Apple iPad Pro (5th Generation, 12.9-inch, 2021), 256GB, Wi-Fi + Cellular, Space Gray (Renewed)

The m1 IPad Pro is a widely known premium product, especially the price gap for the 12.9 inch. And most people would stray away from refurbished devices of this caliber. The question is: Was buying a 2 year old (refurbished) model the right choice? Well, yes and no. I come from the brilliant iPad Air 4; which I would Reccomend to just about anyone. I am a supporter of the m2 IPad Pro, and I believe that if you have a device older than that iPad Air 4, that is the one you should spring for. However, for those I’m my boat. The m1 iPad Pro is the way to go! Let’s start with the negatives; The packaging had me a bit worried, though there was no shipping damage. The cable and charger included are not apple products, though I half expected this. And though the power brick is nice. (((EDIT: the brick was broken, as a person who has plenty of chargers and cablesI, I do not mind this))) The cable was very cheap, I am not docking points, but I have to consider that this is an expensive product and the included cable feels like it came with an alcatel flip phone. Upon inspection, there is 2 toothpick sized blemishes on the chassis. Though one of these wiped clean with a bit of force. The positives are that this product feels like a brand new machine, once I took it out I tested it for any flaws, the screen is like new, no issue with HDR content … no speaker or port damage was noticeable, no issue with the Apple Pencil charger or the Magic Keyboard connector either. Face ID works great. Cameras (both front and back) worked fine. Performance is Great, My model scored 1% under average for single core performance and about the same for multi-core. Of course I also tested the battery, by using a software called coconut battery; you can plug your device into a computer and it can tell you the full charge capacity it has. Amazon states that its renewed products have a battery health score of 80% or more, so you outta test that. My model scored a 96.4% put simply, my model has lost about 14.5 minutes of possible screen on time. To end this off, I do reccomend this product, my model was in tip top shape and an excellent bargain, that is the thing however; MY model was in tip top shape, there is always risk with refurbished products, and you have to go into it with some acceptance that something might be wrong. But if you are willing to accept that, this is an excellent deal and based off of my experience: if you are looking for an m1 iPad Pro, this is the spot. (Apple has a refurbished website too! They completely replace the battery and chassis of all devices (note: these certified refurbished ones are more expensive, a model like the one I bought would run me another 200$ more from their store). I would reccomend looking there as well for future apple products you may buy. Say, a new phone or a Mac.) Long term check in. Things are running smoothly as of October 16th, 2023. And no major errors have peaked their head, so not much else to add; The only thing I will add is a plethora of low battery Warnings, I will get multiple “20% battery remaining from 20%-11%, and 3-4 “battery at 10% warnings from the range of 10-8%, its like the battery or the device cannot tell or flip flops between it being above or below 20%,10%, etc. —errors I have encountered— The battery indicator does not jump from 19-21, and then give the the warning again once it goes back down to 20, it just gives the the 20% warning at 20,19, and 18% —long term ownership “understandings”— I still believe that this is a great deal and a great buy, but after living with the 12.9 inch I would have to advise going for the smaller one unless you get a keyboard case or the Magic Keyboard, I also feel like the 10.9 inch is more attuned for the usage of the magic pencil or any stylus. That doesn’t mean the pencil is bad for the 12.9, but that its a bit cumbersome in some areas. I heard people complaining about the weight of the device (with the Magic Keyboard especially) and I mean yea… but it is something you get used to, and when you do just use it as a handheld, it is lighter than you would expect. I’m not doing a review of the Magic Keyboard here; but any keyboard (especially the Magic Keyboard) completely transforms the experience of this device, and it is 100% worth it to get a keyboard with the 12.9 inch, doesn’t have to be the Magic Keyboard, but a keyboard none the less. The Logitech folio touch is a great option. I’ll let you do your own research about it but I’ll just jot down some things if you’re curious. Magic Keyboard: magnetic attachment, great typing feel, and completely detaches. Has passthrough charging — 349 (get open box at best buy, I got mine for 260, make sure to ask to test the device and just make sure all the buttons work, along with the SHIFT + KEY combos, feel for actuation discrepancies) Folio touch: removable keyboard but case stays on, ok typing feel, and has a stand for drawing angles. — 170 Both have touchpad, but Magic Keyboards is way better Now for the only thing I think I could’ve saved money on: The Cellular connection. I. Love the cellular connection! . . . . . . Hey wait a minute…. Cellular connectivity on an iPad is way cooler than a phone, and is so worth it and I’m totally hooked to a parasitic exchange. I don’t use the cellular connectivity enough to justify getting the cellular model, I thought I was going to a lot. When the internet goes out, its awesome, when you’re travelling, its great, when you’re internet is slow, it’s convenient, for streaming, its good. All in all, I would recommend the cellular model, but ask yourself if you will use it, not in the term of ‘future proofing’ which is a phrase i don’t agree with to an extent. But its a lot like that 49” monitor i got, I Love it, and I will get 49” monitors again, but I’ve locked myself into a more expensive chain, that is kinda how i can describe what going for the cellular model is. I love this iPad, and i love how i got it for such a good price, usually when i get a new tech thing, I end up semi regretting or wishing i got something more, or something newer, that something could’ve been better. But i have not once said or thought: “i wish I would’ve gone for a 10.9 inch, i wish i sprung for a newer model, i wish i got more storage. The cellular thing is something I could’ve saved money on, but i have not regretted it. I think the m1 iPad Pro is the best value tablet you can get right now, and I don’t know if the next iPad Air will change that, (because of the rumoured larger screen size option) If you use the magic pencil a lot, you should consider the 10.9 inch, its more portable, its easier to use as a stand-alone tablet (without a keyboard case) its cheaper (obviously) and with the money you can save or put towards a higher capacity storage, or towards cellular, or a peripheral. And slightly more battery because of the lower screen spec, it’s a budget powerhouse. But the 12.9 inch is fantastic! And now to loosely connect this to this product. This good deal for fantastic device, i approve.

Item was packaged wonderfully and protected very well for shipping. It arrived earlier than expected which was great. Chrome Source, as a seller, is somewhere that is always check first for future purchases. The item was flawless and clean, looked unused and in like new condition. No marks anywhere on the item and it was completely ready for setup as a new device. Screen protector from what I can assume is a previous owner was left in place, which is an awesome touch for the added protection and meant I didn’t have to install one myself. Everything worked as though it was a brand new iPad Pro. Super happy with my purchase after having it for a couple months of daily use.

I got the 12.9 128 GB Cellular+Wifi for $860 and free shipping, this same model is selling new at Cosco $1260 so I saved $396 going renewed on Amazon. The packaging is generic, the brick and cord that come with it are generic but are sufficient to get it charged and set up. I'm not sure what the wattage of the brick that would come with a new ipad pro, but I don't think it's 100 watts and I'm going to be ordering a 100 watt Anker brick and Urbangeek cord anyway. There doesn't appear to be any scratches anywhere on this all, but even if there was a small cosmetic flaw I wouldn't mind as long as there isn't any flaw on the screen. The one I received is super clean and looks and operates like brand new. I've had pretty good luck with buying high-end products Amazon refurbished/renews (2 TVs and a computer monitor) so I took the chance and bought this ipad pro 12.9. The purpose of my purchase of an ipad was for traveling to my home in ITALY, my lap top becoming too cumbersome to travel with, the power cord, entire thing totaling 5 lbs requiring a computer suitcase a big hassle to store in upright compartment and not having access to it while on a long flight. ===================== Originally i had ordered a refurbished Amazon 11" ipad pro but when it arrived it looked too small so I returned it and got the 12.9 and I am so happy i did. The 12.9 is a good size screen, and if you're transitioning from a lap top to an ipad pro then the 12.9 is the way to go. My eyes aren't so good these days and really appreciate having a larger screen but still smaller and lighter than my lap top which is getting too heavy and cumbersome to travel with. This was my second attempt at buying an iPad Pro in “Excellent” condition. Both this seller and the previous seller listed their iPads as being in excellent condition with no visible damage. Unfortunately, my first purchase was a terrible experience. The iPad arrived with large dents and significant cosmetic damage that appeared to have been deliberately hidden under a protective film on the back of the device. It was nothing like the condition that was advertised. This seller, however, delivered exactly what was promised. The iPad arrived in truly excellent condition, with no unpleasant surprises. It looks almost brand new, works flawlessly, and exceeded my expectations. I honestly wish I had bought from this seller from the beginning. Let me start with the bad because there’s so little. iPad came with non original charger, wich i dont like, i feel like the nock off chargers may stop working fast i dont feel as safe using them. That’s really it, the iPad came decently packed, my battery health came in almost perfect with 35 cycles, screen had like 4 small scratches wich is totally okay, and the body of the iPad looks immaculate. For the price this is an incredible deal, the iPad despite its age still feels very smoth, can run any app i need it to, movie look and sound awesome and its also great for school using an Apple Pencil and the Magic Keyboard. I truly think this is better than getting a new budget iPad 10, they are almost the same price and you get better screen, speakers, size, Apple Intelligence lol, Apple Pencil 2 support. so overall id go for it! I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

Wow! For a second-hand iPad Pro, this is an incredible find. It truly looks and feels like a brand-new device. Knock on wood! :) I am extremely happy with this seller and the quality they delivered. Because I wanted to be 100% sure about the battery, I did a deep dive into the system logs. My results were excellent for a used device: Maximum Capacity: 90% Cycle Count: 233 (Very low for a used iPad!) At 90% health, the iPad still performs at Peak Performance Capability. I’m not seeing any "throttling" or unexpected shutdowns. It shows a very consistent wear pattern, and I expect this to last me for years. HOW TO CHECK BATTERY HEALTH ON OLDER iPADS: If your iPad doesn't show "Battery Health" in Settings, it looks like gibberish at first, but here is how to find your real numbers using a PC: On iPad: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements. Tap Analytics Data (Note: "Share iPad Analytics" must have been ON for at least 24 hours). Find the latest file starting with Analytics-2026-[Current Month]-[Date] and tap it. Tap the Share button (the square with the arrow) in the top right and select Notes to save it. On your Windows PC: Log into iCloud.com and open your Notes. Find the Analytics note you just saved, double-click it to download it, and open it with Notepad. Press Ctrl + F on your keyboard to open the search bar. Search for "MaximumCapacityPercent": The number next to it is your health (Mine was 90). Search for "CycleCount": This tells you how many full charges the iPad has had (Mine was 233). Battery Health Guide for reference: 95% - 100%: Pristine (Like new) 85% - 94%: Good (Where mine is—very usable!) 80% - 84%: Fair (Starting to show some age) Below 80%: Poor (Apple recommends a replacement) Highly recommend this seller if you want a quality iPad!

Still a great deal. However, I paid for excellent and I wouldn’t classify this as excellent. I’d classify it as very good. There is a dent in the corner and there is discoloration around the apple symbol. I’m letting it go since it’ll be in a case but I’d probably save the $ and not upgrade to “excellent” quality if I buy used again. When I received the iPad it was also already on and voice over was on.

I honestly wasn’t very happy with this purchase. The iPad did arrive in fairly good overall condition, and both the screen and back were in excellent shape with no visible scratches or cracks, which I appreciated. The 120Hz display also worked perfectly. However, there were several issues that did not match what I expected from an “Excellent Condition” device. There was a small but noticeable chip/mark on the side of the display, which was disappointing since I was under the impression that excellent condition meant no noticeable damage. The charging port also had a significant amount of scratches and wear. The biggest issue was the volume up button. The top half worked normally, but the bottom half of the button did not function at all even though it still physically clicked. I cleaned the device and fully restored the iPad, but the issue remained, so this appeared to be a hardware problem rather than software-related. The battery condition was also disappointing. A third-party app showed over 1,000 charge cycles with around 77% battery health, and Apple later confirmed it was at 79%. In my opinion, a device sold in “Excellent” condition should have been at 80% battery health or higher. Thankfully, I was able to add the iPad to my AppleCare One plan after it passed the initial diagnostic check at home. I immediately booked an appointment with Apple, and after they ran additional diagnostics in-store, the device failed under system stability testing aswell as battery. The Apple technician informed me that the iPad would be replaced with a brand new unit through AppleCare+, which I’m currently waiting on. Overall, I’m disappointed that a device with these issues was sold as “Excellent Condition.” If I had not been able to add AppleCare+, I definitely would have returned it. For anyone purchasing a renewed device, I highly recommend checking everything carefully and, if possible, adding it to your existing AppleCare One plan and having the device inspected by Apple.

Me llego en tiempo y forma, no venia bien protegida en el paquete pero parece que no sufrió daño, venia sin nada de batería. Ya puse a cargar y prendió super rápido y cargo al 100 en 3hrs. Tiene disponibilidad para actualizar al iOS mas reciente. En la descripción decía 1TB de almacenamiento pero en configuración dice 2TB. Detalles de re acondicionado si trae, viene con un golpe en la parte inferior bastante evidente pero espero no afecte su funcionamiento. Incluía un cable usb c y trae un cubito pero no se ve confiable. Le tendré que comprar el cargador original En general probare su uso el periodo que me deja para si no devolverla.

Everything else works fine, but the charger that was included is not oem and does not work. My only resolution is to return the iPad, but that doesn't guarantee that the replacement will have a charger that works. Opting to keep the iPad and use a differ block, but still annoyed that it didn't arrive ready to use.

07jun26- Nunca habia comprado un electrónico refurnished de Amazon y estaba nerviosa. Después de instalarle todo el dia anterior, puedo decir que parece que funciona bien, responde rápido, se oye excelente, la pantalla es brillante. Cheque la bateria con CocountBatery y tiene un 87%. Cuando cargue el ipad con el cargadero genérico que venía, se calentó mucho. Luego lo cambie por uno de una tablet Samsung, un PD fast charger y ya no se calentó e incluso lo cargó rápido, tal vez diria que en 1 hora o 1 hora 1/2 llegó al 98%. Tiene algunos rasguños en la pantalla pero no afectan los pixeles e imagino que con un protector de pantalla mate no se verían. Lo que note es como un borde amarillo alrededor del rectángulo de la pantalla, cuando tienes un fondo blanco se nota más, comprobé si los colores se veían afectados pero no... en Procreate se ven bien. La probaré para ver si presenta alguna falla, el rendimiento usando Procreate y Affinity Photo , Affinity Designer. Por años he usado un ipad 2da generación, veremos sí se siente el cambio.
