I love everything about this book: its warmth, its down-to-earth voice, and its heavenly recipes' - Nigella LawsonThe first book from Scotland's celebrated and award-winning Bad Girl Bakery. Unapologetically generous and indulgent, Jeni Iannetta's cakes, bakes and biscuits have won plaudits ever since the bakery opened in 2017. They have supplied breakfast muffins for the Caledonia Sleeper's First Class customers, and cakes and bakes to National Trust Scotland, but at the heart of the business is their cafe in Black Isle village Muir of Ord.For Jeni, baking is about the occasional indulgence that’s worth it. It's about baking being a process that brings you joy. These aren't recipes with hundreds of steps, requiring loads of specialist kit; it's about baking with the best ingredients, and recipes that celebrate texture and flavour and are inspired by home baking techniques. They are do-able, fast, with simple steps and tricks that yield the tastiest results and look great without hours and hours of work. With chapters including everything from 'Cake for Breakfast' to 'Leftover Cake' (who wouldn't bake extra cake to make themselves a Hot Mess?), via an entire section dedicated to Millionaire's Shortbread, Bad Girl Bakery brings together over 100 of Jeni's best bakes. Recipes include Pimped-up Shortbread; Salted Caramel Crumble Bar; Granola, Berry & Yoghurt Muffins; White Chocolate & Cardamom Sticky Buns; Chocolate Caramel Layer Cake; Vegan Hazelnut Millionaire; Deluxe Coconut Brownies and many many more.Because Bad Girls make good cake…

Simply the best.
Every time I visit Scotland, I visit Bad Girls Bakery. The best food. The best cupcakes. Just simply the BEST. Now I can try their recipes at home.

Love. Love. Love.
Love the recipes, love the style, love Bad Girl Bakery!Recipes: Clear, lots of hits and tips and what I’ve tried so far, very, very delicious! First Class Muffins; great on the Caledonian Sleeper, fantastic from your own oven; Parsnip, Apple& Hazelnut Cake; why did I never think to add parsnip to a cake before??!! I may have eaten this all by myself and denied all knowledge of making it. Really impressed with the vegan recipes/options as well. I have a schedule of recipes to try & probably a new exercise plan 😂. Also, all of the buttercream is to die for 😍.Style: I know that you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, but this is pretty to look at & pretty to use. Layout is clear, user friendly & visually really appealing. The mix of photos of the end result & ‘action shots’ works really well. The writing style is warm & approachable, and I really appreciate the acknowledgement of team effort throughout. I also like the feel of a book to be right and this is. The pages are as silky & indulgent feeling as the cakes, bakes & treats.Bad Girl Bakery: Good food, good folk, good book. The only issue I have is that there is a chapter on Leftover Cake, and I don’t know what that is 🤔😂.

One of the best cookbooks!
I have ALOT of baking cookbooks and this one is one of my favorite. The chocolate chip cookie recipe is one of the best I have ever had and made. It's sooooo delicious. The cookbook contains an interesting collections of recipes that I can not wait to try. All the recipes look great.

Don't waste your money!
I didn't care for this book at all. There might be three recipes I'd try. It's certainly not worth the price.
