Decent for stock boards with a minor caveat
This is an alright drop in kit for the ender 3 if you're still running the stock board (though I'd highly recommend switching to something open source for added functionality- skr mini e3 v2 is also drop in and fantastic value). The one problem I've had with this kit is the pin 27 board. Whilst it functions as intended, when wired up, its difficult to bolt the stock electronics case lid back on due to the lcd wires not quite clearing the height of the case with the added height of the pin board. You'll likely have to bend some pins or mash some wires down to fit the case lid back on. Other than that, install was reasonably straight forward. Teachingtech on yt has some good resources for this kit and other ender upgrades. All in all not bad. I'm still using the bltouch minus the board. I wouldn't advise the cheaper 3d touch knockoffs. You save a buck initially but you might end up spending more when your extruder rams into your heatbed.

check the spring
The quality of components is good and the kit fitted easily. However I was getting snapped filament, or more correctly the extruder drive cog was wearing through the filament whentthe filament got jammed in the tube. The tell tale sign is the extruder clicking. If you search for this problem, there are many diagnosis, issues with the extraction values in your slicer, heat creep, not enough pressure on the extruder spring, poor filament, wrong temperature, blocked nozzle etc. etc. I tried all those then noticed that the filament was being flattened even with the spring tension being wound all the way back. When I measured it with calipers, the filament was being flattened wider than capricorns recommended max size, i.e. 1.8mm, it was about 1.83mm and occasionally 1.86mm. So I checked all the components against the plastic extruder it replaced which is the same design. I noticed the spring was longer in the new extruder. I swapped out the spring with the old shorter spring and it now works fine. Conclusion, wrong or faulty spring in my kit, this could be a one-off or a batch, so if you get incomplete prints with the filament breaking, check the diameter of the filament you pull out of the tube when replacing the filament.

Excellent, but If you have a v4.2.x motherboard beware!
First of all this is a great piece of kit and I highly recommend it.If you have one of the new v4.2.x motherboards (such as the silent v4.2.7 motherboard or v4.2.2 from a recent Ender 3 purchase) there is one very important thing missing from the instructions: 2 of the wires are the wrong way round and will short out your VCC and GND on your PCB!If you look on the instructions for the v1 motherboard you will see the pinout for the 3 pin connector is VCC, GND and then SIG. The port this needs to go into on the motherboard has the following pins: G V IN G OUT. If you connect this connector into the G V IN section of the socket you will be connecting GND to V and VCC to G and it will cause the board to short out and overheat. A small puff of smoke came up but I turned it off very quickly and everything still seems to work.To fix this, you can use some tweezers to pull the individual wires, with their crimped connectors still attached, out from the dupont connector and put them back in in the correct order. Both the 3 pin and 2 pin connectors from the BL Touch need to go in this socket. On mine the black cable was ground on the 2 pin connector - if you're not sure see which one has continuity with the GND pin on the 3 pin connector. You really need to look at the pinout, figure out the pins and be sure that you are doing the right thing!I hope this is clear!Once wired up everything worked great!

Worth the hassle
What a faff on to get the Bl Touch to work with my Ender 5 Pro, but very much worth it in the end. The creality website was soo unhelpful with downloads that didn't work,I ncorrect firmware updates and some nice holes and groove in my magnetic build plate, I pulled it out and put it back in the box. 2 weeks later I tried again after finding a decent tutorial on you tube on updating the firmware, along with a new beginners knowledge of gcode. Was still a hassle but by the end I was a dab hand at amending the firmware gcode. The ender 5 pro v1.15 main board does not have enough memory to just turn bilinear auto leveling on so I had to play around and disable some features. All in all a great learning experience and now I can slice a file, set the printer away and come back when it's finished. Perfect first layers everytime now, hassle free 3D printing so I can enjoy my hobby more now.

Perfect 1st layer & only 30 mins set up!
The media could not be loaded. I am a seasoned 3d printer operator and already have a BL touch on my other printer, but required another ASAP for another Ender 3, so I bought this one as it was the best price for a genuine BLTouch and offered prime delivery. It is the full package to upgrade your Ender 3 - as you can see you get the full kit; BLTouch, mounting bracket, cables, screws, USB ISP cable and a spare plastic probe!Came very well packaged, along with VERY simple to follow instructions for Ender's and CR's. I had it installed and printing a perfectly level 1st layer within 30 minutes of unpacking!Recommend to buy if you have a warped bed, or are just fed up with levelling the bed! I use this with a glass bed.The only negative is the need to very slightly bend the pins on the pin27 adapter so the 2018 model Ender 3 motherboard cover sits flush (easy 10 second job) or print a new cover (as the fan hits the pin27 adapater otherwise.) This is just how it is, Creality recommend bending the pins.Very happy with this seller and product!

Better first layer when printing
Much better than stock bed for ender 3 pro. Use this to print petg. Need to use hairspray / similar adhesive material so that petg can stick to bed which was expected. Need to wait for bed to cool down so prints pop off the bed. Print quality is much better

Firmware not easy to find.
Physical installation of the BL touch is simple enough, but man is it difficult to find the correct firmware for the printer. I had to resort to finding the correct link in the YouTube comment section for my Ender 5 Pro.
