It works great for that. The resistance is very low -- seems to be real copper with a light adhesive backing. The ONLY issue is that because the width that I purchased (1/8 inch) is so narrow, the tape had a strong tendency to come off its roll and get all tangled up. The tape was sent securely sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard and sealed in a plastic bag. If you purchase the 1/8" width size of this tape, I strongly suggest leaving it between the cardboard to keep it from unraveling and carefully unrolling a little bit at a time as you need it. Again, it has a strong tendency to get all tangled up. Update: Yay! This tape takes to soldering with traditional 60/40 tin/lead solder very well. I taped it to an existing circuit board, used a lot of flux on the exposed copper surface, and the solder flows smoothly and holds to it very well. I'm not sure if the adhesive would have eventually broken down from the heat of the soldering iron, but for the short amount of time that my soldering iron was actually on the copper tape, it wasn't long enough/not enough heat to break down the adhesion to the circuit board before the solder did its job. The adhesive acts as an insulation, although I have no idea how long it will last before it breaks down, so I'm not trusting it to be used by itself as an insulation. What it does mean is that to "connect" from one piece of this tape to another, I can't just simply tape one piece over another -- I have to bridge the two pieces with a solder joint. Easy enough to do since the exposed copper side is very much compatible with ordinary tin/lead solder. So far, this tape has exceeded my expectations for what I need it to do... serve as additional traces on an existing circuit board. Review: Works as a snail repellant - We live in an area that backs up to open land. There are zillions of snails, many of whom like the lush plantings in our yard. I have tried putting up signs, sending emails, even snail mail, asking the snails to stay out, but alas, they failed to heed my sincere requests. I found that hand picking them is the absolute best way to get rid of them as they are homing creatures. For amusement,I decided to keep a daily gathering count. In one month, going out with a plastic shopping bag every morning about 6, I picked up 4000 snails. I'm not kidding! After a while, the idea of collecting bag after bag of snails like an Easter egg hunt lost its excitement and I decided to try the copper strip outside my fence line. I couldn't make the whole run of my fence line but it definitely helped. I used landscape pins to anchor it to the dirt since obviously, the sticky backing was not going to work in my application. The few cheeky intruders who made it by the barrier are no longer with us. It was wet work and I will spare you the detail. I wrapped it around my compost bin as well. Snails love garbage. A word of caution, the edge of this stuff is razor sharp and will give all snail hunters a nasty cut so be careful when you are unrolling. Be sure to wear gloves that can stand a cut. So far, no snail has bitten me, but I'm prepared with anti snail venom, just in case. As a final caution, don't leave any bag of snails in the trash in hot weather. Enough said.

Works as a snail repellant

Great tape to seal aluminum foil for your Faraday Cage...
I used this along with heavy-duty foil to create a faraday cage for my backup power system. The tape works really well, so well that you have to be careful in how you apply it. I started out by pealing back the entire length I needed, with the idea that I could tap it down at either end, then smooth it in the middle. Oops! It is on a coil, so it tends to twist. If it touches itself, you will have great difficulty getting it apart - probably not. Great adhesive, so just peel back a little at a time. Go over it carefully: the edges might not be quite sealed, so pressing along the entire edge is important. Once sealed, it will not come off. I recommend this product for those who are wanting some protection from a possible EMP event.

did what I wanted it to
I got this for shielding the cavities of my guitars to reduce hum and "string click." It performs remarkably well, and is easy to cut and shape, and seems to deliver on its promise of having conductive adhesive so you don't have to solder joints between pieces. But you can solder wire to it if you want in order to connect a ground. Some people reported having success using it to deter slugs, so I gave it to a friend with a slug problem and it had no effect whatsoever. My chief complaints about it are that for one, it's not actually solid copper. It seems to be a cheaper metal like aluminum and then electroplated with copper. You can scratch it and reveal a silvery metal underneath. For what you pay for it, you'd expect it to be solid copper, since copper is so expensive. It does do what it promises to do as far as shielding is concerned so I can't protest too much, but be honest about what you're getting. My other complaint is that the adhesive wasn't actually as strong as I expected. I don't know what I expected, but at least for pressing it into guitar cavities, it would hardly adhere to the wood at all. Using small pieces to try to cover up gaps, it wouldn't adhere very strongly to itself either. However, overall it did what I wanted it to do and did it well, so these are minor complaints in spite of a major net effect.

Seems to be keeping the snails away just fine!
My wife said we were starting to have snail problems, so I did some research online, then bought a roll of this tape and a pack of copper nails ( http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000PAWZJO/ ) to hold it to my treated-wood raised vegetable beds. I taped down the center of the 2" walls, putting a nail in every couple feet, plus one each time I joined two pieces of tape together (most of my runs were in the 4-5 foot length, for ease of handling). I also put 3-4" lengths of tape around my drip-feed hoses, where they went over the walls, so the snails wouldn't be able to use them as "bypass bridges". We've seen no snails in our vegetable beds, and our new veggies are doing great! Caution: this tape really is copper. I tried to smooth some tape that was sticking up a little, and gave myself quite a "paper cut". I suspect it would be able to do that through thinner leather gloves, too...

Great for props!
I make props out of wood for costumes and aluminum foil tape is what I use on them to make them look realistic. I had an order that wanted bronze or copper on it and this was just what I needed to make it look good. I will say though if you are like me and use it for props it does the same thing any copper will do when it's handled too much, it will start to tarnish and it doesn't take much for copper to tarnish. Luckily the customer wanted some weathering done on the prop, so it looked fine. All in all, I'll be getting a lot of use out of this. 40 bucks well spent. Other thoughts: Like aluminum tape, it is very easy to peal away from it's backing. However, if it happens to stick to itself, that's it for that piece and you might as well get another. Once it sticks to itself, it's not coming apart, so becareful pealing larger strips. The best way I found was to hold one end and before you take the tape completely off the strip, grab and hold the other end and apply it. If you don't catch the other end it will roll up onto itself of course. Great tape either way.

Conductive Tape Works Well
I used this to make tv antennas for my attic. Adhesive seems to hold OK on sealed cardboard but I did add a few lines of thermoplastic glue in strategic areas just in case the built in adhesive looses adhesion over time in this protected but harsh environment. An ohm test showed adhesive to be a good conductor but for my application I felt I needed even lower resistance. Following a quick swipe of a x-fine sanding sponge rosin core solder flowed like a dream. Using a 140W Weller soldering gun adhesive in area stayed put and the copper spread the heat so quickly the cardboard was not singed.

good product
KEEP IT IN THE CARBOARD!!! do not take it out of the cardboard or you will be sorry. The product works, the adhesive backing is pretty good too. This was a bit wider than I wanted, so I cut it down the middle to fix my rear window defroster. Never got the defroster to work though, not the fault of the product, the product showed 14v and continuity through out...I think maybe not enough resistance to heat up the foil. but for other projects this could come in handy.

DO NOT TAKE IT OUT OF THE BAG!!!!
This roll comes in a plastic bag, if you want to have your sanity leave it in the bag. I cut a small hole in the bag and spool out strips of this tape as I need it, you can cut it easily with common scissors. The only complaint I have is getting the paper backing off can be frustrating.
