ProTaper PMT 8863D Evo Black Adventure High Handlebar (PMT 8863D)

Excellent set of bars. Fit my application perfectly. Used on a 2014 Yamaha Vmax 1700. Very happy with quality.

I mounted these on my 21 cb500x. I love how tall the bars are. I didn't want to use risers to get the bars up where I wanted them. These bars fit the ticket. They are also wider than the factory bars by a few inches. These bars are the perfect height for riding standing up (6'1") and they really give the bike a more dirtbike like feel. I did have to reroute every control cable and wire and the installation was very time consuming and a little frustrating but now that they're on I'm glad i bought them. They should work great with seat concepts tall rally seat. I can't speak for how well they dampen vibrations on the highway yet but maybe I'll update this review after i get the bike on the interstate.

I wanted Handlebars that were higher and farther back to replace the OEM handlebars on KTM 390 Adventure. This protaper "Adventure High" model does exactly that. Similar in width and shallower hand grip angle with additional height and rearward position of the hand grips relative to the triple clamp. I did need to purchase a longer clutch cable and reroute the electrical cables. No cutting/splicing required. Note this protaper model is 1 1/8" diameter at the clamping area. Check the size of your specific model before purchasing. I found the proper size (1 1/8") handlebar clamps were easily available for a reasonable price.

I am 6'6" tall and I require tallbars on my bikes. I installed these on my xr400 dual sport that I ride as do it all bike. They are great bars. Stock controls with bark busters fit with stock wiring and cables. They really changed my body position for the better. I highly recommended them for tall riders.

The bars arrived in a sweet box and in a timely manner. The installation was easy and my cross brace bar from my old handlebars worked just fine on them. I'm 6'5" and had back surgery 6 months ago and hip surgery in 2018. Riding standing up hurt my back way too much and felt extremely awkward. I bought Rox Risers but returned them after realizing they were for 7/8" bars. When I ordered these, I didn't realize how tall they'd be. After I installed them, I'll be honest, I thought they looked goofy. When I rode my bike with them, at first, it felt weird, but once I adjusted I couldn't help but love them - and so does my back. I am a tall rider (6'10") and this handlebar finally got my KTM 950 Adventure to where it needs to be. The bike handles way easier now. However, if you planning on going into sand consider investing into steering damper since the high handlebars do make the handling nippier and you will struggle to stabilise the bike in soft terrain.

I put these bars on a 2024 Honda Monkey. Did not change the width. Very very happy with them. I no longer feel squished when driving. Bd can actually stand on the bike. Very comfortable for an old MX racer on his put put bike.
