High quality struts
These are amazing. I used them for a trap door. The weight is calibrated properly. Very quick and easy install. It's sturdy and durable. It's easily compatible since it has a swivel and the functionality is exact as described.

Perfect Factory Replacment Upgrade for Peterbilt 579 & Kenworth T680
I spent probably more time than I should researching this product. Maybe my pain will save you some trouble. After adding a luxury mattress into my 2016 Peterbilt 579, I found that the weight of the mattress had the factory shocks buckling under the pressure. So many times I wacked my head on my bunk or couldn't grab something because the shocks couldn't hold up the heavy mattress. I'll admit I guessed as to the weight when I ordered the 100lb option but I was glad I did. I can now lift the bunk with just fingers let alone one hand. A task that I struggled to do with two hands before. The weight of the Minimizer mattress makes closing it a breeze too. For Kenworth and Peterbilt these are the perfect length 23" and they are bolt on to the factory brackets. I opted to use the factory nylon insert nuts vs the ones that came with this kit. If you use the nuts they send just use some locktite. No need to use the brackets as the ones already on our trucks are exactly the same. However I did keep them as back up in the unlikely event that one of my factory ones broke. This product is stellar and I am a very satisfied customer. It makes my day that I can grab something from the under bunk storage without having to fight with one hand to hold the bed up or worse banging my head on the sharp lock under the bunk (that has happened before and it is not fun). Finally this product is far less expensive than other options and ai highly recommend this product!

Mounting bracket holes.
The struts are well-made and can take a heavy beating. The instructions were easy to follow and presented no issues for a DIY install. I also looked at several videos that explain the process in similar steps, which really helped. The only issue or fault encountered with it is the 8mm mounting holes. ENTIRELY too big. After several attempts to reduce the size of the hole using grommets. I gave up and ordered new brackets with 4mm mounting holes. After installing them on my Clam Lid for my worktable, I realized they were too strong for the weight, so I had to purchase another lift with half the capacity.

When I had a problem Arana was there
I try very hard to be honest about my reviews. This review is no exception. โAranaโ Gas Struts is a rare find. As customers we always expect everything to work and solve the problem, but what happens when things go awry, and you need help or product support, this is when you discover the true value of any company your dealing with. I happy to recommend โArana gas strutsโ as one of these rare companies, they had true concern on the installation and the performance of their product. In my case a replacement part was shipped overnight.

Wrong struts sent.
Ordered struts from ARANA for storage cabinet I have built. Lid weighs 93 pounds. Order was for a pair of 445N 20" struts. The vendor's description on Amazon specifically states they are for lids 85 to 110 pounds. I mounted them on the cabinet and lid. I am glad I had a safety strut in place when I released the lid because it came down very rapidly because they could not support the lid in any way, shape, or form. I began to check the order information, packaging, etc. to make sure I had not made an error. When I examined the shipping label on the plastic sleeve that contained the struts, I noticed the part description on the label had been altered. The load value 100 LB had been crossed out and the number 35 had been written above it in pen. No wonder the lid came down rapidly when I released it. I am assuming there was some kind of mix up during packaging somewhere during the process. Possibly the wrong label was put on the sleeve for a pair of 35 LB struts and it was manually corrected but the bar code was never updated. These struts are going back immediately for a refund. I will shop elsewhere for a proper pair of struts Be sure to read the label carefully if you purchased from ARANA. PS - If your life experience has taught you to be a skeptic like me your thoughts may be I did the overwrite. I can assure you T did not. It's so easy to return Amazon purchases it makes no sense to do so. Beside my printing has never been as good as what is on that label and now being in my mid 70's with arthritis in my fingers it's even worse.

Great product
Worked out excellent for my cellar door. I did have to move the location and angle to get the right strength/angle to hold the door up the way I wanted it. So, if you use these and they donโt work, just take a breath and take them back off, try again. This application used a 4x8, 3/4โ treated sheet of plywood along with 1x6 treated boards for the trim to make to more sturdy. Dang thing was heavy and dangerous if it falls. These gas shocks were the ticket. My wife can grab the handle and pull it up. Pulling it down is a bit stiff, but acceptable. I added a pull rope for underside so I can be down the stairs a bit. Great improvement and should last.

Weigh what you are planning to install them on.
Build quality is good. I highly recommend you accurately weigh whatever you intend to put the gas struts on. Then maybe consider adding ten to fifteen pounds to that weight. We got the gas struts for the weight range specified, installed them at the proper distances from the pivot point. And while they do assist in opening the door they do not slow the door down upon closing the last few inches. EDIT UPDATE: As others have said, the company does have good if not great customer service. They contacted me, apologized for it not being a better solution then refunded the purchase price. If I need such gas struts in the future, I will go to them again - but this time, as I mentioned in my initial review. I will strive for a completely accurate weight on whatever it is I'm installing them on and maybe add a few pound to round up to the next size. It really is critical you accurately weigh things.

Excellent Quality
Did what I wanted it to do. Good quality. Should have got 100lb ones as these were barely adequate for my project. That was my fault
