How to store a mantilla so tassels don't tangle?

I fold mine after church and place it in a small bag every time. Try to keep the tassels folded in.

How do you wash this without the tassels becoming a tangled mess?

I would only wash the part that goes over the head, holding the tassles out of the water, and using a very gentle detergent like Woolite, then lay flat to dry. Alternatively, professionally laundered.
