Great Headset - Poor Battery Life *UPDATED*
EDIT: I'm still using this headset for my PS5 over a year since my purchase. I found somewhere that the RGB on the headset ruins the battery life (and they were correct!). I had to use the iCUE software on my PC to disable to RGB and the battery difference is crazy! I can use them for about 3 or 4 days at a time before they start compalining about charge. For reference, I play about 6 hours per day with this headset. I'd certainly recommend to remove the RGB lighting as soon as possible to prolong battery life. They have held up really well, you can tell how durable they are and they are so comfortable even after a year on. If these were to ever break completely, I wouldn't hesitate to buy the exact same pair again. I have changed my review from 4 to 5 stars after reviewing after a year. ORIGINAL: I have had this headset since July 2020 and it has been enough time for me to give my own verdict on this headset. I had to find a new headset after my Turtle Beaches began to snap on one earcup and they have been very faithful to me. COMFORT So this headset had circular earcups rather than your typical oval ones, so these may be uncomfortable for some people. At first, I did find them uncomfortable to use, but with more usage I have now got used to them. The actual material feels nice and doesn't put too much clamping force on your head. The headband is quite comfortable and is made of a memory foam type of material. The design of the headset does not make it heavy and gets straight to the point that it is a professional headset. MICROPHONE The microphone on this headset is brilliant. My friends on PS4 say that this is a crystal clear sounding microphone from their side and the sound coming in feels just as nice. There isn't a wind shield / foam cover for the microphone which I think it definitely needs, so you'll need to buy them separate. The microphone is detachable and the mute button is just underneath the back of the microphone. It's a very nice feature and subtle. The microphone cancels a lot of noise out from around you too. CONNECTIONS You can plug a 3.5mm to 3.5mm Jack into this to have a wired connection, although my friends did say this gave them some strange echo effect on my voice, so I went against using it. It connects to your device through a wireless dongle (USB) and needs to be turned on by a power switch on the right earcup. These can be charged with a type-c cable. There's a volume wheel on the right earcup too. BATTERY The one feature that ruins this headset for me. I just doesn't last long enough at all. It'll be on charge for ages and then will struggle to get through 8 hours ish. I'm sure I read it's got like a 20 hour battery in it, but it definitely doesn't feel like that. RGB The Corsair logo is on each earcup and can be lot up in various colours if you use their computer software to configure it. Very straight forward. It will also light up when it is on charge. SOUND The sound feels pretty good. I can enjoy listening to my friends or watching cutscenes / being in game with these on and feel immersed with the setting. I don't listen to music through them, so I wouldn't be able to get that opinion. VERDICT Overall, this headset takes time to get used to, especially with the circular earcups, and it can be off-putting for people. The microphone is one of the best I have used on the PlayStation and I'll be using it on the PS5 too. If the battery life was longer and consistent, I'd have given this 5 stars without thinking about it. I wouldn't let that out you off it though, as it could just be my pair. I do think the purchase for me was worth it and enjoy most of Corsairs products.

Great headset but not the most comfortable
Very good headset. Using Bluetooth on my phone to join a Playstation Voice Chat whilst using the Wireless on my PC at the same time is magical. Some people have said when you turn bluetooth back on it won't auto connect back to the phone device, I've not had this issue with a Galaxy S20, reconnects automatically if I turn the bluetooth on via the headset button. Sound quality bass is a little lower than I would have liked, mostly noticeable when listening to music, but I don't typically use my PC for music so not bothered much, games sound fine. It says its 96kHz in wired mode, which is true and it's great, but if you switch to Dolby Atmos to utilise the 7.1 surround sound it will auto bump it back down to 48kHz. This is not a fault with the headset, its a Dolby Atmos limitation. Overall sound quality is very good, the Dolby Atmos works very well, I leave it in Dolby Atmos mode for everything on the Music Medium setting, I feel it gives the best sound. The ear pads are comfy around the ear (material) but theyre very squashy and very shallow where your ear will easily touch the drivers. Probably the most uncomfortable headset I've ever worn. But only due to the ear pads. I ordered some replacement ear pads on Amazon that are deeper and this is now the best headset I've owned.

Amazing microphone quality, well-designed wireless mode, but can be uncomfortable
TL;DR: + Amazing microphone quality - probably the best in the market + Wireless mode is well-designed and reliable - Average sound quality - Comfort can be a problem over long periods of use - Massive bug renders bundled app (Corsair iCUE) unusable Aside from this headset I have tested the Astro A50, Corsair HS70 Pro, and the SE version of the same headset. The Corsair Virtuoso (not SE) was the best of all four by a significant margin. Unless noted otherwise, everything I write in this review applies to the wireless mode. The best part of this headset is the microphone quality. Simply put, I don't think you will find a better microphone in any wireless headset currently on the market, period, even in much more expensive models. I confirmed this by rigorously comparing level-matched recordings, and you can also confirm it yourself if you look for sample recordings on YouTube. As far as wireless headsets go it is miles ahead of the competition in this regard. Even the best *wired* headsets have trouble keeping up. As with most headsets, the microphone sounds best if it's placed far away from your mouth, otherwise it clips. Note that the only difference between the Virtuoso and the Virtuoso SE appears to be the microphone - I tested both variants and they seemed identical in all other aspects. You might think that the Virtuoso SE, being more expensive, would have a better mic - and you'd be wrong! Counter-intuitively, the SE microphone is worse, though not by much. The sound quality of the headphones themselves is... average. It's not bad, but it's not great, either. The headset is definitely not designed for critical listening, but it is adequate for gaming. The biggest problem with the sound is lack of bass, which might be related to my glasses breaking the headphone seal. The lack of bass can be worked around with EQ, but if third-party frequency response measurements (e.g. Rtings) are to be believed, that will only do so much. Probably the biggest problem of this headset has to do with comfort. The headset is somewhat heavy, which makes sense for a wireless headset with a battery, but the weight is not well distributed by the headband, which means after ~one hour of use my head starts to hurt where the headband is. I modified the headband, adding a contraption based on acoustic foam (see picture) to work around the problem. It does work and the headset doesn't hurt anymore, but it seems silly that I had to do something like this. The Virtuoso uses a proprietary wireless protocol and does NOT support Bluetooth - you will need to use the bundled wireless transmitter, which acts as a USB sound device. This is typical for gaming headsets. The upside is low latency and good audio quality in both directions. Wireless range seemed great in my testing. I had to go a couple of rooms away before I started hearing dropouts. In normal usage ~1 meter away from the transmitter, I never noticed any kind of interference or dropouts, ever, in many hours of use. The wireless transmission seems really rock solid. I can't say the same about other wireless headsets, even much more expensive ones. When the headset is turned off, the computer sees the audio device as removed. This is great, because that means that if you have other audio devices (e.g. speakers, webcam mic) your computer will automatically switch back and forth as you turn the headset on/off. This might seem like a very basic feature, but you'd be surprised how few wireless headsets can do this. All other wireless headsets I tried act as audio devices that "stick around" even if the headset is turned off, which is just silly. Volume control on the headset operates on the software (OS) level. Again this stands in contrast to many other wireless headsets, where the volume control is purely analog on the headset itself. The digital volume control on the Virtuoso works better because it avoids having to deal with two separate gain stages which can get messed up in confusing ways. Aside from wireless, the Virtuoso comes with two wired connection options: 3.5mm Jack (TRRS) and, surprisingly, USB Audio - a rare find for this kind of product. The headset is charged through the USB-C port. Sadly, while charging the headset using a USB charger, all LEDs stay on at full brightness and there is no way to turn them off. That's just silly. It is possible to charge the headset while using it in wireless mode at the same time. The headset can be tweaked using an app, Corsair iCUE, which makes it possible to adjust the RGB lighting and EQ, among a few other things. Unfortunately, in my testing the app suffered from a severe bug where it would constantly mess with per-application Windows app mixer levels, turning them way too low and rendering the headset basically unusable for this reason. Because of this I had to uninstall the app. The headset can be used just fine without the app, but unfortunately the app settings do not persist if the app is closed. I have also used the headset on Linux (PulseAudio), where it works perfectly out-of-the-box. In conclusion, I can recommend this headset for gaming and voice chat - it is very well suited for this use case and your friends/family/coworkers will appreciate the pristine microphone quality. Just make sure to double check for comfort/fit issues. I wouldn't recommend it for music/movies due to its somewhat unremarkable sound quality - though to be fair it is easy to find much worse in this regard.

Truly Excellent
I love these headphones. They are the first gaming headphones I’ve had that sound incredible, are comfortable to wear for long periods, are made exquisitely (mostly) well and don’t look like some bad sci-fi prop from the 1970’s. With these you get a Dolby Atmos licence which means watching movies or playing single player story games is really epic. The headset favours clarity over bassinets but not so that they sound flat. You just get a really nice overall sound. Atmos is only achievable when wired via USB-C however even over wireless you get High Resolution audio which also is excellent sounding. It’s simulated surround sound at this point but still extremely enjoyable. The battery when wireless lasts a good long time and I charge these about once a week but even when charging you can use them as it’s the same cable. No proprietary nonsense here. You get some very subtle RGB on the outer ear cup which doesn’t light ip your whole room and spew rainbows everywhere inducing an epileptic fit, almost like they were made for grown ups! They are controllable via I-cue though if you want to synch them up with other Corsair devices. You can also control the EQ here too. The build quality is outstanding with lots of metal and plush materials. They have a good heft to them and feel like they could handle a few drops. You get a nice quilted fabric carry case with them which is a nice inclusion if you want to use them on the go and keep safely in a backpack. You can connect these to your phone too so you can use them outside the house too. Another sweet feature is that you can connect to more than one device at a time which doesn’t mean fast switching between one device and another it means using two devices at the same time. Therefore you could be streaming Spotify from your phone whilst also grinding out some professions in your favourite MORPG or whatever you’re up to. People have complained about the ear ups on this and I only 50% agree. Some have said they are small and not for big ears. I have fairly big sticky out ears and I find these almost too big. I get no pressure points or hot spots at all and find them more roomy and comfortable than my Bose QC35’s which is annoying as they used to be my favourite. The thing that lets the ear ups down is the pads. They are too flimsy and too thin. They should be a bit firmer although maybe not thicker. This has been a complaint for the whole run of Virtuoso’s and for them to not have listened and fixed this is a bit disappointing. They aren’t that bad but should really be better. I can still game for many hours without issue though but need to point it out. There are a few aftermarket options you could get to fix this but you shouldn’t have to at this price. I’ve not tested the microphone personally as I have no friends but I’ve heard good things. People who expect this to be a studio equivalent mic need to sort themselves out. A small mic like this can never ever compete with a full and dedicated Mic so get over yourselves. Could you create a podcast or YouTube content with this, absolutely. Should you? Of course not, go get a proper mic. Anyways overall these are an excellent headset and I think they are well worth the price tag. When expensive things are disappointing or not special then I’ll mark them down for their price but these feel special, like they are a step above the norm and have had real craftsmanship put into them. They are worth every penny and I highly recommend them to all sensible grown ups who are sick of gamer branded plastic cheap RGB nonsense.

I've had these headphones for over a year
I've had these headphones for over a year so I think I can finally put my opinion out there. I've been only using the headphones, the microphone I didn't even take out of the box so my whole opinion here is based purely around the headphones, microphone not included. Overall the build quality of the headphones is very impressive. Solid materials, solid quality and the headphones feel very sturdy even after more than a year of usage. Which is great, but it also adds to the weight of the headphones. When I first got them it was actually quite painful to wear the headphones for more than a couple of hours in one go. I got used to it and can wear them for 8 hours straight without a problem now, but it took me around a month to get used to it. The only thing that "broke" were the foam earpads but once I got in touch with Corsair they immediately sent me a new pair, no questions asked. Which is absolutely great. The sound quality straight out of the box is, quite frankly, shockingly bad. It sounds like very cheap earbuds. Luckily you can get app where you can control the RGB of the headphones and you can also set your own equalizer. Once you find what you like you can close it and never open the app ever again. It is a little bit annoying - considering the headphones are not on the cheapest side, but it's not a major flaw. Now a little bit of my own personal experience: occasionally the sound glitches on me and everything becomes very distorted and I have to restart the headphones. Again - not the end of the world, but pretty annoying if you're in a middle of a game and suddenly everything sounds glitchy. I tried googling for the issue but didn't find anything and honestly, can't be bothered to get in touch with customer service. The battery life is very decent, on one charge I can easily use the headphones whole day (10-12 hours) and still have some battery left. The only thing I'm missing is percentage of your battery left. The app only tells you if the battery is High, Medium or Low. Overall it's a very decent headset if you don't mind playing with equaliser a little bit and don't mind headphones on the heavier side.

Great all-rounder
Revealing set of headphones, need a top-notch source and then they absolutely come alive. They'll show up poor recordings and sound superb with good production. They are very neutral sounding and would be good for production use but reveal their musicality when you tune using the bundled Dolby Atmos licence - they activate the licence when syncing via Windows 10/11 whilst opening the software. Easy to set up and a brace of options for wireless syncing or linking directly with the 3.5mm jack option. Great for music, gaming (the mic is superb, and also detachable) and sound great with Dolby Atmos movies. You also need Corsair's iCue software to turn off the RGB lighting and for firmware updates, so keep that in mind. Highly recommended if your gear is up to it.

Awful
This headset is absolutely awful. After searching around for wireless headsets they seemed to look good from reviews on both Amazon and YouTube however there are massive problems that Corsair still haven't addressed and which make these completely worthless. The first issue is that there is constant signal and connection loss/distortion. At first I thought this is just me or my computer but after trying these on multiple devices and in different places it became apparent that it's nothing to do with my devices. In any case, looking on forums and online this issue seems to be widespread and there are still people complaining that there have been no fixes for it. I therefore thought to return the headset (Virtuoso RGB) and get a replacement (Virtuoso SE) which I had to add another £30 for. The SE presented exactly the same issues and in fact, the microphone is slightly worse on the SE model which begs the question as to why they cost so much more. I've now been using the SE for about a week and in one hour of gaming, sound loss occurs at least 5-6 times, in some cases so bad that the sound loss lasts for up to 3 seconds which not only ruins the gaming experience but in competitive games is a huge problem. There are some discussions online around 2.4GHz signal interference due to WiFi or other devices but I haven't had this issue with any of my other 2.4GHz devices before. It seems that Corsair have just cheaped out on the hardware and haven't bothered creating software to make some redemption for it. The battery life is underwhelming, it says 20 hours but at best lasts 12-14 hours with all LEDs off. The range is pretty bad, especially with walls in the way. The comfort is fine, however the earcups are very shallow and your ears will touch the inside of the headset which is uncomfortable. The microphone is good on the non SE version and in fact is the only good feature on this headset. The software is lacking and only includes EQ settings and LED controls. The weight of the SE is uncomfortable. I think it is worth spending another £10-20 and getting a Logitech G Pro X Wireless headset or if the budget is at £150, the Hyper X Cloud 2 wireless are now also available. Tldr: buy something else

Much better than the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2
All in all a really good wireless headset, especially if you've already tried others and had problems with muffled microphone (Ps4/Pc) just have to remember to keep the microphone a little further away or even pointed away from your mouth, and then turn up microphone on the Ps4/Pc itself. If you're in the same boat as me and have just tried 2 different turtle beach stealth 600 gen 2's (and others) then this headset is your saviour. I didn't really need to tune the headset on the ICUE program (Pc) but any problems you'll see from other reviews can basically be fixed there. My only real problem with the headset is that it doesn't last anywhere near the advertised battery time, the advertised battery life is only achievable by turning the RGB LED's off, which shouldn't really bother anyone as the wearer can not see the lights anyway. One issue brought up by others is the matter of comfort. This headset is fairly comfortable if you are used to headset with circular pads, however the pads on this headset are extremely soft and have a lot of give so they don't do a whole lot of padding. It's a strange thing to describe but they weren't really uncomfortable for me. Another concern of mine is that the headset feels delicate even though it has really good solid build quality and materials, this may just be because of swivelly parts and my fear of damaging a really expensive headset. All-in-all good headset but it's a really really good headset if you were having problems with the turtle beach and other similar muffled microphones.

Uncomfortable
These are NOT comfortable. Especially when worn for 4+ hours. I didn't really believe the reviews mentioning how uncomfortable they are. I have small ears and assumed that everyone complaining about discomfort wouldn't affect me or would affect me much less. I actually bought these due to the mic. I needed a headset with a better-sounding microphone and many Youtubers recommended this headset. It was so uncomfortable that I actually ended up buying a separate microphone + boom arm so I could go back to using my previous headset.

Perfect
Perfect headset. Comfortable to wear for hours. Has auto sleep after 10 mins, can be changed using corsair's program. I adjusted the sound a tiny bit on VoiceMeter Banana.

Harika

Durable headset
The sound and microphone met my expectations. However, there are two cons I noticed. First, it feels almost necessary to buy thicker earpads. I bought the WC FreeZe Virtuoso and am very happy with it. The stock earpads touch my ears and don’t seal well, which affects the sound quality when listening to music. Second, while this can be both a pro and a con, the headset is heavy, but also very durable. That's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.
