They are sticky at first and after ours dried completely, became pretty hard and not as bouncy. My son still had fun and it was a great craft/project. They come with everything you need. The only thing you need to provide is water and patients! I recommend doing this on newspaper or paper towels and disposable cups. Tap the molds so the powder settles (especially in the square mold) before submerging into water. Also, if you are doing a lot...towards the end, the stickiness inside the molds will clog the water inlet holes. We had one big ball that didn't absorb water and it stayed powdery. Easy fix...we just added powder to fill hole and dried water onto it and molded it to match the Contour of the shape.
