A great device for mini surveillance. I am a bachelor living a separate room but shared apartment . Have a camera like this brings me piece of mind as it has responsive motion detection and person AI identification . Has an SD card slot which I house a 8gb micro sd card which I dont use anymore. The local storage is great so far , I am able to play back any detection from the camera. This is my 2nd purchase from the same seller cause it was at a good price offer at the time. The only drawback which is a really important feature is a push notification if the power supply gets cut or WIFI signal is no longer connected. This is a major feature and security threat the TP-link company has looked over. The burglars can just switch off the main supply to your house and you have no clue if the house is being raided or not. Other than this major flaw everything works great. The IR sensor is a great feature for night vision & the motion motors are silent. I don't use the subscription cause all the main features are open to use other than cloud storage. Mobile interface is also great . Although the speaker / talking feature is mid , as in it is not that loud . Which is weird cause the alarm sound is much louder when set ( the camera has a siren alarm if there is motion detected , good for leaving the house unattended for long periods , scares away threats). I would say mic and speaker for talk or chat feature is mid . I bought a second unit for my parents thinking this talk feature would be beneficial to start of conversation instead of voice call but its not the perfect medium to communicate. The mic is good for taking in clear voice speech only at 2-4 meters max and I would say same for speaker loudness but the siren alarm loudness is audible to about 5-10 meters (maybe more). Overall ,I highly recommend this model over other brands and models after extensive research and finally purchasing it . Good for the price range and packed with desired features. If you just want some piece of mind , that your property is secure I say get this unit without a second thought. They only reason for the 4 stars is the lack of the major flaw feature (which I think in hindsight no surveillance camera indoor model out there has at this price range ) and the mid quality of mic and speaker.

I have been using the Tapo camera for only one week, and I am already facing connection problems. The camera shows connection errors all the time and does not stay connected properly. I have to reboot it frequently just to make it work again. This is very frustrating and disappointing. I expected better performance.
