The best EDC spare Mag holster
I wear this every day as part of my EDC and it has not failed me. The Velcro is as strong as the day I bought it. I carry a P365 XMACRO 17rd metal mag with Hornady 135gr Critical Duty rounds and the leather just envelops it with ease! I actually worked a drill technic into my training for this holster. I know thereโs already a reloading technic called reloading but I wanted to get as familiar and as far as I possibly could with my gear. Just like if you get a new gun holster, you drill it and drill it and drill it until your lightning. Well hereโs how I drill this mag holster situated on my belt at 11 oโclock while I carry appendix. I call it RGPS. Rip-Grip-Press-Slam. โข RIP โข Rip the Velcro flap holding mag in holster. โข GRIP โข Grip the magazine and slide it out of holster. โข PRESS โข Press the magazine release on your handgun and drop the empty/malfunctioned mag out. โข SLAM โข Slam the spare mag home and if you do it hard enough itโll actually release the slide without having to add the extra step of pressing the slide release, that is, if you achieved slide lock in the first place and that will allow you to quickly get back into the fight, but if you didnโt achieve slide lock then youโll have to rack it but that alone should be incorporated into your malfunctioning drill. Anyway, I digressโฆ I love that I can take it on and off easily with the strap that wraps up, under my belt and comes down, overtop to Velcro in place. It retains the shape and the contours of the magazine. I LOVE the fact that it is in line with my belt and practically disappears under a shirt. Iโve tested this holster with my Glock 43X extended mag + just for ๐ฉ&๐คญ I thought Iโd throw in my 1911 single stack and just as I excepted, I HANDLED THEM FLAWLESSLY! Iโve attached photos detailing all this. As well as a photo of the magazines tested using this holster. In conclusion, this is not a bespoke, but it is a highly versatile, highly adaptable, HIGHLY RELIABLE magazine holster! I highly recommend this for anyone that needs an EDC mag holster thatโs not Kydex and isnโt straight up and down vertical crap. IF YOU WANT A GREAT LEATHER HOLSTER TO HOLD ONTO YOUR SPARE MAGAZINE AND KNOW IT WILL BE THERE IN THE SAME POSITION AS YOU PUT IT 10-14HOURS PRIOR IF GOD FORBID YOU ARE EVER PUT INTO A POSITION WHERE YOU NEED TO CHANGE MAGS, THEN BUY NOW!!!

versatile and comfortable
advertised as fitting multiple size pistol mags - so I got it to try with my LCP, SR9c and 1911 mags. I have wanted a horizontal mag carrier for a while- being a fat guy means that vertical carries can be a little uncomfortable. Got this in and found that it can indeed be put on a belt with one hand - in fact one handed is the easiest technique. I put my LCP mag in first, fit fine - clearly the LCP mag would not fit all way to the end of the carrier. LCP mag is easy to get out and doesn't flop around inside the carrier. Next I put a fully loaded 1911 mag in - fits perfect, very comfortable on the belt. Next I put in the 17rnd SR9c mag - fits tight, and the end flap barely close but it does fit. Swapped out the 17 rnd mag for the 10rnd mag and it fits perfect - a little tight and perfect length. Again, very comfortable to carry - never even know it's there. This carrier is very well made. Good solid stitching in what seems to be good quality leather. The velcro closures are heavy duty and well stitched onto the leather. I am wearing this on an 1 1/2 " Bladetech Looper gun belt and it works well together - the belt is very stiff yet comfortable to wear, especially with a holster and mag carrier. The mag carrier can be adjusted on the belt to hold as tight as you wish. Again, very easy to put on or take off without taking your belt off. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a horizontal mag carrier. Concealment and comfort are the factors I was looking for and this product delivered it.

Quite possibly the best single mag carrier for a civilian CC'er or Off Duty LEO.
I know many LEO's and EDC'ers who dont cRry an extra mag at all, ever. for one they feel theyre unlikely to get into a shooting, and if so, the rounds in their gun in their mind will suffice. i have thought that way as well, but lately ive started carrying an extra mag on my belt or pants or jacket pocket because of encountering either a malfunction or needing for some 1:1000000 odds of having running out of ammo. the stress of a dynamic encounter can cause bulletsto miss. So onto my review... I have several single and double mag carriers for my Glock 27 and Springfield XD9, both double and single that I've bought for training purposes but started wearing the single pouches lately. I still can't in my head wrap around the idea of needing 49 rounds in my XD. Comfort is very important to me since I carry 12-15 hours a day and since I've got a bit of a belly the requisite prodding and poking of your standard polymer carriers is something I've gotten unhappily used to. I have lived with it and am good at deploying from these carriers to do malfunction drills and emergency and tactical reloads. Thank god I've never had to tactically deploy my weapon for anything life threatening. When I came across a leather pouch that fits horizontally on either side (both lefties and righties can use it) it just depends on whether you insert the tab up or down behind the belt. In fact regardless of which side you use you can do the same placement if you choose to draw the mag back out or frontward. I choose back out with the mag inserted bullets facing down so I can easily index the top cartridge to do a magazine change. The fact that its soft and horizontal is absolutely comfy. Nothing to poke or prod. I cannot say truly one bad thing about this pouch other than you must(MUST) get the proper size for your magazine. I've seen reviews here where the mag didnt fit properly and then checking Safarilands site [...] it shows a fitment chart. I highly recommend that you check there first. For instance the length and width of my XD9 16 rounder is just perfect, clearly though it wouldn't fit a XD45 easily. Now leather will stretch so it may work but do yourself a favor and order the right one. I tried putting my Glock 27 mag in, it fits much more snugly but over time I could see the leather stretching, but it is so short, holding 9 rounds I leaves a lot of wasted room. Nevertheless, it would work, but I'd be better off buying the correct model. I have the 123-18-2. A reviewer complained giving a poor review because his G36 mag didn't fit...well he needed the 123-83-2. As of now thats the model for Glock magazines, though my sub compact of course isn't listed due to its short length but it is workable. I can but won't stretch what I am using now to fit the G27 mag because I'm afraid that would loosen up the model I have and no longer hold the XD9 mag snugly. I love it and for like 15 bucks on Amazon, you can't go wrong.

2 straps can make it a keeper
This seemed to be what a lot of folks used for edc. The advertisement pics have been poor in terms of letting you the connection method of mounting however. I actually liked the strap because it allowed you to put on and take off without undoing your belt. Unfortunately the strap is wide on the back and then tapers going to the front. This does two things for me one it allows the holder to rock on the ends. Second I can't mount my knife behind my mag holder because the strap runs down the center. My goal was to have one spot to reach for my other items and not have one in front of the other on my belt. It just barely fit my 16 round my mod2 SC magazine. This wasn't actually bad though because it made less velcro to have to disconnect and it was actually a very snug fit. I ended up returning because I don't like that it can rock on my belt or that I have to put my mag in front of my knife or vice versa. As much as people want to look like Batman or policeman with a duty belt, I don't. I don't want a whole bunch of stuff hanging off my waist like a Christmas tree. I only recently started carrying a second mag because of something I heard about somebody's mag floor plate coming off and then not having bullets in a dire situation. Ive personally had a wrong size pistol holster, release my mag once i sat down and when I stood up, my magazine just fell out on the ground. You want to carry comfortable and you want to carry discreet. Very nice designed mag holder, but didn't check all the boxes for how I want to carry.

Fits my 1911 mags and more!
I got this for my Kahr P45 6-round magazine. It works like a champ. Also tried my 1911 8-round mags, no problem. Now a 10-round single stack 1911 mag? No dice, it will not fit at all. That's fine, it works with single stack and I am pretty sure it will work with others that I have. of course if the mag is too big you need a different model. I got this solely for being horizontal but I have learned much more: 1. Vertical mags are fine but I'm not built like a chimney and anything sticking up above my belt line is going to have to fight for space if you know what I mean. That means I'm going to get poked and grabbing a mag will be that much slower. 2. It looks like a cell phone case or a pipe case. And why not! Why do concealable mag cases need to look like something the Adam-12 folks wear on duty? I'm not subject to inspection so I don't need patent leather and all the shiny stuff. Just hold my mag please. Now if the case gets exposed it won't shout that there is a firearm nearby. 3. The entire mag is covered! Cool! That means less chance of something snagging it, bumping it, spilling on it, or soiling it. Also less a chance that it can fall out yet I can still grab and rip at better speeds than a vertical mag holder. 4. Yay for Velcro! I had a really cool mag case but it would not fit on my favorite belt. Then what's the point? A 2" belt may be 2.01" and a 2" mag slide may be 1.99". Either way there is no flexibility there. The Velcro lets me adjust the tightness and width accordingly. 5. Putting this on after already having your belt on is easy. You slide the leather up under your belt, then roll the mag upwards and then attach the Velcro from the top. Very easy. You are not fidgeting with small pieces of material in a tight space at an odd angle. You can even harness this to yourself one handed. And I suppose if you want this on your other side (I wear it on my left) then install it upside down with the leather going down behind your belt and not up. You can also remove your belt and have the case drop to the floor (or catch it) rather than fighting with it before you can pull the belt any further. 6. Love the material. I had debated getting something in nylon or something ripstop, but being at waist level it may compete with me for the amount of food that it can attract. When I remove it at the end of the day it is as clean as when I put it on. One less thing to clean. 7. The end cover piece...well you can pull it right and use all the Velcro and your mag is snug (assuming it fits in the first place). Or you can connect the Velcro right on the very end. While the mag may slide around a little it will not fall out or make any noise, but there is that much less Velcro to yoink when you remove your mag. Think of it like adjustable tension. 8. No drama. I searched online for a mag case, found this one, then googled others and found ones that appear the same for 2x the cost. Even here on Amazon here are different models and the tiny images they show you do not tell you really what the differences are. Well fret not and just get one. Unless you are replacing the exact same model for some reason, they all do the same thing. They hold the mag horizontally. Let's not make that an expensive drama. You're not missing anything. Well there is probably more but if you have read all this and are still undecided then I have to wonder how long it took you to pick your socks out of your drawer this morning. If it takes you longer to choose socks than it does to read this, then by all means write to the manufacturer for a spec sheet. The rest of us, well just click buy and there you go. I'd check the manufacturer site to make sure it worked with my mags if I had something unusual. But a 1911 is easy and that's a pretty well known standard size. So there you go, no more guess work, and a deal at twice the price!

Good for 9mm mags, including double mags
AI said good for double stack 45acp, it is not correct. It appears well made . Made in Mexico.

comfortable way to carry a spare G43X mag
I wrapped the magazine in paper and let it sit in the holder overnight, and then added more paper every night for bout 3 or 4 days. Now the magazine holder is stretched out, and the magazine fits perfectly, allowing me to remove it easily. The thing with leather items when it comes to EDC is that you have to stretch and fit the material to get the perfect fit for YOU. This isn't Kydex that comes pre-sized and cut with adjustable retention. If you put anything besides a single-stack 1911 magazine in this, the fit will be tight and require a break-in period. My G43X, which has a slightly staggered single-stack OEM magazine, was a tight fit. But now it slides out with ease. As for the comfort, this thing is great. I'm fat (it happens), so having a modern Kydex spare magazine holder where the magazine sits upright was uncomfortable, and the magazine was always sticking into my side as I moved around. Not only does that not happen with the leather safari, but it also will not print. If my shirt works its way up and over the holder, the magazine is fully encased, and this doesn't look like a tactical device. That offers an additional level of concealment.

Four years later, still holding up strong
I bought this in August 2016, and it's held up like a champ since then. Some of the stitching has fuzzies coming off it and the velcro certainly shows its usage, but it hasn't affected the functionality one little bit. After four years of carrying it daily, at work and at home, and doing regular reloading drills with it, it's held up admirably. Comfort-wise it delivers as you'd expect; the horizontal positioning spares you any poking if you need to bend over or flex for work. Another benefit is the total concealment of the magazine; a blued magazine, especially, vanishes from sight in the dark leather. Horizontal carry makes it even harder to recognize. Reloading from this carrier is not difficult if you practice - I decided on carrying with the front of the magazine facing up, so when pinching it with my off hand and drawing, it would be in the right orientation as I rotate my wrist to address the pistol's magwell. One tip - press the belt loop down onto the velcro first, then the closing flap, so the latter won't overlap the former and resist you when you try to open it in a hurry. I purchased the version suited for my 1911's single-stack magazines. After I switched to a dual carrier for that, this one also holds a single, smaller magazine for my 9mm Makarov with no problem and no wobbling. Overall I'm very pleased with my $20 investment four years ago. For the price, this is hard to beat.
