My go to brand! Review: Product works. - This product is not a powder. It is a very, very hard root. One person said they used a mortar and pestle on it to break it up. You'd need more muscles than I have to do that. It did not work in the coffee grinder either. What I ended up doing was adding some water to it, bringing it to a boil and simmered it for 10 mins and then let it sit for a while. This did help soften it enough that I could put it in the food processor and grind it down a bit so that I could make a poultice.
