IT WORKS, SOME NOISE
This cooler works great , to keep noise down, you can slow the fan speed down, also lowering cooling efficiency. UPDATE July19,2024 in the past I put my hand over the amplifier after watching the two hour movie, it was pretty warm almost hot. I did this update because after we install the fan and watch a two hour movie, I felt the top of the amplifier it wasn't even warm, I want to finish this update to let you know this item really does do the job. I guess you know heat damages electronics, now that I can keep my expensive amplifier cool, it's going to work better and last longer. Also I can keep the door to my amplifier closed because on this model the heat is exhausted out the back, so I turned up the fan for more efficient cooling works great.

Smart Mode Works Well, Looks Good With Setup
I recently decided to rearrange my stereo shelf to allow for the one taller shelf to house my receiver, and buy a front- or rear venting fan.I heard about this brand on social media, and I have no complaints at all about it. Smart Mode detects temperatures at or above 84 degrees F and always comes on at level 2, stays on for a bit, and goes off. Fairly quiet, and you can leave it on instead of turning it on every time you use your stereo, which for me is every day.The unit I got vents backward, which is fine. Even if you have an older and/or cheaper receiver, $50 is a decent price to pay for a good fan that hopefully will keep you from spending another $100-200 minimum after a lot of searching for a receiver that meets all your needs.

Very Impressed
I ordered the S6 model to replace a Middle Atlantic Comp-Cool that bit the dust after 6 years (if you're familiar with those and know what you pay for what you get, they're a terrible investment compared to an Aircom). I'm very impressed with what the S6 delivers for $50. I chose the 12" model because I didn't see the need for the larger 17" ones. Nor did I see the need for the additional expense of the T models with the screen. Any rack you have your gear in must have venting for heat to exit. These won't work without it. You're just recirculating hot air otherwise. You get two controls on the S Models - one for mode and one for fan speed. The modes are off, on, auto, and smart. On means the fans run all the time. Auto means the fan turns on and off depending on equipment temperature at a single fan speed you set. Smart is similar to auto, except fan speed is also automated - slowing and speeding up depending on how hot things are. You can set the max fan speed for the smart mode. The fan speed button allows you to choose among 4 speeds. Finally there's a round indicator that lights in quarters to indicate the fan speed at a glance. Nice and simple. If you need further programmability than that, then consider the T models. So how does the unit work? Very well. It does the job its supposed to and will keep your equipment cool. On the auto modes I believe it turns on at 88 degrees and shuts off at 84. Make sure to choose the model that blows the hot air exhaust were you need it to vent out depending on your setup - front, rear, or top.So let's talk about fan noise. I read numerous reviews that ranged from "I can't hear a thing" to "I can't live with how loud this is". How can both be true? Turns out they both can be true depending on your setup. If you have an open rack and sit within 3-6 feet of it, you'll hear the top 2 speeds, but not the lower 2. My setup is a closed console with a tight fitting door and rear vent hole. I sit 9 feet away. With no content on and my console door closed it's dead silent at the first 3 speeds, but the top speed is noticeably audible. With content on at typical TV listening levels I barely hear the top speed. If playing music or watching an action movie relatively loudly (which is when an amp will really get hot), even the top speed won't be heard in my setup except in quiet passages. Bottom line: don't worry about noise with these units. Play with it in your setup - you'll find your audible comfort level, and can set the fans to never go fast enough to hear. You don't need full speed for these to cool in most cases. For reference, the S6 tops out at 100 CFM - my old fan was successfully keeping my system cool with only 8 CFM. So, you can easily keep these in the really quiet lower two speeds and in most cases have that be enough cooling.Get one of these. Your equipment will thank you - as will your wallet. You don't want to fry the HDMI board on your AVR. Enjoy!

Perfect for the job
This small ADCOM equipment fan from AC Infinity is perfect for my needs. Wanted to add some ventilation to a new tube integrated amp. This model S6 fits onto the tube cage securely. I have other AC Infinity equipment fans and they are top notch quality. Well engineered, robust build/materials and whisper quiet on most settings. Drops the temp in the tube cage by about 30 degrees. Btw venting vacuum tubes enhances their life span (and surrounding components) without degrading performance.

Keeps components cool
I've used this company's products for years. The AIRCOM S6 is great for colling a smaller player. A little noisy on high speed.I have one for my Marantz UD7007 in a cabin withfan blowing to rear and it keeps it cool in medium speed. For regular size AV equipment I recommend the AIRCOM T8 personally. Then you can add smaller fans to other components. Yes they are very quiet. When door is open, you can heat a faint sound cabinet when nothing is playing. I keep mone closed. The AIRCOM T8 programing is simple and easy. Just set and forget.I highly recommend their products, they last for years.
