Hi, for the Hybrid carPlease refer to the user manual: Pressed in ward and hold to Start setting mode, Enter settings 3, Select car category:The default value is 1, 1:Normal.  2:Hybrid or i-Stop (Select 2).  Then pressed inward and hold to save and exit the setting mode and restart the car.If it still does not work, try the following stepsPlease kindly check manual: Pressing inward and hold to Start setting mode, after that it will display the version number and then enter the setting .The Setting 2: Transport protocol selection (0-11), The default value is 0 (Auto-Select) ,( Please setting by your hand from 1 to 11)Pressing inward to enter setting values, through the wheel up and down key to change setting values, pressed inward to return to set items, pressed inward and hold to save and exit the setting mode. Not sure.  I took my 2017 Lexus to local Toyota dealership to install this.  He said it would not work on my hybrid. Said it was dangerous to put it on the car's computer.  So I returned mine.  Good luck. It seemed like a great idea.

What tape did you use to tape down the long cord from the obd plug to the dashboard?

I didn't need to tape it down.  The cord is very flat so I just stuffed it in the rubber door liner and edge of the windshield.  I wrapped the extra cord in one of those wire wraps that comes with most electronic equipment and stuffed it under the dashboard bottom.
