Best felting mat I’ve used. So much better than the synthetic ones. Yes, the work does stick to it but felting ALWAYS sticks to the mat if you don’t lift it regularly as you work. I actually find it sticks less to this mat than to any other I’ve used. I would definitely recommend and use no other from now on.

I bought this felting pad to replace my old dried out foam mats. I ordered it in beige yet received what I would say is a medium brownish color although the sticker on the cellophane wrapper said "beige." It could be monitor color issues, but I don't think anyone would call this beige. This is the sole reason for a 4-star review. The mat is soft and allows the felting needle to penetrate more so than my solid felted mat which is good for other applications and this type won't dry out and disintegrate like the foam ones. I read some reviews which complained about work getting stuck (felted) onto the mat. This is caused by improper use and can be prevented by moving the work often so it doesn't felt to the mat. The video in the product description clearly states this and any experienced needle-felter understands this. Time will tell if this holds up well and turns out to be a good value, but so far it seems like it's what I expected and wanted. If the seller could get more consistent on the colors, it would be a 5-star product. Happy felting, all! UPDATE: I have changed my rating to 5 stars. Since using this mat for many months and lots of felting projects, I have to say that it deserves 5 stars, despite my comments above regarding the color. I now use it almost exclusively, especially for flat work and I love it. I clean it with a sticky lint roller to remove unwanted fibers from transferring to my next project and find this does the job. I don't hesitate to recommend this mat to my fellow needle-felters
