Better for the larger small tanks
This is a great product that works off a premise so simple, it's the same thing as flushing a toilet. I added this to a small fishbowl that one of my coworkers had two Bettas in and was always disgusting. It was small and easy to implant, but it did take up quite a bit of the swimming space in the fishbowl. Needless to say, they did not like it. In the meantime my coworker left the company and I inherited the fish. I upgraded the small fish bowl to a gallon and a half tank. At first the fish weren't eating and several people said I needed to turn the filter off (it creates bubbles), because it was bothering the fish. I turned it off. After about a week of the tank unfiltered, it was disgusting. Normally I would just change the water but instead I decided to plug the air pump back in and give the filter a chance. Amazing difference. It cleaned so amazingly and the fish have adapted to their new, clean bubbly environment. In the wake of this I discovered a few things, regardless of what anything says fish don't like scummy water. They like clean water. Bettas are marketed as fish who can go in small undecorated bowls that can get wicked nasty before you need to change the water. This is total b.s. Can they survive it? Yes. Do they like it and are they healthy in it? NO! Fter their water. As a pet owner you are their guardian and they deserve a good life. We all need clean fresh water to live. Freshwater fish are no exception.

This could easily be a five star review
I have a new, clean tank and I can't get these suction cups to stay more than a few days. This is a fatal flaw.

Suction releases
Can be somewhat loud depending on how close to the waters surface you have it. Easy to take the sponge off and clean. Perfect size for my 5 gallon tank. Every few weeks the suction releases and the filter floats to the top. No big deal though, it still works when it's not suctioned.

Only One Issue
This filter works great and is a space saver. However, the only issue I have is it's not quite at all. If the sound of loud bubbles doesn't bother you, then you'll be fine. I have one in a 2.5gal and as a backup/second in a 20gal. Just have to get past the sound, but it does make for a good soundscape. ๐

Repeat Buyer!
I love sponge filters, and more people should! I wanted the smallest sponge with waterflow for my betta divided tanks and THIS IS IT. I keep buying them. I didnt know it would be so cute!) If you adjust water flow it ismuch better than the big obnoxious bubbles in the standard sponge. I like using them for my fry tanks to get some healthy bacteria without being too powerful. My goto for small tanks/sections. With a divided tank the water tends to stagnate in all but one compartment. I put four of these sharing one filter pump with a split and everyone's happy.

Product is falling apart
Well, these were good for about six weeks. One of them fell apart and the suction cups do not work. They work for about a week and then you find a product floating around in your aquarium with bubbles everywhere. I thought it was a good product, but I made a mistake. You got one star to push it through and actuality. It is zero this product is not worth one cent.

Great little filter for smaller tanks
Using this in a 5 gallon nano community tank. I thought I would use two of these, but just one is sufficient for clear water. Iโm not sure why, but this setup started to nitrogen cycle very quickly and the water is testing zero ammonia, zero nitrite with low nitrate after adding some plants. For the money, these are great little filters.
