Like some others have said, you have to click the top on slightly more than you would think (resist the fear that it’ll break!), but then it’s more firmly on than the original. If it isn’t clicked into place, charging is dodgy, but once it is, it does the job brilliantly.I use it in conjunction with a silicon sleeve which covers the cap, which means I don’t have to faff with their own offering.Does the job!

It’s very secure however the pencil end is very tight so it takes a bit of time and energy to get it in.Hopefully it gets easier.

Steve Jobs would never have allowed the pencil 1 out the door. This at least works as a solution.

The lightening cable doesn't stay in and I practically have to hold it to get it to charge. I've owned it for about 2 months and it has developed cracks all over it. It seems like the plastic is crumbling. Take my advice and buy a proper Apple, they completely overcharge but their products work

This product is just brilliant just put it on and leave it on. Then you can charge without the hassle of looking for the other that comes with Apple Pencil

i got one of these about a year ago. i had to push so far to make contact that it cracked, but charged the pencil so no biggie. except that well, it was cracked. fast forward to a couple of months ago and the crack got so big the cap started falling until i lost it.got a second one. it will not make fullcontact, falls away AND doesn’t charge.later i found the original and compared them. there’s a metallic lip around the bottom of the cap that the previous one didn’t have (see photo, new one on top), and that is preventing the cap from sitting flushed. so either i force it to make contact by cracking/breaking or i send it back and look elsewhere.i’ve learnt my lesson and the item is back in its amazon envelope for a return

Whoever manufactured this did so with their head in the right place, but the product didn’t work. Next time, make one that works!

The idea behind this is 10 out of 10! Why Apple made the pencil with a male charger end on it and gives you a double female adaptor that's about as easy to hang onto and not lose as your baby teeth is beyond comprehension. But that's typical Apple engineering for you. Let's engineer something so simple that's it's now ignorant.Like I said the idea behind this piece is excellent. The execution however is far from perfect. The magnet that supposed to hold it atop the pencil is weak, too weak in fact to hold it in place so it doesn't become lost... So much for a good idea.UPDATE. After a couple months, I figured out that the cap had to be pushed just a little further to fully seat. After that, it charges perfectly and is much more secure. Very nice.

Veramente non capisco perchè la Apple non abbia fatto la penna direttamente con la presa femmina invece che con la spina maschio: con questo cappuccio trovo comodissimo poterla ricaricare direttamente dal cavo. E se voglio lo stacco e la ricarico dall'iPad (cosa che non farei comunque mai per timore di spezzare il connettore dentro l'iPad).
