Works great for me.
By day three there was a huge reduction in barking. My neighbors have two dogs, one quiet, one that barks the entire time it is outside, which they have a doggy door, so it is outside most of the day and night. It doesn’t bark at anything most of the time. Just sits in the middle of the yard barking and looking around like it is bored. Which I guess it is. Hence the constant barking. They obviously don’t care. After listening to the dog bark from 4am to 6am, I was fed up and ordered this unit. Day one, I wasn’t sure if it was working as the dog had no reaction, even though I could see the green light activating when it barked. But I decided to give it a few days as several reviewers have pointed out that it has to train the dog. On day two, I saw it outside and it wasn’t barking. Hmmm, thats new. So I went out on my deck. Anytime I am out there, it barks the whole time. Even if it isn’t outside, when it hears me go out, it will run out and start barking. The neighbor behind us let their dog out just a second before I started out, so it got its attention first and it ran up to the fence in back. This movement caused the quiet dog to follow. But still no barking. Then as if it just couldn’t handle it, it started barking. The quiet dog bolted like it had been hit by something. I wasn’t sure if it got spooked by the other dog or if it was actually the ultrasonic noise that scared it, as the barking dog didn’t seem affected at all. The dog behind us, went back in the house. Then the neighbor dog saw me and ran towards my fence barking. It was barking for a couple minutes, and finally I grabbed the unit and made sure it was pointed right at the dog. I was also tapping on it, so it would be on continuously (I didn’t realize it had a remote until day four. LoL)… After about another minute the dog yelped and ran inside. Cool, it had never done that before. Day three, it was outside but not barking. I wanted to see if it was a fluke, so I went outside. As soon as I stepped on the deck, the dog ran inside without barking. He obviously has me associated with the noise. LoL It has been about a week, and while it will bark occasionally, it is rare and only for a few seconds when something has it’s attention. There hasn’t been anymore of the non-stop barking since day three. I do have line of sight from my deck to their entire yard, as my deck sits up higher. From what I have read and what I experienced, it is very directional, so line of sight is a must. I am very pleased with the purchase.

Randomly go off with no sound and dogs have to be within 10 feet in order for it to work
Product says it stops barking up to 150 ft. In audible mode it goes off when the wind blows up against it but won't detect dogs barking unless they are within 10 feet of it. I have 4 dogs. And sometimes it hears it's own echo and goes off repeatedly and not shut off? I've adjusted the sensitivity from low to all the way up but it doesn't seem to work. I have two of them, one on one side of my property and one on the other and they do the exact same thing. Sometimes they go off with no sound around at all. Tested at several locations and they just don't seem to work properly. I live on 3 acres out in the boonies. I don't know, not worth the money if you ask me as they don't seem to work. Instead of not barking they just don't want to go outside now because they just randomly go off for no apparent reason at all. Adding another issue to this. I installed brand new 9 volt batteries. Instructions say they will last about a week initially while the dogs learn. However, on both my units the batteries died within 24 hours. The remote control works really good though. Looks like returning these will be a pain. Not worth the money, don't buy. I think I will turn the sensitivity all the way down and just use the remote but that defeats the purpose since you have to be personally involved in the training. Construction is cheap and they are not water resistant.

Bark Control Pro device
I finally had a chance to set this thing up. We have a neighbor behind us and one door north, who has this dog that is VERY loud. I've tried to get help from city hall, and that helped for a little while, but since Sept of '22 the dog has been acting up again, so I got a couple of new devices, including this one. I set it up about a hour ago and the dog is definitely setting the thing off. Let's hope now that the ultrasonic signal will have an effect on the animal. I'm skeptical, but we'll see. I've also got a hand held one, I'll be trying that one out real soon I think! UPDATE MAR 8 2023 - The sensor can be very sensitive and may set off the audio noise just by the wind alone! I've occasionally had to set it to U/S sound only. MY ONE COMPLAINT SO FAR - the battery compartment - it's hard to get the battery in and out and connect it to the device. Should be a little larger. UPDATE SEPT 2023 - Overall this is one of the better anti barking devices I've had, however with really stubborn dogs and stubborn dog owners, it can actually cause MORE barking instead of less - BUT in that case this one DOES have an effect on the owner! If the dog keeps setting the thing off, and I keep mine on AUDIO instead of SILENT mode, they'll get tired of it and bring their dogs inside. My latest ploy is this - I've gotten a blue tooth speaker, and have downloaded a bunch of barking dog mp3s and whenever the dogs next door are going off badly enough, and if I have time, I'll go out there and blast my 'own' group of dogs with the speaker on full blast. Give the owners a taste of their own medicine. Not the best solution, but these owners are jerks anyways, so tough, lol. I've also got a hand held device, but I haven't had the opportunity to test that one out yet.

Prevents nuisance barking, not all barking
This device did help with the nuisance barking (barking for no reason, boredom, etc.), but did not prevent the dog from barking whenever people approached or cars came close. The manufacturer's website actually says it will only help with nuisance barking. I've used this for two different groups of dogs, and the first group it did seem to stop most of their barking, but the second group it only stopped some of the barking. One dog in particular refuses to comply. Seems like some dogs learn better than others, and some dogs are just guard dogs and don't care. I'd probably still buy again, but with the awareness that it may not work depending on the dog. I do think the device works, just not on all dogs. Depends on how their owner's have trained them to behave, whether directly or indirectly through their actions when people approach.

Quiet - at LAST!!!!
I saw almost immediate results. I had 2 non stop barkers. The smart more nasty dog luckily trained first. The kind but not so bright barker finally figured it out, but it took much longer. So, I’m guessing if it isn’t working, it’s probably the dog, not the device. I believe all dogs will eventually get it, but that will require patience, and non-stop use. I plugged mine in. Batteries can go dead and then you have to start your training over. Also, be sure to use the weather sleeve. This is my 2nd order, since I loved it so much. I had it for 10 months before it died. I knew it died because the damn dogs started up again. 😣 Still the best $70 I’ve ever spent.

good concept, several problems, you have to pay to return
DO NOT BUY! UPDATE: In case you don't see the comment, seller says they have a newer model that might fix some of these problems, but doesn't say where to find it. UPDATE 2: They sell the new model for $100, same power but claimed a larger range... but not here (less one star for dumping old merchandise they no longer sell directly). They make you pay for return shipping if you run into the problems I listed below. That costs a star. PRO: It's powerful. Way more power (louder sound) than others on the market. You can tell that by how fast it chews batteries when you don't use the provided transformer. CON: It's not waterproof. It comes with a silly plastic jacket, but that has holes in it! Can't use outdoors. CON: "Operating" light is very dim and faces forward, so you can't monitor when it's triggered unless you're on the same side as the dog. CON: This was why I sent it back: Use the audible setting to set sensor sensitivity, and you'll probably notice false alarms every few minutes. At least I did. I set it in a window, facing the back yard dog, but couldn't tell if it was going off (remember the light faces out also) so I moved the switch from ultrasonic to audible. Surprise! Random puffs of wind across the microphone caused it to go off. I'm guessing this is why so many people say it doesn't work. It just randomly blasts the dog even when you can't hear ANY sound. Think of a bad public speaker breathing on the microphone. That's not really sound, but the mic picks it up anyway. Even on the lowest sensitivity. If you're using it inside or in perfectly calm wind, it might work.

Stopped working after a few days
I had high hopes for this, after dealing with loud agressive nonstop barking neighbor dogs for years. And like a miracle, after setting it up the first day/time, it immediately seemed to work, the dogs stopped barking, and I had peaceful quiet for the first time in years. It was unfortunately short-lived. I don’t know if the dogs got used to it or what, but they started right back up on about the third day. I had it plugged in so it wasn’t a battery issue. I made sure all the volume settings were adjusted correctly. I read all the instructions and tips in the comments. Feel like I wasted my money for something that dogs just get used to and ignore after a few days.

Obnoxious Barking No More
I purchased the "Good Life, Inc Bark Control Pro: Humanely Stop Your Or Your Neighbor's Dog from Barking" and I am VERY pleased. I have a very good dog except he barks extremely loudly at people walking outside, snowplows, mailman, squirrels, everything. Effective: Noticed a difference the first day. After a week, all we heard was 1 bark then low growling. We do not mind 1 bark but even that has diminished. He was shaken on the second day, but then learned that when he barked it made an annoying response to him. Set-up -- pretty easy. I have the AC adapter. Just plugged it in. There is a volume sensitivity dial -- I found that it was set a little too high on the first day, so that it was probably going off more than necessary. I lowered the sensitivity and it's been great. Training -- it took 2 days for me to get the right sensitivity, and a few days for him to really get it. He now prefers to growl at things instead of barking his head off. Even that is minimal. If someone knocks at the door, he will bark once and go to the door. Not continually barking. A delivery man was dropping off a package late and it was raining outside. We did not know he was out there and the dog barked several times. That got our attention in a good way. The stress level of having a barking dog is totally eliminated. I fully endorse this product. I do not know if cheaper models work as well. My favorite feature is adjusting the sensitivity. Then there's the option of listening to the "alarm" to get an idea whether it is going off too much or too little. Placement: we put it in the room where we did not want him to bark at all -- home office. The entry door is at the other end of the house. So if he barks once, then it's not a big deal. He barks less when he is closer to the unit. I think that has to do with the sensitivity setting. If i made it more sensitive, it would alarm at less noise. Finding the right place / upstairs or down etc. just takes trial. At night, he sleeps upstairs and would want him to bark if noises downstairs occurred. So grateful for this product. The dog is now much more pleasant to have around without all the barking.

Works on normal dogs, not on scared dogs
Works nice, but on dogs that are fearful and bark out of being scared or overprotective it does not work as good. The dogs we had problems with were also given treats for barking and call good dog's. Great little device.

The Bark Control Pro is NOT waterproof
The Bark Control Pro is not waterproof. Even with the "Raincoat" it recommends that you bring it inside during a rainstorm or the warrenty is not valid. What are you going to do, bring it in, then run back out when the neighbor's dog starts barking? Or rush home from work, when it starts raining to bring the thing inside? I tried to return the product and didn't receive an answer saying that I could. This product is a lot more expensive than other bark control devices and all of the other ones are waterproof.
