This stuff is about half the price of what you can get at a big box home improvement store, and it's maple rather than birch. I got it to edge-band a piece of maple veneer plywood that I'm using to make a mid-century "Atomic" coffee table as a gift.I normally don't work in plywood unless making book cases or some cabinet boxes, and rarely edge band unless it's for a shop table and I just don't want to look at plywood. Thus, I usually just go to Lowe's and get a small roll. But for this project I wanted to match materials and found this, which has a heat-sensitive glue. Good stuff. Sets quickly, bonds well and just won't move when adhered.Also, it is a good quality stock that doesn't split or fray when working fairly tight curves.Just a quick mention also: you don't need a $100 veneer iron to use this stuff. I have a small travel iron I got here for twelve bucks and, between travels, I use it when needed for veneer. Dry heat set to max. Save yourself a couple of bucks.
