100% functional airflow to suppress a sweaty bottom. Problem: the surface texture of the cushion is so coarse to facilitate airflow that the cushion can become uncomfortable to cause almost a burning sensation on the buttocks skin!! This is especially notable when wearing only underwear or pajamas while sitting on the cushion. I place a light cotton towel over the cushion to minimize this "uncomfortable" sensation in this setting. I'm elderly and sedentary -- sitting in a comfortable office chair for many hours each day -- so this is a big deal for me. I also purchased additional, softer cushions (which purportedly advertise more air to the buttocks), but have found them to be somewhat wanting in suppression of buttocks sweating as effectively as this cushion. So ... I'm currently placing this cushion on top of the "softer" aerated cushion. Together, they slide around little but the overall fit is reasonable on top of an office armchair. The cushion is most effective in the car - a must have for a multi-hour trip with an attached plastic disk to insert between the bottom and seat back to prevent sliding forward. 60 or 70 years ago we could buy a thin spring wire cushion for the car to keep your butt dry, but they were fragile and the wire could puncture your butt or the seat, and they were not the most comfortable cushions. This cushion is more comfortable and so far promises to be more durable with a coarse honeycomb-cell plastic architecture. The cushion appears to be big-tub washable if need be. There is no smell associated with the plastic construction which overall seems to be good to excellent, but time will tell if it can hold up to daily wear. Initially, I thought the pair of seat cushions, as sold, were on the pricey side but my effective comparison was 60 years ago (the old wire/spring car cushions) and these are definitely of much better quality for similar functionality.

It's over 100 degrees right now in my city (exceptionally hot) and these are a lifesaver. They are comfortable to sit on (not with short shorts) and you can actually feel air circulating under your thighs and bum. Took off one star because the buckle thing that is supposed to hold them in place doesn't really fit into my seats so it moves around. Still, use them and they absolutely make a difference in the heat.

As a professional bus operator I have gone through a LOT of seat cushions, both in my cars and in my bus. The flimsy bamboo weave cushions fray and come apart with time. The kind with wooden beads are nice, too, until the nylon webbing holding them all in place begins tearing. Then the beads start disappearing here and there. My all-time favorite was the semi-hard plastic cushions made by RubberQueen. They gave good support and ventilation, and lasted for years! Sadly. I think they lasted so long that the company had to close its doors. There simply are none to be found, anywhere. The last one I bought was in a thrift store about 25 years ago. Believe it or not, I am still using it on my desk chair. I found a close copy of them in Mexico. They come in different colors and are not very pricey. However, they don't hold up very well when I sit on them in Chicago's cold Winter temperatures. They become brittle and crack over time. Carrotez 2 Pack Double Breathable 3D Air Mesh Car Seat Cool Cushion Cover pad for Cars Front Seats are very nicely made. They have a good quality border around them. The fine woven mesh gives good support and ventilation. I want to order another pair for my other car, and maybe another to take on the bus with me. :-]

These are thin, very stiff, and I’m not sure that they do much. I bought them to use in my office chair as I am seated at my desk most of the day. I definitely think one would be pretty pointless - I used both fastened together as a previous reviewer suggested. After an hour, I was uncomfortable because of how hard they are - they are not a cushion and I didn’t expect them to be, but I’m surprised by how uncomfortable they are. I feel that an office chair with a mesh seat is a better solution for air circulation. I am not a large or overweight person, so that is not a factor in my comfort level with this product. I would not repurchase or recommend.
