One spring did not slow the kids down enough. I cannot fault spring #1 since the zipline is 100+ feet long and fairly steep so the kids fly down. They hit the deceleration zone quite fast. The extra spring and four (4) long bungies solved the problem. The kids were adamant they did not want to go slower and they actually relish the "bounce back" from the "arrest system."
