Finally, the (nearly) perfect bread slicer!
I've tried several. My first was a bamboo bread slicer, and while it was good, it had three slice thickness slots, which meant that I had to slice four pieces and remove them before slicing more. (We prefer the thin slices, about ⅜" thick.) I got tired of bread slicing being so tedious, so I shopped for a new one. (Plus, the bamboo board was wearing out, and it's harder to thoroughly clean bamboo without it getting warped from too much moisture.)Nearly all of the bread slicers have multiple thickness slots. I want to slice a loaf in one shot. I finally found one that had one thickness throughout, but they were too thick (about ¾"). So I shopped some more. I decided to give up after literally several hours of shopping and comparing. I was about to close the app when I saw this little baby in a thumbnail, and it looked like just maybe it could be what I was looking for. I almost didn't look, sure that I'd be let down again. I'm so glad that my curiosity got the best of me!I can now slice an entire loaf of bread in one shot! Well, almost... the length of the slots are ONE slice shorter than the loaf from my 3 lb. bread machine. (lol) So I slice off the first end piece, remove that, then slice a perfect loaf of bread. ⅜" slices, just the way we like them! When I bake a loaf of bread for French toast, I'll slice every other slot for nice thick ¾" pieces, but otherwise the ⅜" slots are perfection.Being a cutting board, of course it will end up with grooves being cut into it after a while. Take care and be mindful when your knife gets close to the bottom of the loaf, and those grooves should be minimal. I've got cutting boards made of the same material, and the grooves from cutting are quite small after several years of using them. I expect this slicer to last a long time. The included knife is decent and we'll find other uses for it, but I have a wonderful bread knife that I absolutely love, which I personally find to be superior to the one included with this slicer. If you don't already have a bread knife, though, you'll likely find this one to be useful. The ONLY complaint I have about this slicer is that the sides with the slots really could be longer. There is a good 2-3" left at the end of the cutting board, so I really don't know why they're not longer. If the slots ran from one end of the cutting board all the way to the other, the slots would absolutely enable me to slice the entire loaf without removing even the first end piece. (Again, my bread machine makes 3lb. loaves rather than up to 2 lbs., so mine are a tad longer than loaves from most bread machines I've had or seen.) However, I am quite happy to remove the first end piece and continue slicing the entire loaf in one remaining shot. This slicer was $20 more than the previous ones I've bought, but this is the last slicer I will be purchasing for a very long time, so it was worth it to me.

Cuts perfectly without tearing or ruining the crumb.
This knife is amazing cutting through a sourdough crust and not tearing the crumb. But it is the sharpest knife I have ever used. I’ve cut myself twice just touching it. Be extremely careful. Still the best bread knife I have ever owned or used. Love it.

Solid bread knife
I’m a professional chef. This is a solid bread knife even for professional use. The craftsmanship is very decent and cuts bread no problem. Overall for the price this is a pretty good option.

A Strong Bread Slicing Set
The set was fantastic to assemble, use, and store away when no longer in use. The material for every piece was durable, haven’t seen any marks from cutting. Overall, the set is well designed, from the individual pieces to the assembled product.

Faster than slicing by hand
First off you have to clean this with warm soapy water. It had a strong varnish or glue smell out of the box.Craftsmanship is okay. Mine has a smear of varnish glue in the “serving tray” and the wooden divider. The included bad smells downright toxic. It’s going straight to the trash.Honestly I expected slightly better for the price but with so many similar items on Amazon, all about the same price, and with similar reviews, it was kinda like shooting fish in a barrel. This one I was plastic cutting board with “narrow slots” so I pulled the trigger.Let me start out by saying “narrow slots” is a misnomer. Too narrow to fit your pinky between them? Sure, but I’d wager the slots are about 10x the thickness of the included knife, and 5 times the thickness of my normal bread knife. Will you get a straight cut? Kinda. Cutting several pieces of 1/2” slices in succession without taking the loaf out resulted in each piece being a different width. I don’t think any of them ended up 1/2.” The “narrow slots” aren’t narrow and they flex when you keep tension with the knife on them. And here’s the rub… I can cut the slices faster with this than by hand, but the slices I cut by hand come out way more straight, even, and consistent.Frankly, I enjoy the ritual of cutting my slices by hand and making them look “machine” cut, way more than using this bread slicer. However, if the moment ever strikes that I need a bunch of slices and I need them NOW, then this slicer is certainly my go to.For my 2 pieces of toast in the morning? That’s a no, dog.
