Chu's First Day of School Board Book

Adorable series
I bought this for my young nephew who is very nervous about starting school this year as this book is perfect reassurance! Chu is nervous about his first day in school and when the teacher asked each child to share a talent he is unsure what to do. Chu ends up discovering a hidden talent and decides that school is great!

daughter loves it (as do i!)
Neil is one of my favourite authors of adult work, so I was excited at a chance to introduce my daughter to his children's work. I bought Chu's Day and Chu's First Day of School. She is still a baby, and for the first few months, they were a bit too much for her, but now at 9 months, Chu's First Day of School is one of her two favourite books. She gets very excited when I pull it out, and she will carefully study every page and listen to every word I read with such enthusiasm and interest. She loves the pictures and the flow of the story. She loves to turn the pages by herself. We have a ton of books and this one stands out for her. :) She'll enjoy it for entirely new reasons as she grows older, so we will keep coming back to this one for several years to come! It's an adorable story of nervousness and acceptance and it has beautiful illustrations.

We love Chu books
Definitely not a bedtime book since my kid gets the giggles (and the fake sneezes) after reading these books but we enjoy them anyway! Fun to read, fun to see my 3 yr old enjoying all the little details in the pictures and then pretending to sneeze later in the day just to make me laugh! Good stuff.

Chu does his magic!
We were original a bit hesitate to read this to my daughter, since she really loves "Maisy goes to Preschool", and we did not want to bore her with a book about the preschool that she may not like. She. Loves. It! After first read, she pretended to sneeze like Chu for a week, and asked us to read Chu book every night before bed.

I love Neil Gaiman, and my daughter loves this book. Enough said... One of our favorite books for sure. My daughter loves it every time we read it to her. This is serious literature for kiddos, and outstanding illustration work. You will be amazed. Get it today!

Highly recommended
This is a wonderful book. It is very sweet, beautifully written and the illustrations are gorgeous. Chu is a very likeable little panda, with concerns familiar to anyone starting school. My toddler loves the story, especially the part where Chu sneezes. You really must do a huge, over the top sneeze. The ending of the story when Chu goes home with his parents is very satisfying too - having a bath and being tucked up in bed are things that every toddler does and can identify with. As a book for helping quash concerns about starting school, I think this does a great job. Also brilliant for children who just love pandas or, like my son, just love huge, great big sneezes.

Beautiful, amusing, and inventive.
This book captured my youngest daughter's attention completely. She always likes the sneeze. The illustrations are glorious.

Wonderful book for kids
The Chu books are excellent entertainment for kids, and fun to read and explore for adults as well. Gaiman's Chu stories are bedtime favourites in our house.

Great introduction
I used this book with a slight variation on the story to talk to my twins about starting nursery. Really helped them look forward to it. I vary all stories to suit ages of my children.
