Nice and sharp
Very sharp and easy to handle. But pay attention to the note: this is not a stainless steel blade, it's carbon steel, which will rust if not washed and dried by hand. So not dishwasher safe. This item was ordered as a "add this item to tomorrows delivery" but was NOT in that order, so Amazon provided a replacement. A week later, the original has never shown up, only the replacement. I will never do an add-on item again.

I'm now peeling things just for the fun of it.
It took some time for the review because honestly, how often do you use a peeler? And then I used this peeler. Now I'm peeling things just for the fun of it. The ergonomics are great (which would be true for every peeler of this type). It's not that the handle is so great (I'm sure OXO could make something more comfy). It's really because of the "Y" shape and the fact that you can easily peel toward yourself, or away. But that's all true for every peeler of this kind. What makes this peeler great is how SHARP it is. It takes amazingly thin peels off, leaving beautiful carrots, celery, etc. behind. And that makes it effortless. And if you want to use it to make thin-sliced carrots, zucch.s etc. you'll have the thinnest ribbons possible. I found myself not peeling vegetables, saying "all the good stuff is in the peel." But homestly, it was partly because peeling is a pain. But now, I peel (sometimes only remove some of the peel) because it's easy, precise, and it makes the textures of the veg. more interesting. At some point you're going to need a peeler. If I could have only one, this would be it.

Sharp but rusty
Worked really well. However, I washed and dried by hand and it rusted after I used the first time. Did the same thing the 2nd time. Not using any more. Gave a 3 because it does cut really well, but cleaning this device is not worth it.

Good peeler
There is a small learning curve if you've not used a Y peeler, but the peeler is sharp and works well. Some peel might get stuck in the blade, but no more than in other peelers.

Works Great- Keep Out of Dishwasher
This peeler works great. I already had a cheap version I got free from BJ's that looks similar, so I was hesitant to buy, but it was recommended by ATK, so I went ahead and I am glad. This thing performs admirably. I made peeling several pounds of potatoes really easy, something the cheap one does not do. I have only peeled potatoes and carrots thus far, but I will no longer be too lazy to peel veggies for recipes as I used to, as using the cheap knock off or a paring knife could be tedious. In short, it works great and makes peeling a breeze. On a side note, do not put in the dishwasher. I did by accident, and after running it and cleaning it out the next day, I noticed the metal blade had rusted. Luckily, it was easy to clean off and is back to work. It is easy enough to clean without putting it in the dishwasher, so not really an issue. The blade is metal and the handle is plastic- and yet it works to perfection. It is a cheap tool and great time saver, so I definitely recommend.

The best peeler, six years running and NO rust!
I've used this peeler almost daily for six years, and it is still extremely sharp. No rust, either! The thing is, this is not stainless steel, it's carbon steel. Carbon steel rusts in contact with water. You absolutely cannot let it sit in water, and do not put it in the dishwasher under any circumstances. Wash and dry it after every use. Or if you're like me, rinse it and let it sit and dry on the counter before washing it and drying it. If you chuck it into your sink or dishwasher and let it sit with water on it, it's going to rust quickly. Take care of it properly and it will last a long, long time.

Disappointed! I was expecting more based on all the hype
I wanted to love the KUHN RIKON Swiss Peeler after reading so many great reviews, but unfortunately, it didnโt live up to the expectations or the hype. While the blade is sharp at first, it isn't extra special and seems to dull pretty quickly after a few uses. The lightweight design is nice, but it almost feels too flimsy, especially when working with tougher vegetables. Also, the handle isnโt very ergonomicโafter a bit of peeling, it made my hand cramp. What surprised me, though, was how quickly it rusted. I always hand-washed and dried it right away, but within a couple of weeks, I noticed rust spots forming on the blade. For a peeler that gets such glowing reviews, that was a major letdown. Itโs not terrible, but for the price and the reputation, I expected something more durable and comfortable. Strangely enough, it has since mysteriously vanished from my kitchenโpossibly spirited away by someone who believed in second chancesโฆ or by my trash can. Either way, the search for the perfect peeler continues. Sharpness: ๐๐ Comfort: ๐ Color: ๐๐๐ Peeling ability: ๐๐

Ligero y manejable
Es cรณmodo sostenerlo y se desliza suavemente cortando la piel de frutas y verduras. Un poco caro para mi gusto, pero me atrajo lo del acero suizo, espero que dure mucho tiempo afilado, para justificar el gasto.

Peeler Showdown
I purchased 3 potato peelers in the hope that I would like one of them. I picked up the Kuhn Rikon, Chef'n PalmPeeler and OXO Good Grips Pro Swivel Peeler. The Kuhn Rikon is perfect, feels comfortable and peels great. OXO is my second favourite, it's sturdy but feels a little awkward to handle. The PalmPeeler, I can see the appeal but I don't think I have the peeling dexterity for it.

Finest peeler on the market
These are brilliant. They cut the thinnest peel I have ever managed and feel substantial, built to last. I previously owned some nearly the same from Lak*land which I thought I loved best, but their lighter handles always snap apart eventually, whereas these are made more heavily. The blade is super sharp, yesterday I used them for peeling peppers, which I used to laboriously flame burn, in the past, to relieve them of the bitter skin. The roasted peppers were delicious, and prepared in moments. It must be good to peel extra finely as the nutrients in fruit and veg are largely below the skin anyway. I am really happy to have found these and reading the positive reviews gave me confidence.

Could be sharper
Got it last week. Used it a few times. Works fine but i thought the blade would be sharper. It is on par with my old one which is around 20 years old. Bit of a letdown but still nice for the price

Peeling is now a dream
Find peeling potatoes difficult since arthritis in fngers got worse. This peeler is brilliant, peeling now so easy, blade very sharp, and gives thin peel so no waste. Have had the same design before but not very good, this brand proves you need to choose well.
