Good gift idea
The media could not be loaded. This is a cool gift for someone who likes space! I bought it to add it to my bfs bday gifts since he’s redoing his room. This is a great add on to a space theme for kids or adults! Looks sleek and nice not cheap :) good price too

Beautiful planet display
Perfect size for my desk. Love the different gemstones with a description of their significance. The planets are displayed nicely on a wooden base with an inscription of their names.

Some real, some fake, but a decent kit for the price
I saw this and thought it would be fun to have on my desk, and my wife liked it since she had a geology course recently where they also studied minerals and planets. Initial aspects of this set are pretty good, and pretty much representative of the pictures with a few exceptions. I bought the 9 planet set because I also wanted Pluto (yes, I know that hard core folks don't consider it a planet anymore), to represent all planets in an astrologic chart as well as astronomy. The good:The packaging is sharp, the boxes tight fitting with crisp corners. The wood platform is great, rounded corners, and nicely monogrammed (names on front, planetary ring around hole where Saturn sits) with nice even spacing between each sphere, and although they are of different sizes, has nice visual proportion. The colors of the planets are vibrant. An attempt was made in sizing the planets according to their size, so I like that aspect. This set does fairly differentiate a size on the planets in regard to being able to determine size from largest to smallest. Also, to be fair with this, if they did true proportion, Jupiter would be as stone the size of a basketball, Saturn a volleyball, and Pluto and Mercury would be grains of sand, so one shouldn't complain too badly. The bad:If you are looking for true gemstones, this kit is sitting at 55.56%, possibly 66.67% if Venus proves natural. Only 5 appear to be true natural gemstones that pretty accurately resemble the colors/patterns of the planets (Mercury - gray labradorite, Earth - sodalite with white streaking, Mars - red and black obsidian, Jupiter - tiger's eye, Pluto - strawberry stone). The others are either synthetic or glass marbles. For details on this: Saturn is too homogenous yellow to be yellow onyx (could have used a banded yellow agate or a yellow jade that would have been a better representation of the striated pattern of Saturn). Uranus is not true green aventurine, again, a simulated homogeneous green glass, ceramic, or resin product. Neptune is supposed to be cat's eye stone, and is instead a simulation using blue fiber optic glass (also, the image on the purchase page showed a different stone supposed turquoise, but probably turquoise colored resin composite, or a dyed howlite stone). Venus is hard to tell, it is supposed to be natural woodgrain stone, but it is too homogeneous butterscotch color without any real striation like natural stone (it could be natural and was just machined from a broad homogeneous band in the stone, or it could be composite resin or something). Picture jasper would have been a very suitable and inexpensive gemstone to include with a pattern more representative of Venus. All in all, I will keep the set, and will probably replace the faux stones with actual real stones of the type in the information booklet, or with ones I feel better represent the true colors and patterns of those planets. I am also purchasing larger stones for the big planets and looking to make my own handmade solar system starting with 50mm (2 inch) tiger's eye for Jupiter down to 10mm (3/8") and scaling the middle planets from there, all of which will use natural stones representing color and pattern. Likely will be much more costly, but this kit is definitely hanging around and a good impetus to assemble the tout naturel version.

Perfect
I bought this for my 12yo son. This product is exactly what I was expecting and hoping for. The wood stand seems to be a quality wood.

A company named "gemwonder".... I've just been left wondering what these spheres actually are!?!
So I own a crystal shop thought these would be amazing to sell, and they will be after I source a green aventurine 22ish mm sphere to replace whatever this synthetic looking crap they sent is!!! Luckily I randomly had a yellow calcite sphere close enough in diameter to make this set worthy of being sold in an actual metaphysical shop!!! Maybe a great gift for a kid or someone who doesn't mind not having a synthetic crystal from a company named "gemwonder".... I've just been left wondering what these spheres actually are!?!
