Review: Spearfishing 12" Stainless Steel Pole Spear Tip Single Barb Head from Scuba-Choice - I purchased this Spearfishing 12" Stainless Steel Pole Spear Tip Single Barb Head from Scuba-Choice, to have on the boat when I go offshore. It came in two pieces, the collar is aluminum, female threaded for the spear point and the pole to attach if necessary. The point is sharp and sturdy, It measured at 0.314 inch diameter and it is 12 inches long from the end of the coupler to the point, when they are both screwed together. The spear that goes with this point is not yet ordered. I plan to use a fiberglass rod that I can drill, tap and use so it mounts just as the fishing rods will, along side of my center console. I am sure I won't use it much, unless I begin to spearfish underwater, but I most likely will just use it from the boat, as a pass time to gaff and pull in hooked fish or try my luck at harpooning. If it becomes a memorable experience, I'll return and add to or detract from this review.

A: Find out exactly the thread diameter of your pole spear, then the thread diameter of the tip you want and get an adaptor that works for you.  There are many sold on amazon and ebay.

**Q: Is this legal in Bahamas?**
A: Not that I know of.  You'll need a native spear there.

**Q: I have a mako 3 in 1 travel spear. I think it has a 12.5mm female thread. Is there a adaptor I could purchase to use this tip?**
A: I believe that you can find an adapter for it.  I've seen several listed on Amazon.

My tip works great, really makes a difference when shooting through medium and large sized fish. If the poon makes it through(and it almost always does) then the fish is toast. Just keep making sure it stays tight because a spinning fish will try to unthread it.

when i get a full pass through with my pole spear the fish CANNOT come off! but if its a smaller fish they ussally trash so much they break themselves apart and come off the pole for bigger fish this is op. is spear catfish carp and suckers the suckers usally come off i would suggest a 3 prong or 9 prong for suckers
