Shelf is nice and chunky, and comes supplied with all required fixings. Screw holes are at 80cm centres and after cutting the shelf to size with my electric mitre saw I held it up against the wall and in the position I wanted, and with a spirit level on top. When I was happy I marked a horizontal pencil line on the wall along the top of the shelf. I then took the shelf away and so that I cold see where the holes in the shelf were. Using a square I marked the top back edge of the shelf at the centre point for the holes so I could see where they were. Then I offered the shelf back into position and marked the existing horizontal pencil line on the wall where the screw hole markings on the shelf were. With the shelf being approx 40mm thick, I transferred a mark down by 20mm from my existing mark. This became the mark for drilling the holes in the wall. I first drilled two 6mm holes, ensuring my SDS drill was perfectly level and 90 degrees to the wall, then I enlarged these with a 10mm drill bit. I inserted the supplied wall plugs, then slipped the supplied washers over the fixing bolts, and screwed them in. The fixing screws have a flat area meaning you can get a spanner on them for the last few turns. I then slid the shelf onto the fixings, but to properly get the shelf holes aligned with the wall fixings I had to remove the shelf and back off the fixing screws a bit, so that they all lined up, then pushed the shelf back against the wall.
