Norpro Jumbo Flexible Cutting Mat White, 24" x 18"

PROS: Smooth surface, easy to clean; Substantial heft and feel (not flimsy) but lightweight, easy to store; Generously sized for plenty of working room; Affordably priced. CONS: None When my husband saw me using this, he liked it so much he ordered one for his workshop table to help to protect its surface. Because it's smooth, it will slide some if I'm working with a sticky dough, but I can secure it by placing short pieces of packing tape at 2 diagonal corners. When I'm done with the mat, I stick the tape pieces to the back for reuse the next time I make bread.

Much like everyone else, during the Covid-19 pandemic I've learned to cook.... which also means I've learned to make a mess of the kitchen... and now learning how to limit that mess. These cutting matts are big enough to allow me to chop a lot of veggies without slinging pieces all over the counters... and I'm not using knives on the marble countertops. They're thin enough to roll up and stash in the pantry, but tough enough to stand up to sharp knives. I like the big size. If I could change one thing it would be that one side would have a sticky rubberized coating to keep them from sliding around on the counter. I tape them to the counter and that works.... but a sticky coating would be awesome.

This definitely isn't your typical review for a cutting board, but it does give just one example of just how versatile this product is. Aside from the unconventional application below, this sturdy, easy-clean board would be fantastic for a various crafts and I'll probably get more of these in assorted sizes just for the craft room. :-) We needed something flexible, yet sturdy, waterproof and easy to clean that would fit inside the back edge of our large litter box as an extended "backsplash". This jumbo flexible cutting board was perfect for the task and was far more economical than the rotary cutting boards we've used in the past. This board works so well as a shield to keep our boy kitty's accidental "oversprays" inside the large litter box that we bought 2 more cutting boards to use as a 3-sided shield for the other litter box. So far they don't seem to absorb odors or etch like the rotary cutting boards did, which is another huge plus. So, if you're a crafter or have kids or cats, there are plenty of other unique uses for the Norpro Jumbo Flexible Cutting Board. :-)

I bought this for a bread recipe that uses almost 7 cups of flour for two large loaves. This cutting mat will work fine but it's almost too big for my island counter! It is absolutely huge! The size wouldn't be too much of a problem but it is difficult to wash and won't even come close to fitting in my dishwasher. I'm thinking of trimming it to a more manageable size.. If you're pondering whether or not to buy this, be sure to measure how much room you have!

I really love these flexible cutting mats. I first purchased a couple like these about five years ago at Chefs Toys, and I still have them, but started using them for crafts, so I wanted some new ones for my food prep. The quality of these mats are nicer than the ones I first purchased, the surface feels almost like Teflon, it is very smooth, stuff slides across it very well. I use some as a work surface on my workbench and need to be careful what items I place near an edge because the slightest nudge could send stuff sliding right off. I also like the fact that these are made in USA! I will not buy ANY cooking utensil made in China, no pots, pans, spatulas, cutting boards etc. They use toxic chemicals in all their products, so I don't want to be ingesting that crap. This item was also shipped perfectly, in a large flat box so that the item was not bent, and it arrived in pristine condition. I would definitely recommend this item as well as the manufacturer, I am purchasing more of the smaller size ones for use in my shop.

Using this as a protective covering over the glass cover on our camper stove-top. The glass top fits flush to the counter; to give us a bit more usable counter space and to protect the glass, we put down a sheet of heavier-weave drawer liner, and then placed this flexible cutting mat over that. This mat works perfectly, covers and protects the entire glass stove-top, and gives us the extra counter space we need. This cutting mat is sturdy yet flexible and lightweight, which is important in a small RV, and it has perfectly solved our counter top space problem....all at a reasonable price.

a very large chopping sheet - i am excited to find this - great product - a bit pricy - i wish they would make another sheet from the same material but just a little smaller and sell both as a package of 2~!!!!! But when you need a large cutting sheet - this is the durable one.

Make sure to think of where you will store this product before ordering, also if your sink is big enough to wash it in. It is slippery on our counter tops too.
