An awesome lens for your smart phone
First off, be aware that this is macro only. There are other kit options available that include wide angle and telephoto. This kit comes well packed in a plastic case. The clip is strong and does a good job holding the lens in place. I am using it on an iPhone X but have also tried it on an iPhone 6 plus. I orient the clip so it is braced against the phone so it is less likely to shift. Once in place it does pretty well staying in there. I have found that it does cover the camera icon on the screen and it does cover the one control when the camera is open. This has cost me a picture on occasion but it is not a big deal. the whole set will go in my pocket and it is easy to carry. There are two lenses in this kit. Both are 12X so with both in place you have a 24X image. You get some vignetting from the lens but if you use the screen zoom it takes care of that. Don't zoom too far though or it will quit working. You do have to get quite close to the object, especially in the 24X mode. The picture quality is quite good. Does it match up with an expensive macro lens on a full frame digital SLR? No, but this is inexpensive and the picture quality is better than acceptable. As with all macro lenses any motion in the camera or the object will cause blurring. If a tripod is not available or usable try to brace on something solid to reduce any motion. If using a tripod it can be worthwhile getting a remote shutter release. Another concern with any macro lens is that the depth of field will be quite flat. You can video with these lenses.Pro: small and easily carried.good picture qualityvery fun to useinexpensiveCon: small and easily lostit can shift so you have to reset the lensyou have to get very close to object--not a good idea when object will sting or biteI definitely recommend this lens setHave fun

Good product but doubt it's utility
It was good but not sure if I would use it on a regular basis. Placement of the lens correctly on the iPhone camera can be a bit challenging. Nice to have product but I am not sure how good it can be utilized on a regular basis.

24x is too much!
I love the 11x lens but I the the 24x is a bit too much. The pics are with my standard Pixel 6a camera then the 12x and finally the 24x.

Perfect for my needs!
Allows you to get amazing close up shots for a unbelievable low price! Just note: you have to get VERY close to the subject and it will require some practice and a steady hand.

Does not work!
Purchased for macro pictures of insects on flowers, which is shown as something you can do in the seller's images. You would literally need to lay the phone on top of the flower or insect (like a microscope) to get a clear picture. Otherwise, all you get is a fuzzy, blurry mess. I guess this would work if you wanted to photograph non-living things.

one of the few "macro lens ONLY" aftermarket lens packages
when I use aftermarket lens packages, I've noticed that the macro lens in that package gets the most use by far. I've also lost or broken a lot of those lenses. I have a Lifeproof Fre SHOT case for iPhone 6 which comes with a wide angle lens that screws right into the case (love it). I don't, however, ever USE the wide angle and was hoping this macro lens would. Well it did and I'm very happy with it. The price was very reasonable too. Olloclip makes a macro-only kit, but the $80 price tag is a bit more than I want to spend. The 24x macro has severe "vignetting" (only the center of image is in focus) and I'm not sure if that's unavoidable when one tries to magnify an iPhone camera that much but it does magnify the parts in focus effectively. Overall I'm pretty satisfied and would buy it again if I lost/broke it. I've included pics of the lens on my phone and some magnified lens of ben & jerry's ice cream and some pills that were laying around.Oh yeah, I DO use the clip when I need close ups on my iPad 10.5" and it fits well.

Excellent Macros with Flexibility due to 12x / 24x options
Purchased the Apexel Macro Lens on a chance, and was delighted to see the item exceeded my expectations. Nice padding on the clip on the front and rear, and the both the lenses were well threaded so it was easy to make the 24x option off, when shooting at 12x.Only minor improvement suggestion would be to include either a link to a how to video, or documentation but otherwise a product with excellent value. Nice padded plastic case to carry the lens was also included with polishing cloth.

I can't compare this to any other smartphone add-on lens ...
I can't compare this to any other smartphone add-on lens as this is my first. Position of this lens over the camera's lens is critical and takes a few extra seconds each time the lens is clipped on the phone. The phone's protective case needs to be removed. If you don't get the positioning correct the edges of the pictures will be blurred. Once you have the lens on properly, the picture is indeed a wider angle (see attached). If you zoom in and look at the book in each picture, you will see that the wide angle add-on lens softens/blurs the picture somewhat. However, there are some shots (small rooms in real estate photos, for example) where the loss of quality is the price you pay for a shot that can't be taken with just the phone's lens. For the price, I'm not all that unhappy. I wish someone would come up with a way to align the add-on lens.
