Love this trash can! It fits nicely on the headrest rails so it stays in perfect place for me to put trash in while on the road and still have it out of the way. The stays that come with it, keep it in a firm rectangle shape so that it remains easy to use. Putting the stays in was a bit difficult, and their placement wasn't clearly shown in the instructions, so I had to watch a video from the manufacturer's website to get it done properly. They're very snug to put in, but well worth the effort. The lid is a nice feature as well. It keeps me from pulling on the sides of the trash bag, so the magnetic "buttons" holding it in place don't have to work as hard. Not to mention that the lid also hides the trash, so the person sitting in the back seat isn't looking at all of my candy wrappers LOL All in all, this durable trash container is exactly what I was looking for.

I recently purchased a new car and wanted to upgrade from using a grocery store bag as a trash bag. The HOTOR car trash bag fit the bill perfectly. It looks great with my black interior and gives the car a much cleaner, more polished appearance. I’ve been using it for about two months and have been happy with the purchase overall. One tip: don’t forget to order the trash bag refills when you buy it. My only complaint is that the opening where you place the trash doesn’t hold its shape very well. It tends to collapse inward, which can make it a little less convenient to use. Other than that, it’s a stylish and functional addition to my vehicle.

This is a great car trash can. I bought the 2 gallon black, the size is good to fit on the back floor between the console and the back seat. It's a true black. It's very sturdy and seems durable. I like that it has a zipped top but also an easy access rubberized opening that you can just stick your hand in but also closes to keep trash and smells in. The top of the can keeps its shape via 2 metal pieces that you have to maneuver into place. It took a bit of doing to get them into place, but it was not difficult and it keeps the bag from re-folding. It has a strap that you can hang from the headrest or center console, or you can just set it on the floor. It has 3 mesh pockets which you can use to keep extra bags (the trash can comes with 2 bags but you can use grocery bags or other small bags), tissues, napkins, or whatever. Inside the bag there are magnetic straps to hold the bag in place. This is a nice touch that keeps the bag from falling down into the trash can. I haven't tested its water and leak-proofness.

6-Month Update Posted at the bottom of my review! Let's get what I don't like about it out of the way first: the material is cheap and thin, especially the top of it. This won't last a long time, no way, but at the price I paid for it, I could afford to replace it once a year or so and not be that upset. Now, what do I like about it: it fits perfectly in my 2017 Honda CR-V, right on the back of the center console. It's easy to reach back and deposit trash right through the top and it doesn't move around when I drive. I did have to loosen the straps some so that it would "hang" below the air vents in the back, but even then it still stays firmly in place. Some people complain that it doesn't stay open, and to them, I say "You didn't read the instructions." Included are several firm plastic inserts that you are supposed to wedge into the side handles at the top outside portion of the bag (and wedge indeed! It can be a bit difficult, but they will fit. Just keep trying and be careful not to pop a stitch.). The bag, with the inserts, does indeed stay open just fine, and they even included extra inserts! Also, the magnets aren't terribly strong, but they do seem so far to do the job. Finally, it's a bit lightweight for me. If my hand gets caught in the top, then it will lift vertically as I pull my hand out. I will probably place some weights in the side pockets to give it some heft and keep it on the floor. Otherwise, I really think this is the best trash solution I've found and definitely recommend it! UPDATE: After 6 months of use, I can report that the top has so far remained in excellent condition. I had suspected it would wear quickly because it's so thin. Much to my surprise, it hasn't. Also, it holds way more trash than you'd think! To be honest, I've only had to empty the trash bag twice in 6 months. I can't believe it. I never ended up putting weights in the side. Although I still think that'd be a great solution to giving the trash container some heft, the truth is I haven't needed it. My fingers have only very rarely gotten "caught" and caused lifting of the can, but even then, it falls right back into place. Despite the magnets being, in my opinion, slightly weak, they have held the trash bag perfectly over miles and miles and miles of road. I got one for my parents and for my partner's vehicles. All of them love this bag!! I ended up adding an additional star making this a 5-star review because, frankly, it earned it!!

I bought the HOTOR 3-gallon car trash can. FIRST, I'll tell you that the trash can is great and even better than I'd hoped. It will definitely do the job I want it to do, and it will be very easy to maintain since the removeable bags will keep it clean. It's large enough to also serve another function very specific to our needs that is totally different from that of a trash can. Let me explain. My wife has had MS since May 1975 and is now confined to a power chair. We had an Acura MDX with a lift for her chair, but we had to trade it for a van that has ramp she can drive her chair into and then anchor it into a locking system in the passenger side. It's when she's not with me that I realized there was a problem. I had pulled into a fast-food restaurant and ordered food to take home. So far so good. The problem? When they handed me the bag of food, I turned to put them in the passenger seat, and ... then realized that there was none! I drove home carefully, but the bag skidded all over the van from front to back and side to side! You see, there's no carpet since the power chair would tear it up. The floor is a durable, smooth surface and works well for the chair and works well if your food wants to leave sandwiches and French fries all over the van! Back to the trash can. After getting it, I found that, with the top opened, the can works perfectly well as a place to put beside the driver's seat and a fast-food bag fits in it quite nicely. I keep clean bags in it thanks to Lily in Customer Service. That (finally, right) brings me to the SECOND thing and the best thing about my purchase. Folks, the customer service I've received has been nothing except fantastic! What did I contact Customer Service you ask? Not any problem with the garbage can. It's great. My issue was that I bought the 3-gallon can and I wanted to buy a supply of HOTOR 3-gallon bags for it. All I could find was links to buy their 2-gallon bags. So, I had the great experience of contacting Lily in HOTOR Customer Service asking for help. Ladies and gentlemen, she has been extraordinary to say the least! First, she told me that she was just going to send me 50 replacement bags that fit my 3-gallon can ... for free. And she did. Then she sent me a link to use for getting more bags. It was then that she told me that their 2-gallon bags also fit the 3-gallon can! They're big enough. I suggested to Lily that she might pass along my suggestion to those who do their Internet marketing that they mention on their 3-gallon can links that you can use the bags advertised as 2-gallon bags. She thought that was a good idea. I hope someone else thinks so too. Suffice it to say that I've had 14 emails back and forth with Lily and each time she has been helping me with suggestions, soliciting feedback from me, or asking for suggestions how to make their product better, etc. No matter what time of night (e.g., even 3:00 AM or 4:00 AM) I'd email her I'd get a reply almost immediately. The woman never sleeps! She has promised to help me whenever I might need something in the future no matter what it is. So, to summarize, the trash can is terrific, the bags are great and the magnets to hold them in are very nice, BUT the Customer Service is actually unbelievable! Although I don't see a problem you'll have with their products, even if you do have a problem or a question, you'll never have one that Lily won't solve for you ... no matter what time of day (or night) it might be!

Well made product HOWEVER, it does not sit up on its own. No place to hang in front of car. Also, whatever do we do with these tabs that come with it?! I read the instructing sheet but it made no sense. Unless you use a liner bag you will have to remove your pocketed items before dumping. It's good it's waterproof so I guess you don't need the liner and could occasionally wash out but a bit of a hassle.

Game changer. This was my attempt to get people in my car to put garbage in a central location and it is working. Providing an easy to reach garbage can is helpful to keep the car clean. I thought about "near driver" installed versions; but this one is better. It fits RIGHT IN FRONT OF where the kid is seated and is reachable by the kid. It is also readable by the Driver. The only person who can't reach it would be the passenger; they'll have to turn awkwardly and, hence, isn't likely to use it. But, we will see. The product itself is perfectly fine. the magnets inside keep the garbage paper up. the side pockets allow me to store more garbage bags. It works.

Not the same product as in pictures, no brand name and 30% smaller than advertised.

Brilliant & stylish bin for a vehicle...easy to install & gives a premier look inside the car...have got it installed in my Jeep Compass...a little expensive but worth the buy...

I was trying to find something discrete and useful at the same time, after buying some others car trash can I gave this one a try and I am amazed by the quality, very well made holds a lot of tissue paper (that is the main reason because of my morning allergy) come with 2 plastic bags and is super easy to put on. Highly recommended.
