This is a fantastic piece of equipment. I had so many same type of cables I had no idea if they were data or charging. This tester allowed me to separate types, working or not working cables.

I'm a live sound engineer and can say one of these are in every pro-audio company's workbox I've ever encountered. I recently started a mid-level recording studio and this saved me several hours testing cables I was making as I wired the place up. If you are making your own cables, even semi-frequently, this will save you several hours of banging your head against the wall wondering why your signal won't come through.

For the price, this is a good tester. I play in bands and deal with many kinds of cables not to mention being the computer guy at home who sets up the network and troubleshoots PC issues for my family, so a tester like this is ESSENTIAL! But, a couple of things to be aware before you purchase: 1) No USB-C connectors, so you can't easily test these cables. You'll need another tester. 2) Although this has "banana" plug jacks, it DOES NOT COME WITH probes to plug into them that enable general electrical testing. Apparently you have to purchase those separately. 3) You cannot directly test banana plug cables with this. Those cables have plugs on each end with two prongs and there's no jacks for that (not the same as the single pair banana jack they have on this unit). However, if you get the probes previously mentioned, you can plug them into the two banana jacks and do a general electrical test on one wire at a time in your banana cable.

Sturdy and well-built product that I will use all the time. It was easy enough to figure out the basics, but I wish it could go further, maybe with some instructions. It's kind of a good or bad result. It either works or it doesn't, instead of indicating a short or wrong pin configuration. It's just a quick way to check if a wire is functioning but not how well it is doing it. Still, it's a great tool to save time when unsure if a cable is working. I like that it tests HDMI, audio, video, and networking cables.

Nice product. The photos are outdated, although some customer photos are correct -- this DOES test USB-C. I've only had it a day but tested multiple XLR, 1/4", and various USB-type cables. I quickly found the 1 XLR that had kept failing me at gigs but then ended up back in the pile with all the other cables. I haven't had any problems with the battery compartment, as had been reported by others. One note: pay attention to your battery strength. I initially thought this was defective because the battery indicator would light bright green but individual line lights were very faint (to the point that I was testing cables in a dark closet). Turned out my 9v battery only had 3v left, and that appeared to affect the lines being tested but not the battery indicator. Weird. In any event, I put in a new 9v battery and all is well. Great tool to have.

This is ideal for my pat testing does most cables I have tested all my equipment all in good working order One downfall is that I wonder if its been sent back by another customer as it looks like the battery compartment has a little plastic chip off Can live with that Would I purchase another defiantly
