Very good beach tool.
Exactly what I needed. Size is right, strong materials, preferred sifter size. Will work for both kids and adults. May buy another one.

The Ultimate Treasure Hunter's Sidekick
Just returned from a beach vacation and let me tell you, the Sand Dipper - Treasure Digger Sifter was the unsung hero of our trip. Imagine a sifter so mighty it practically screams, "I WILL FIND YOU TREASURE!" Itโs like having a metal detector but for sand, and it doesnโt beep or give you a hernia from carrying it around. First off, if youโre envisioning a small, delicate tool, think again. This bad boy is built like a tank. We werenโt just sifting sand; we were sifting with the confidence of a pirate who just heard thereโs a new treasure map in town. From seashells to the occasional lost toy, the Sand Dipper found it all. We even unearthed a few โmysticalโ items that may or may not have been the result of an overzealous childโs sandcastle ambitions. The ergonomic handle made sifting feel like a breezeโif breezes were powered by relentless determination and a hint of mild sunburn. And the mesh is so fine, it even caught those sneaky grains of sand that try to sneak away with your valuables. The only downside? It might attract a few curious looks from fellow beachgoers. At one point, I half-expected a news crew to show up and document our epic quest for seashells. But hey, if you want to turn your beach day into a full-blown adventure, this sifter is your new best friend. So, if you're ready to dig deep and sift out the best (or at least the most interesting) your beach has to offer, the Sand Dipper is worth every grain of sand. May your finds be plentiful and your beach days epic! ๐๏ธ๐ช๐

Color me impressed
So, I'm not a little kid, I'm a 30-something adult female and I bought this for myself. I have recently been getting into fossil hunting on the coast (where permissable and within state regulations - make sure to check before you start collecting!!) And I wanted a sieve that wasn't too big and that I could fit into my drybag. I initially looked at some wooden frame screens, but they wouldn't arrive in time and were larger than I wanted so I ended up selecting this one. I have to say, I'm pretty impressed! Firstly it's hard to lose something that's lime green. I have ADHD and if I can't see it, it doesn't exist. Pretty difficult to not notice this bad boy. Do I feel a little childish using a green plastic sieve? Yeah. But finding fossil shark teeth at an exceptional rate pretty much put that worry away. The handles are fabulous. I cannot stress that enough. I have joint issues and these were ergonomic and easy for me to grip, even covered in silt and grime. I think if I used a traditional screen it would have been much more uncomfortable and I wouldn't have been able to sift as long as I had with this one. The scoop on the front is pretty cool. Granted, where I was digging (a tailing site; I refuse to dig and destroy natural areas and disturb delicate coastal ecosystems) was incredibly rocky. It definitely would work better in sand. That being said, I had no issues absolutely jamming it into rock and gravel. It's incredibly sturdy. This is not a flimsy beach toy. I did scratch the surface doing this but it is plastic. It's not impervious. I expected this. If I had to be *really* picky I would say I wish the sides were higher/the basket deeper. It could hold more material that way, but honestly, for what it is it did pretty darn well. I was surprised by the amount of small shark teeth I caught in it. Some definitely fell through, but I still gathered more than I would have by hand. The surface is easy to clean. Soap, water, whatever. It wipes down just fine and it's not hard to clean the "mesh" part. Overall I'm pretty darn impressed. I wish it came in some more natural colors, but then and again, you could lose it faster that way. I'm going to have to get another one for my husband next time we go out looking for fossils!

Pretty good sifter!
This is pretty good at what it does, probably even better for a calm river. I think the side walls are a little low, water seems to carry a lot of it out if you aren't super careful or have a big scoop of sea debris. Other than that, it was used a lot and was fun for the kids to use to try and find nice shells and shark teeth

Nice and sturdy
This sifter is way more sturdy and durable than I expected. Itโs decently big while still being easy to hold and scoop. It takes a while to sift through, but this catches the tiny shells and shark teeth that a lot of sifters miss. I think itโs definitely worth it for the price.

Nice small sifter
Used it to sift sand when hunting for sharks teeth. Small enough holes to remain small teeth. Held up well. Easy to hold and travel with. Very light weight.

Not the greatest for shark teeth
I liked how well it worked for scooping up sand in the surf. It didn't do well as a sifter, but if you work it like a gold pan it'll function.
