Amazing HDMI performance, well built, zero lag, everything old is new again
This is an amazing machine. It is well built and has most if not all the features of soldered HDMI upgrade PCBs I have seen and the price is not much more than those bare board kits. Another reviewer wished it was 1080 but 720P is 240 X 3 for a better scale and looks amazing on my 65" 4K TV. It runs off a simple 5V USB adapter so if it ever died the power adapter would be easy and cheap to replace. The menu has lots of features like control customization and graphics settings like emulated scan lines if you want that CRT look. So far it plays all my carts without problem. I have not tried the famicom port yet. I am running mine with those NES30 8bitdo bluetooth controllers and receivers and it is great. No lag, no cables and great range (I am playing from 12 feet away on my sofa). I have been wanting an HDMI NES since first reading about the AnalogueNT but wasn't about to drop $500-$1000 on one. This is a great deal for a well built machine.

Very good system for game compatibility!
The AVS is a good system for the retro gamer. Some games like Battletoads glitch on the second level. This system there is no glitch. Very good! I have seen this system featured on Angry Video Game Nerd. I like how there are four controller ports. When you get the system, the NES game cartridge port has a tight fit. If you can find a NES game genie, I suggest inserting it one time. Back in the day, the game genie had a PCB board that was a bit too thick than the standard game cartridge. By inserting the game genie, you safely widen the pins on the console. Very simular to the console produced by Analogue. This one is $500 and has a limited run. And in addition you can play famicom games. Have fun!

Finally, an affordable HD solution to the NES!
With all the hype currently surrounding Nintendo's own NES Classic Edition, its real intended audience are collectors and casual fans. If you really want to bring the NES experience into the twenty first century, than Retrousb's AVS is an excellent choice. Those who would argue that emulation is much cheaper and thefore better, miss you the point. All the ambiance is lost without the cartridges and controllers. The AVS manages to keep the full NES experience intact with a modern, pixel perfect picture. The actual console feels sturdy and looks fantastic keeping the front loading VCR like design of the original. The FPGA powering the AVS simulates the NES precisely. Every nuance and glitch is faithfully reproduced in high definition. Recent updates to the software allows for different pallet options to get the color just how you remember it. The ability to change the aspect ratio and add CRT scan lines really add to the authentic feel. If I have one minor gripe, it's that I can't play zapper games on the AVS. I hope there is a way to address this issue in the future. Perhaps with Wii remotes? I guess for the time being, I'll have to leave my original NES hooked up to a CRT to play everything, but I do love my AVS. It's a worthy update to my favorite console.

A modern day NES replacement
This retro usb avs is perfect for playing old nes and famicom games. This console looks similar to an NES and feels like I'm playing a brand new NES. The picture quality is amazing and in hd unlike using an original nes with composite cables . Modifying a vintage NES with RGB or HDMI is going to be expensive compared to purchasing a brand new retro usb avs. Compared to emulators like the retron 5, I see it has better compatibility with the cartridges and no lag. The only thing I must really stress is that you must clean the games before playing them. Unlike the retron 5, the Avs will have a scrambled picture or blank screen if you dont clean the games properly. If you're a retro gamer who wants to play original games on a system that doesn't use emulators, the retro usb avs is for you.

Works great and love it
Works great and love it!!!! Love the built in game genie. The China everdrive does not play all the games in the AVS that the original NES will. For example using the China version everdrive excite bike VS and punch out will not work using the AVS but will work on the original NES. There are a few othe game that will not play. I am going to get a official everdrive and see if those games will work. Also I have had it lock up using some game genie codes. Compared to the retron 5 the AVS is a lot better! Just comparie to the game play of Double Dragon. You will through your retron 5 in the trash. I love this Nintendo clone. I pre ordered a analogue NTmini last summer and when it come I will compare the two.

This is a great product when you have the latest firmware installed.
This is a great NES/Famicom FPGA system (there are chips that emulate the hardware so the system plays the games like the original systems). The console has 4 controller ports, a port for both NES and Famicom games, and programed with different audio and video choices. It even has a game genie programed into it. It works with all NES, Famicom, and NES flash carts after you update the firmware on the system via usb cord plugged into a computer that has internet access. The only thing I would mark down for this review is not to buy the system on Amazon because the resellers are obscenely marking up the price. Buy this system from retroUSB instead (they are the ones that made this awesome system). This system should be between $170 to $180 on their site.
