KOHLER Stem & Seat Assy

The part received is a genuine Kohler part in a Kohler blister pack with the brass valve, copper gasket, rubber "O" ring and stainless steel seat. After removing them from the packkage the shaft was unscrewed from the brass body for inspection. There was some grease, but I felt it was not enough and added more water proof marine grade grease to the threads and shaft. Did this to both. The new valve stem came with an O ring that was not on the old valve stem being replaced so I'm assuming this is an upgrade to help prevent leaks where the valve stem seals to the manifold. If you are wondering, the copper gasket goes on first, then stretch the O ring over and past the threads up against the copper gasket. This new valve seat kit rebuilt the shower valves and they work wonderfully. Smooth easy twist on with no binding, and nice soft close with no straining to make the shower head stop dripping. This kit is less than $1 more than the aftermarket replacement valve, and no seat is included. Also, the price is the same as the local Lowes and Home Depot, but these stores did not have them in stock and order time was about two weeks. The valves from Amazon came two days after ordering with Prime.

Fit like a glove. Shower works perfectly, like it was brand new.

Genuine Kohler quality. Be prepared to use an easy out bolt extractor to remove the old seat. If the seat is frozen, it may round out before breaking free. An easy out makes small work of removing the seat if need be. Finally, don't overtighten the faucet handle when shutting off the water, as that is what ruins the rubber washer.

Eventually I replaced my whole manifold with newer up-to-date faucets and the stem I bought was no longer needed but at the of purchase I wanted it to be repaired without having to open the wall behind the manifold. It did work well while in service though.

Genuine Kohler superb quality part. Made in USA. Looks and works like it schould.

Package arrived in two days. I called Kohler to make sure this is what I was going to need and was told this part was disconitnued and I could buy the updated part for twice as much and would have to add additional parts to it to make it the same kit here. Make sure you do your homework!!! Part came with everything I needed at half the cost! Great Buy

I've bought the Danco stem before, but this OEM Kohler stem is far superior and works much better in my faucet.
