Cast Iron Baker’s Skillet 10.25 inch

The perfect pan for us dedicated fry-up fanatics. The perfect size, the perfect weight, base is flat as glass for a halogen hob, non-stick out of the box and will fit in any British oven for those who want to season the pan before use and/or after cleaning. It'll outlive you and your Grandchildren absolutely indestructible. For most of us chaps, it's the only pan you'll ever need. Teflon coated 'non-stick' pans are a nasty gimmick, chuck 'em all in the bin and get some proper heavy metal in your life.

I bought this to use in our Minimax Big Green Egg. It's much lower cost than the Big Green Egg branded version, and given that it's made by Lodge, has a great pedigree. I'm very happy with the results so far. I mainly use it as a high sided searing surface so that I can keep the meat juices for sauces and stocks. The pictures are from cooking pan-seared duck breast and mushrooms using the Lodge pan.

The packing was flimsy, no lodge authentic box ,just wrapped in plastic bag inside an amazon box that was in poor condition when it arrived.

I’m a Lodge fan and have so much of it but didn’t have this as it’s not available in the UK … a week after ordering from Amazon USA it arrived safely and within a short while of its arrival it was baking the most amazing herb & garlic tear&share dinner rolls. They baked perfectly and came straight out of the pan. Ready seasoned and good to go, what can’t you cook in these is a better question that what can you. Almost everything. Invaluable in my kitchen. Lodge is the best and thank you Amazon USA for swift & safe delivery to Scotland xx

Have been using it to make pasta and pizza, really good quality pan, sturdy and makes pizza making a lot easier with two handles.

I was very excited when this first arrived and I got a couple of uses from it with great results. Unfortunately, however, it cracked during the last use, which was within Lodge's recommended guidelines. I'm out of the return window so I guess I'm stuck with it. I'm sure it will still be ok for baking in the oven but it's not going to become the 'heirloom pan' they talk about in the description!

In UK and received from US, got a 5cm crack in side out the skillet. Very disappointed. If return, have to deduct more than 5 pound.

Sturdy, healthy and easy to maintain, if have used cast iron b4.

Low quality and it will loose its seasoning coat very fast. Then, your food will become black, full of this lodge black. DON'T BUY Lodge online, since it may be not a genuine, maybe another duplicated product.

I picked the Baker's skillet over the traditional skillet (with the handle) as this is much lighter (without the long handle), easier to store (handles are trickier to store in my cupboard) and it's going into the oven. The handles felt smooth and nice to hold. Not too heavy for me and Sides are 2" high. It was bigger than I expected. It arrived quickly and as I was making focaccia, I used it straight away out of the box (after handwashing it). No problems with it and I was very impressed from that first use. Easy to clean. Just used hot water and my dish sponge (the blue one for non-stick cookware). I know with regular use, the will only get better, smoother and more non stick. Very happy I bought it!
