IWB Holster for Taurus 85 & S&W J-Frame Revolvers (637,642,638,43,442), Inside Waistband Appendix Carry, Adj.Retention & Cant, NOT for Taurus 856 & 605 Protector/Defender/Rail Models - Right Hand

I have a S&W 640, and have tried a handful of holsters. Most end up being too short as the barrel is slightly longer than other J-Frames. For leather or canvas, it's not too big of a deal, but it really makes a difference with kydex. This holster fits the 640 perfectly. It is very adjustable for retention, and slightly for the cant. I agree with the other reviews stating this is primarily for 3 or 4 o'clock carry. It's not impossible for other position, but not ideal. I am truly impressed with the quality and fit, especially for the price. If anything happens to this one, I would buy it again. I highly recommend this holster.

S&W 637-2 fits perfect, good retention. Price very good for what you get. As good as any kydex for half the price. As comfortable as any other holster, I don’t find them all that comfortable but they are thin and have good retention. So… win.. win

Got this for my smith and wesson 637-2. Fits decently well, had to loosen the screw so it wasnt a hard draw. My model 637-2 has a 1.875 in barrel so it fits perfectly. Mostly wear it with jeans and sweatpants and even being a bit heavier it doesnt dig into me to the point where I dont want to carry.

No screwdriver came with mine. Luckily, I had one in drawer. Fit as supplied was too tight to use with Taurus 856. The supplied Chicago adjusting screws were of good quality. I removed the screws and spacers completely and the 856 slides in n out very smoothly. Some may prefer to adjust the screws until they have more friction to the fit or even a snap-in fit. The plastic belt clip seems robust and is adjustable for for-aft cant using the two screws. Easy re-holstering without undoing the belt. The groove in the belt clip is too narrow to be used with 1.5" belt - needs another 1/4" (better too wide than too narrow, Mr designer). Rides very comfortably on me at about 4-30. Pros Robust, good features and materials. Cons No screwdriver provided with mine Belt clip needs an extra 1/4" on width of belt slot (most people wear 1.5" wide belts in my experience) Perhaps it should be supplied with 2 belt clips - 1.25" and 1.5". Most people have a screwdriver, so leave that out. Some advice to those who may get a tight one, even when the screws are removed. Place some packing material (wood, plastic, metal or folded aluminum foil) in the open gap to force it apart about 1/4" more. Heat the folded edge with a hairdryer until it gets hot to touch. Allow to cool, remove the packing material and you should find that you have a looser fit.

Good retention and low profile, however it does not cover the hammer nor does it stop the cylinder from turning while holstered, so there is some potential of it getting snagged and discharging

Bought for 905 taurus , fit is a bit tight. S+W 642 was best fit with positive click in. Ruger LCR was looser but no slop or rattle. All in all it is comfortable and works OK ,good quality and great price.
