Review: I won't ever use any other headset. - As of writing this review I have owned the headset for two and a half years. The praise I have is that the sound and microphone quality of this headset is excellent, better than anything I've tried by a lot. My criticism will be the durability of the headset. First, the good. This headset sounds absolutely great. I'm mostly talking about the microphone quality. Literally everyone on discord immediately commented on how great the microphone sounded (apparently everyone has to turn up my volume a little bit) and the ear phones are also super clear. I'm not a huge audiophile nerd or anything so maybe my opinion isn't much but out of the ten or fifteen different microphones I've tried (including some studio-quality microphones with audio hubs) this one is easily the best. The headset is also extremely comfortable, even over my glasses which used to press painfully into my head with other headsets. It has a convenient audio wheel on the back of it and I can flip the microphone up or down to instantly mute myself if I want to eat or drink while in a call and easily tell whether or not my microphone has been muted on the hardware. On to the bad. The first is the durability. I had to replace the ear pads about three months in. I went with a $13 pair of black mesh ear pads that have lasted me very well until now. The pads are good and are still completely intact but just keep in mind the initial purchase is probably not the only time you'll be spending money on this headset. After owning the headset for about two years, I will occasionally get issues where the audio quality on the headphones gets noticeably awful. It's always fixed by unplugging and replugging the headset and typically only happens whenever I remove or put on the headset too forcefully. I was also completely unable to get the wireless functions to work, although I didn't really care about this very much. Even with all the criticisms, this is still by far the best value for my money of any headset I've purchased. If the one I own ever does need to be replaced for any reason, I'm going to replace it with another identical copy.
Review: Great Headset, I broke it - Bought this December 2022, fantastic headset in my opinion. Only thing that ever got a minor bit annoying every now and then was the microphone being less adjustable than the new headset I just bought and received right now (Void wireless v2). I beat this thing up and it worked fine. Think I started noticing thr battery maybe lasting a little less recently, not really an issue though. Still lasted for days during the couple to few hours/day it was used. I just broke them when trying to frantically plug in the USB-C while playing a game where I had like 5 seconds before it was my turn. Went and broke the female USB-C off the headset, into the headset lol. Can also see where I superglued the black foam covering back onto the headset since it came off when I shoved them into my carry-on backpack for a road-trip to Europe and back. Wasnt able to pull the covering back to its original location, so you can see the dried glue of where it used to be. My fix wasnt an issue, still felt great and used them like this since March of 2025. Still recommend, just trying something new every time.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: [HS80] If you have a Slipstream compatible mouse, can you unify the wireless dongles?**
A: Yep! With multiple SLIPSTREAM WIRELESS devices, you'll be able to utilize our Multipoint feature and connect said devices to a single USB receiver, rather than requiring a USB receiver for each wireless device.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to support via our website and we'll happily assist you.

**Q: Can I connect this headset to a 3.5mm jack?**
A: The HS80 RGB USB connects via USB. We have multiple options for headsets that connect via 3.5mm, however, such as our VIRTUOSO, HS60 PRO SURROUND, VOID ELITE SURROUND, etc.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to support via our website and we'll happily assist you.

**Q: has anyone else had an issue with getting low battery alert an hour after fully charging?**
A: I have experienced that in a headset with a dying battery but this model is still fairly fresh so it’s a bit odd that you’re experiencing that. I would try and see about getting a warranty replacement if you’re within time.

**Q: Which option offers atmos for ps4?**
A: The PlayStation 4/5 does not support Dolby Atmos for Headphones at the moment. However, the HS80 RGB WIRELESS is compatible with the PlayStation's 3D Audio feature.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Premium audio hardware plagued by sub-par software, an expensive own-goal
*by A***G on June 9, 2022*

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 13 2022-- iCUE now remembers sidetone settings. Good job Corsair, have a star back. ----------- My PC is a "Corsair" build, with iCUE handling my audio, my mouse and keyboard, my CPU cooler, and my case fans. After picking up the HS80 my loyalty to Corsair has been rewarded with frequent crashes, audio delays and distortion, and constant maintenance of software that's supposed to - by design - not need constant maintenance. I'm impressed with the build quality. The earcups and elastic suspension headstrap feel substantial and do a good job isolating outside sound. The boom mic is comfortable and microphone quality is the best Corsair has offered to date. Past Corsair headsets have had surround audio built-in to iCUE. The HS80 comes stereo out of the box and "supports surround audio" through external tools: either Windows Sonic or Dolby Atomos from the Windows Store. Dolby Atomos is Corsair-recommended, but iCUE does not handle this integration gracefully. Windows struggles to negotiate audio processing between iCUE and Dolby Atomos, resulting in delayed pre-caching and extended load times of 30-45 seconds per instance. Opening a dozen YouTube tabs and waiting a minute for each one to play nice with Dolby and iCUE, freezing my whole PC during the wait, makes listening to music or watching videos painful. Corsair's "recommended feature" - and part of the premium expense of this product - is better off completely ignored. The HS80's volume wheel has a click-in button that lets you switch between Equalizer presets. This only toggles iCUE's built in stereo equalizer - which gets disabled if you utilize Windows Sonic or Dolby Atomos. This click-in button can't be remapped in iCUE. Another premium feature that is totally worthless in practice. Microphone sidetone settings constantly reset because iCUE can't remember an on/off binary state. iCUE has never handled sidetone correctly in the past 3 years I've used multiple Corsair headsets so this is not a surprise. If you prefer sidetone, you'll never forget to constantly re-enable it with the HS80, because iCUE can't be bothered to do it right. iCUE does not handle wandering gracefully - you are "wireless" but not totally untethered from your desk. Walking out of wireless dongle range causes problems. The headset will reconnect, but sometimes audio processing will become corrupted, or your microphone output will sound higher or lower pitched to listeners. Your friends will tell you your mic is broken after they're done laughing or complaining in VC. Plugging power into the headset to recharge it midway through a gaming session causes the entire headset to turn off and on again, which can cause iCUE to crash. Turning the headset off and plugging it in to charge while still using the computer can cause iCUE to crash. Exiting wireless range can cause iCUE to crash. Troubleshooting surround audio can cause iCUE to crash. Nothing about the premium features justifying this headset's price are supported by the software responsible for making it all work. If you don't mind troubleshooting your own PC this is a great headset. If you want something that just works, buy a wired Corsair headset, or go for a different non-Corsair wireless brand.
