I was planning a 4-week trip to Scotland and needed a case that fit the airline specs, but held as much as possible. I tried out a lot of different carry-ons and decided on this one. The things I looked at were packing volume, weight, handle sturdiness and operation, and extra features. I spent time testing how they maneuvered when packed with a heavy load and had a heavy backpack on top. (The weight can make a real difference as to how easily they roll.) Being expandable was a requirement. This is because you usually wear some of your bulkiest shoes and outerwear, etc., to create more room in the case. Then, once in country, it's possible to expand the luggage to pack those items when traveling town to town. You can also buy some things like toothpaste, hair spray, etc., to use while in country, and then discard before flying home. That can require the carry-on to expand, as well. The carry-on is fairly light weight and has good volume for packing as much as possible. It has a side handle, as well as a top handle. That really helps me lift it up to place on a rack. The placement of the zip divider panel was better than in some of the other bags. Some of the other carry-ons I evaluated had the zip panel sewn in pretty far down below the zipper edge of the case. This really reduced the depth that is available for packing on that side. This case did a better job with that. One thing that was really important to me was the maneuverability when the case was carrying a heavy load. This piece was the best. I can place a heavy backpack on top, and still whip around with ease on hard floors through the airport. I've taken it on trains and through train stations, as well. It's great. On the other reviews, I did note that people said this case showed scratches easily. Because I was going to a wet climate, I also ordered a clear plastic cover for the case. It worked in the rain, and also protected the case. It had to be checked on one occasion and was frequently loaded into the base of a bus. It still looks really good after 4 weeks of travel. One thing that Samsonite could improve on is the direction that the zippered panel opens when unzipped. You have to lay the panel over the other side of the case when it's open. It would be better if it opened to the outside so that the contents of the other side of the case was visible when the the panel is open. All and all, I am very happy with my choice. It worked well for a 4-week carry-on only trip. The color is beautiful, as well. One year later: This is still my favorite carry-on. It holds a lot and handles really well. It's great for US airlines and British Airways. The size is a bit more than allowed on Lufthansa and KLM/AIr France, so I haven't tried using it on their flights in case they are checking. I've seen people boarding with larger bags, though, so it boils down to whether or not you want to risk having it gate checked. When weight is an issue, this bag is about 1/2 to 3/4 lb. more than I would like, but it's not bad. I still haven't found a bag that is that much lighter, that holds as much and that maneuvers as well.

Very nice set. The larger one is our standard for 2 and 3 day get aways. It holds so much of our belongings. Seems like we pack 1/2 the house for only a short get away and this thing holds it all. It is so much easier to maneuver even on hotel carpet (not so much on gravel). The outer case looks brand new after quite a bit of banging around. So far the handle and the rollers have held up well and the zippers have not given us any trouble.

I love this large checked suitcase. The color is amazing and will definitely stand out on the luggage carousel. The lock is perfect and keeps the zipper pulls in place. The hard outside is protective but flexible with the expansion area. Overall, great piece but pricey.

This brand has done me well over the years and recently I’ve decided to replace my old suitcases. The color and design of this suitcase makes the suitcases seem extremely exquisite. The 4 wheel design allows for smooth glide across different surfaces. I will say that the suitcases is easily scratched and leaves a mark, but besides that the suitcase is very well built.

I bought this product on recommendation of a well-known comprehensive product review website. I paused when I realized the product was not being shipped by samsonite, although the listing makes it seem you are shopping direct from the manufacturer. Product arrived ahead of schedule. Arrived w a thin cover and looked good, not flawless. No wear on the wheels at all but a (minor) scratch/dent on one side edge of the top handle. Overall, I was really pleased with the price for such a high rating. Mine arrived to me locked but the tag attached to the exterior did not mention anything about the lock or how to open. There was no sticker on the piece, nothing. I came back to this page to view the reviews/videos for help, but there were no customer videos with explanation at that time. I have not had a luggage lock like this one before. I tried spinning the lock code numbers several times, set it back to 0-0-0, no luck. I tried other code combos (all of them, in fact). I asked the seller for help. They replied quickly but not with any form of actual explanation or instructions other than to try the code 0-0-0….. so helpful. Eventually, in conversation with the seller, they requested a phone number to reach out to me - which I reluctantly gave. The representative who called me was very helpful and immediately explained that you have to first set the code correctly to 0-0-0 **then also slide the TSA lock mechanism sideways** to disengage the zippers. There is a minuscule arrow between the TSA lock mechanism and the code, but I saw this as showing where the code numbers should line up, not instructional for opening. The seller’s rep told me that this ‘happens a lot’ but they cannot change the product listing on Amazon to add any details or change how the product is shipped from Samsonite. 1. Amazon’s product listing should include all important product use details. 2. Sellers should not sell product they have no ability to quality control. 3. Manufacturers should not ship locked products with the instructions *inside the product* A poorly executed experience and (imo) counts as a failure on the parts of all 3 companies.

I love this set and I love white but then obviously it easily gets dirty. Would’ve been perfect if it’s dirt proof. Lol kidding aside, durability and baggage capacity is superb.
