Great for smaller jobs
I lived tucked on a mountain in a cove so I don't really have a 'yard' but lots of trees and rock and vegetation that I leave wild. However, on the sides of my driveway, in my driveway that's not paved, and a couple of other places, I have to clean it up a little a few times a year in the spring and summer or it becomes a bit of a problem. This battery operated Worx trimmer does the job efficiently, easily, and quickly. I already had a 20v Worx battery so I only needed the unit. I worried the 20v wouldn't be enough, but it's plenty. This thing chewed through growth pretty impressively. Don't forget your protective eyewear--I did at first and something splatted in my eye to remind me. The battery life is decent - I finished what I needed to do before the battery went dead but if I had two batteries, I'd be able to switch them out and do a little more as there were a couple of places I missed. That written, I did have a lot to do as our spring growth has been huge this year. Keeping up with those areas going forward, the one battery will be plenty to do the job. Easy to use. Lightweight. Price is reasonable. The only thing to 'put together' is the hood thing and all you need to do is take out the little screw, push in the hood, and then screw back in the screw - it took a minute. The string spool was already in place. Likely I'd re-string it so I won't have plastic going in the landfill. I wash mine off after use as it can have a lot of chewed up vegetation stuck to it. That will extend its life. Also, don't leave the battery plugged in constantly as that will shorten battery life. Once it's charged, unplug it. I like Worx, and I really like the battery share component.

Works great.
Great tool. Works great like my older model. My older model broke down after many years of use.

Works well, get a battery adapter to run your current batteries
I was reluctant to switch over to electric, but am pretty happy with my purchase. First, get a battery adapter to adapt your current 20v power tool batteries to the Worx trimmer, blower, etc. I own Dewalt, so I purchased an adapter here for $20. That way you save some money not having to buy the Worx batteries. 2nd, don't expect it to cut like your old gas trimmer. It doesn't have the grunt that a gasser has, so if you have really overgrown edges you will have to slow down and let it cut at it's own speed. If your edges are trimmed weekly, it will handle it with ease. I'm an aggressive trimmer lol, and I had to learn to slow down and let it do its job. It cuts way smoother than my gas trimmer, and leaves a nice clean swath. It's more controllable than traditional ones, but take the time to adjust the head and handle angle to suit your needs, trust me on this one it'll save you some headache. Downside is my fingers get fatigued from holding the trigger down. Not sure why it's any different from holding the throttle on my old one, but I noticed it. Now the question everybody wants the answer to, battery life was great with a 20v 4ah. I basically have 3 yards, front, side, and back. With the back having extensive trimming needs. The 4ah battery lasted for all 3 and had one and a half bars out of 3 left. I was impressed. No noticeable drop in performance towards the end either. I also tried a cheap no name brand 20v 4ah battery with the same results. So it'll take whatever you give it. As for Quality, it feels like it should last a while. It's fairly light, and balanced ok. Line spools are very small, so I was worried about that, but I used way less line than I would have with my gas trimmer. Actually, I did all 3 yards without having to change spools. Oh yeah, get the pack of 6 or 8 extra spools, you won't regret the $12 investment. Overall, I'm happy with it and would buy again. Just remember to give it a few times of use so you can adjust to it.

Another Great Tool from Worx that Really Does the Job!
I do have a powerful gas trimmer, but it’s considerably more heavy and so, so much harder to start than this Worx, battery powered trimmer! I do have other Worx products, batteries and chargers because I know they will always work. I really trust the name! This WORX trimmer works really well for lightweight to medium heavy weeds despite it only having the string come out one side of the head instead of both! It is so easy to adjust the length and position of the handle of this trimmer for your height and comfort to operate. I love being able to dispense more length of string when you need it with a simple push of a button; no need to bounce it off the ground hoping that will work. Just turn it on its side and roll the support wheels on the sidewalk or grass to edge. I have a couple of different 20V/Ah batteries that I can use for my different Worx tools and depending on the size of the job to make sure they last. Great tool. Great company. I wholeheartedly recommend this tool.

This is a much better trimmer than anything else I've tried. The heavy-duty plastic line cuts easily and simply does not wear out. I looked at the small line spools and thought I'd be switching them out fairly often, but I haven't touched the first one after a couple months of weekly use. In fact, I've hardly advanced the line and still have plenty out. The batteries are compact, long-lasting (can trim a 1/2 acre lot with lots of gardens on one charge), and quickly recharge (less than an hour from spent). One of my better purchases.

..not sure why Worx offer this in the UK based on their "Powershare" philosophy. In general I like Worx stuff, and they are my "go to" DIY powertool company. As I already have their drill I recently opted for one of their cordless hedge trimmers as I checked and was advised that despite being quite old my drill batteries would fit. On the back of that i then ordered the above cordless strimmer as it looked really nice and generally had good reviews. As I already now had 3 batteries I asked Worx if they could source me a "bare" unit, (ie no batteries). When it arrived it was a bit disappointing to find that although advertised as a "power share" tool the batteries I had are not compatible??? Not sure why they would do this?? But now have the pain of sending it back and looking for an alternative!
