Is this combination square as accurate as a less expensive fixed square? I get that it is versatile, but is a riveted square more accurate?

I have 5 of these type adjustalle squares...4 of them I have accumulated over many years. None of the old ones are perfect in every way....either they aren't absolutely perfectly square or the bubble level is off. I got tired of that crap quality so finally bit the bullet and got the Starrett knowing if it wasn't flawless I could return it. It is absolutely flawless. The more demanding test is to take a marking knife and scribe a line on a panel, flip the square over and insert the tip of the marking knife in the previous line. Now scribe a line on top and compare. The Starrett was perfect at 90 degrees and 45 degrees. And the bubble level agreed with my very expensive machinists digital level. Only con....it is expensive but worth it if you value accuracy.

Does it come with a starrett box?

It comes in a box with the starrett logo on it...if you're asking if it comes with a protective case then no.

Any issues with rust on this square? I live in FL, so the humidity really takes a toll on my tools.

I live on the coast of northern CA. The humidity is probably not quite as brutal as FL, but in the few months I’ve had this square, I see no rust haze. Though I’ve yet to use it, camilla oil is good insurance.
