect to overall heat produced by each, if you think there is a dramatic differences please feel correct Mr Einstein and many others, and they'll go prepare the universe for some troubled times ahead. Here I just wanted to counter some of the armchair scientists using subjective pseudo-science in their evaluations, though I do find the readings enjoyable. I learn a lot from them. Noise-level As I write this, my 1500w 30 dollar oscillating ceramic heater with internal fan is keeping me just as toasty in my 20x20' bedroom, as the doubly-priced 1500w oil heater does, but the ceramic heater produces more noise for that same heat production and transfer. I think this is perhaps the biggest difference that could impact a buyer. Relatively high noise vs relatively low noise. That is probably the decider for many - silence good, white-noise good - finally something you decide. Happy Heating

This is an amazing space heater. The other one I had was from the early 2000s (or maybe even the late '90s,) and it just wasn't as hot as this one. This is absolutely a great product! I had to get rid of the old one because I tipped it over and it was leaking oil and sparking, which was very dangerous. I would highly recommend that you do not tip this kind of heater over... this one comes upside down in the package, but if you abruptly knock it over and it lands on its side, it can start leaking. It was really easy to set up. You just screw the wheels on the bottom with the included lug nuts, and then you turn it right side up and you can plug it in and start using it immediately. It doesn't put off any kind of weird smell. I think it's pretty energy efficient compared to the old one that I had. My energy bill definitely went lower since I started using it. I also like that this one has a remote, so you don't need to get up when you're sitting on the couch watching TV or whatever to mess with the settings. If you're too hot or too cold, you can just turn it down with the remote. You have to make sure you aim the remote directly at the front of the heater or it won't work though. I'm not sure about the durability yet as I've only had it for about 4 months. But so far so good! I think it's pretty well made for the price! My cat and I are always really cold in the winter, and we have this running pretty much all evening and night on a low setting and it gets our small apartment pretty warm.

The product arrived on time and in great condition. We have used this heater all winter of 2025-2026. It has worked outstandingly. We have whole house heating, but with the price of utilities, we decided that since we spend a lot of our time in the living room, we would turn the whole house heat down low and just heat the living room with this heater for most of the day. That has worked great. This heater can put out a lot of heat. The only thing that would make it work faster in the room is to have a ceiling fan to blow the hot air that rises from this heater back down to us. But it radiates the heat to us satisfactorily. It heats up fairly quickly and once it is hot, it maintains that heat for a considerable time after you turn it off. I would not recommend it for people with small children, because the outside of it does get hot. That is what it is supposed to do. I was concerned by reviews that said after a short time, it leaked oil out of the radiators. We have not experienced any of that. Nor have we smelled any burning smell. It has just been a very pleasant heater. It has many heat settings and can be easily controlled by a remote or on the device itself. It has sure solved the heating problem for us.

Finally, something that does not complicate life more! Just set up our new Pelonis radiator heater...very easy. And programming for temp and length of run time is not complicated at all. It started heating up right away...I could sense the heat rising off the radiator immediately. In less than 5 minutes, the air at least 18 inches from the radiator in any direction was warm and was expanding rapidly. And it works without making noise! I only heard a beep when I plugged it in and a click in the radiator at one point as the metal housing was warming up. Otherwise, nothing. I am going to have to put a note at the door of my office to remind me to make sure that it is off and unplugged before I leave the room. But that is OK. Love it! Thanks, Pelonis.

We use Pelonis heaters all winter long! We have a 2400 square ft home that isn’t real energy efficient. It costs $hundreds to keep it warm. We tried the smaller ceramic heaters and we were shocked to find out (after buying them and running them) how crazy expensive they are. These oil radiator heaters are AWESOME!! They are based on the old-fashioned radiator heating systems that pumped steam into the radiators. These are lightweight for their ability. The wheels make it very easy to move them around. There is even a remote (talk about moving out of the old-fashioned era) so the convenience is wonderful! They are very nice looking and very durable! You only have to set these 2 feet from walls, curtains or furniture and they are safe! The warmth and airflow is unbelievable! They are a perfect size to move from room to room. OR, they are inexpensive enough to purchase one for each major room and turn off the central heating!! They are SO WARM!! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this product or this brand!! We have used these heaters for years. I purchased some for both my sister and my daughter, and they love these heaters as much as I do! With Christmas and the holidays around the corner, consider this as a valuable, and very nice, gift!

I like this heater, probably more than my wife does, but she is rather difficult to please about forty percent of the time. According to the some of the reviews I read, the heater tends to put off some noxious fumes when first used, so I assembled it in the garage and let it heat for about four hours before I brought it in the house. I did notice some faint odors coming off it as it heated up, but nothing like what some of the folks commented on. So, after the four hours on mostly the 80-degree high amp setting, I put it in the bedroom that my wife uses as her office and lit it up for a few hours before she got home. Needless to say, she was not impressed, although I was quite pleased with it and the room was just right for her, in my humble opinion. Perhaps in a few weeks around December 1, she will value it more. I like the heater because the bedrooms are at the far end of the house and when the rest of the house if warm, it is actually too warm in the bedrooms. So I wear shorts and tee shirts almost all winter, just like in the summer, because it is just too stinking hot in the den, living room, dining room, kitchen, breakfast nook, bathrooms, front foyer and utility room for me. The new heater should work for her in that one room, and then we could both be happy with a house that is not 75 degrees all over. BTW, the heater wheels and brackets installed easily, the instructions are easily understood, the operation is simple, and the heat is very nice and well regulated. I really like it. Too bad my wife does not. Oh, well.

Unacceptable. Have only had this radiator for 22mo- not even 2 full years! I really liked it, it heated up rather quick and was overall great despite the very annoying loud, shrill beep when plugging in, turning on, changing settings or turning off. The two upper tabs of the handle snapped off some months ago but this didn't bother me much since I could still pull the unit around- however this shouldn't happen for anything that is even remotely well designed & engineered. I noticed over the past couple of weeks that the beeping would actually not sound when turning off.. I kinda knew what this was alluding to but kept using the unit. A couple of days ago I set this up in the restroom to warm it up in the morning; when I went back in not even 30 min later there was a horrible burnt electric smell. Upon taking the cover off, you can see some burnt plastic and the metal connections look either burnt, corroded, or both. I always had this unit on eco setting and the highest temp I ever used was 80 despite this going up to 85. This is an unacceptable and very serious fire hazard- it's a bit hard to believe that a name that should be as reputable as Pelonis designed something so shody that the heat it produces (lower than the highest setting!) damages the unit within 2 years of light use. And the cherry on top is that I bought the unit for around $70 but it is now listed for $100. I consider myself lucky that my experience wasn't near as bad as it could have been and will always steer people away from Pelonis in the future; I wouldn't trust a company that cannot competently design a small, simple radiator with anything.

After trying several fan type heaters over the last 5 winters only for them to stop working I decided to go another direction. My parents had purchased Pelonis ceramic heaters which lasted years and years. So I decided to get this oil heater to help heat my apartment instead of another fan heater. It worked great, I should have got one of these long ago! This heater works better and more efficiently than my baseboard heater! It looks good as I bought the black colored version, the build quality is excellent, it has a small footprint and is on 4 rolling wheels. It's very simple to use, set it to whatever temperature you want and forget it. The manual buttons are easy to use with the digital display. There is a remote also that comes with it which is really simple, basically it has a +/- for temperature, a low setting and mode. It's very quiet of course and is durable thus far, no airflow or oscillation as it's an oil heater, but it heats the space very effectively. The power bill is about average when you leave it on 24/7 during the coldest parts of winter. My power bill was no worse versus using fan type space heaters. A very nice, functional oil heater! Would recommend to anyone looking for an oil heater to heat up a small apartment.

Great product.. really puts out the heat.. I tested mine out on various temperatures and settings and waited for my electricity bill.. I was blown away by how much I saved by not having to turn on my baseboard heater. It actually heated up my big apartment living room by 2°C on the lowest setting within a short time.. so sitting close by it.. you will be quite warm if not too hot

Amazing, love the fact that you can set temperature, timer, and wattage with a remote control! Does wonders to heat up my bedroom. For lowest basement rooms I recently recommend placing this right next to the coldest wall or corner of the room that is coldest as it will ensure that the walls become warm instead of just heating up the air and then the hot air going up to ground level and absent remaining cold. For lowest absent rooms probably better to use infra red heater and pointing at the wall in order to heat the walls of the basement room. This product is more for upstairs but can heat basement well if placed near a wall.
