A Wonderful Guitar
I've been without an electric guitar for 26 years. So after wanting to buy one, I settled on the Yamaha Pacifica 112VMX, and what a great bit of kit this is. It's really more than a beginner's guitar, and for the price is a bargain.Like:1: The guitar came well packaged.2 The guitar is fantastic to play, and feels good in the hand.3: The string height (action) is good and very playable.4: The Intonation (how well the guitar stays in tune throughout the neck) was spot on.5: The frets are not sharp at the edges except for the last couple.6: The pickups sound great.7: The arm is super smooth.8: The nut is pretty good, notes do not stick or ping from the nut.9: The price is a bargain.Dislike1:The factory string that are on the guitar will blacken your fingers and the fretboard if you play for long periods. You can use some alcohol wipes or a very damp cloth to clean the fretboard. I replaced the strings. The factory gauge strings were size 9-42. Amazon have a great choice of strings.2: The scratch plate is a dust magnet.3: The Nut Tree could be better (the Nut Tree is the metal device holding down the bottom two strings at the head). I replaced it with a Graphtech PT-7004-00 one. Amazon also sells them.4: The Tremolo is not floating, meaning you can't pull the Tremolo up, only down.5: The Tremolo arm is quite loose. To fix this, consider adding a Fender Tremolo arm spring. eBay is you friend. UPDATE: The hole for the arm has been drilled all the way through so the spring will just fall out.6: I found the sustain (how long a note or chord rings once struck) could be better. It's reasonable but using higher gauge strings, and taking a spring off the Tremolo system, (there are 3 springs on the Tremolo system that give it tension) should improve this.7: The tension on the Tremolo is quite high.Obviously, each guitar is slightly different, so I can only vouch for my copy. Yamaha have been spot on with mine so the quality control is good. Every guitar can be improved with a professional 'Set Up'. I was really pleasantly surprised at how well this guitar is made and plays. Except for my number one dislike, the guitar is amazing as it comes. I'm just an older player who wants a Fender for a third of the price. :-) Enjoy your new guitar. 🎸

Great all round guitar.
Yamaha quality and great sound make this a good choice for amater or pro with an action that would be perfect for a beginner. Y tube reviews say it all.

Excellent guitar for the price
One of the best premium starters models with the standard single single humbucker configuration. If you can afford it get this guitar as your starter.

We (my son and I) absolutelly love it, would buy again - when/if we decide to upgrade, we'll probably consider this brand again!

Don’t waste your money on anything else.
Absolutely First Class Guitar. I have owned Fender Guitars in the past. This Pacifica plays them all right under the table. Near perfect right out the box. No messing around with it what so ever. I would highly recommend this musical instrument hand on heart. Don’t waste your money on anything else.
