Around 300 amps, that’s why I wired it directly to my battery

Does the synthetic line come spooled with proper tension? Or do you need to unwind and winch in w/ the 500lbs of tension?

You should unwind and respool. I simply put my rig in neutral and attached one end to a tree in my flat driveway, then used the weight of the truck to tighten everything up.
